I have a question on the band Demon Hunter. The Bible says we are to resist the Devil not hunt him down.James 4:7.

So basiclly you think heavy metal is evil?
ya I spent a lot of time researching it, In fact I played rock music on my guitar for 8 years. I read a satistic that said the suicide rate went up 300% since the 1950's. What came out in the 1950''s --rock n roll--which turned into metal around the early 70's through bands like Black sabbath and Deep Purple. The beatles have broke some ground as well.

Rock n rollers use drugs which cause them to hallucinate and alter there state of conciousness to were they are influenced by demon spirits. Why do you think that some of the songs seem to be so biszare. In fact a study has been found that rock music itself alter s the state of conciousness( that is probably why you can't studdy well while you listen to it).

And these same supposable Christian Rockers admit to being influenced by these sorcerous rockers.

Once you realize that fact that music is not neutral you will start to understand

Go to you tube and look up the movie series: " They Sold Their Souls For Rock n Roll"

Thank you for posting this! And not only that, but how can you really praise and worship with metal?

Let's not turn this into another one of those threads. Whatever floats your boat, different strokes for different folks. If you think metal is evil pray for us, and for those of us that think you're misguided we'll pray for you. God's will be done, the Truth will be revealed.

I'm not sure where the lines are drawn now-a-days between rock and metal, but I'm a big fan of Underoath, Brian 'Head' Welch, and I think the new Flyleaf album is pretty awesome.

you know what else also increased in the 1950s? media allowances....coverage of such things could actually be not permissable in that era...exposure of the "glory" of it has been strongly linked in an area to suicide rates...even to this day....

also chemicals with very bad depression side affects were being used in areas that animals were eating, passing this to whomever eats it...

to "blame" heavy music is absolutely ludicrous....the same messages are present constantly in other styles of music...and lounge singers die of OD's and drug induced death just like rock musicians...

and worshiping God is not done in only one way...any more than experiencing God is done one way...

Christian metal ain't worshiping, it's entertainment with a good message you agree with and can sing along. When I worship God I listen to worship music.

There is no solid ground for the assumption that the style of metal/rock is influenced by demons. It's clear in the light of the bible, what is wrong and what is not. We don't need to think up new sins such as "a musical style is wrong".

Someone please tell, under what sin does the style of metal/rock fall unto.

If you say it's worldly / loving the world, then define what does worldly and loving the world mean to you.

Rite on, Biggentleben!
Not that I listen to a whole lot of Christian Metal, myself... but I do love the band Skillet.

If someone wants to rock out, its best to rock out for God!

Well OK, I'm not saying it's impossible to worship God with metal, but the moment I start worshiping God then it doesn't matter to me anymore if it's metal or whatever style. I think people listen to rock generally for entertainment.

that's exactly it...that's worship to YOU...worship to God is a brother/sister falling on their knees and giving themselves over to Him and allowing Him control of their lives....what music may or may not be involved has nothing to do with it..."worship" music genre is a media creation, not a definition...
