There already are lots of "video games are bad" threads. Why not let the OP keep his post related to the topic and criticize video games elsewhere? ;) :)

Was it necessary to derail the thread like that? Take it elsewhere. This is about witnessing.

I've been playing video games since I was 9 and have a big part of my life. I never really thought of spreading the word of God through it since I use it as a source to get out of reality. I get stressed out to easy and it has helped me keep things balanced. During the past couple of years God has come up with some of my friends that I play with. I use to be really addicted back in the day and I still think I am up to this date. But to me it's never been to serious.

I've tried to give minecraf a try but honestly...I just got to bored lol But its a good game so I hear if your into customizing and building things.

It would be nice to find a christian clan since it would be good to have some nice conversations about Christ. I became a pc gamer a couple of years ago and it really isn't as social as the consoles are in my opinion. So I guess I'm always finding myself playing by myself or with the couple of friends I play with. I wouldn't think it's a waste of time, but it can be used wisely.

You know ill have to agree with Jimmy most are a waste of time. However I think it's a lack of maturity only when it takes an excessive amount of time out of a Christian's life.

But if you are just enjoying an occasional hobby why not share your faith with fellow comrades in the game? You could reach and touch someone's life. I believe I have before.

Vidya games. We like 'em. We play 'em. A lot. Do you do anything to display or share your faith in them?

I'll give you an example. I play Minecraft frequently. I've got a few YouTube video series of me playing it. The first episode has an introduction segment. In it, I mention that I'm a born-again Christian. Nothing wrong with saying it, that's part of what I am. I also tend to include references to my faith in things I build in the game. For example, in a house I'm making in-game (Minecraft is a game that focuses a lot on building stuff) there's a large cross that stands out in the main room. Oftentimes I'll have a Bible verse like John 3:16 on my forum profile or whatnot.

How do you show your faith? If you don't, what could you do? There's a gaming clan for Minecraft for people who are Christian. I didn't join them but they're there.
wow that's a good way of sharing God's word. I also like to share God's word in my blog and facebook... :)

I play Call of Duty: Black Ops on the PS3. My playercard emblem is "I <3 Christ (symbolising a cross)". I have had people asking me about it. I've told them what I am.

With love. GBU

This is especially cool because you mention it in your Youtube vids which is a very "dangerous" territory for Christians. I've seen people posting their testimonies or even briefly mentioning their faith and their comments are riddled with hurtful words against them and our God.

Very little respect for us considering they demand it for themselves so fiercely.
To be fair, stuff like this happens no matter what you put on youtube. When I see all the video of people explaining how they came to be atheists there are a ton of insulting, and sometimes threatening, comments made by religious people (Christians included).

I put up video game videos on youtube and I still get people insulting me about the games I play to a ridiculous degree.

I had fun with making a custom spray paint in TF2 (an online shooter) that was the image of Christ. I would spray it everywhere on the battlefield. One time I had a player spray-painting over it every time I sprayed it. So I rocket-launched up to the ceiling and sprayed it on the ceiling where it was difficult to get to. It was pretty funny. ;)

I've thought about starting my own Christian guild in Aura Kingdom when it comes out.
