is your church preaching a self help repentance, turn or burn, message? Count the times your pastor mentions mentions sin, and compare it to the times he mentions Jesus.... you'll be shocked. Was Jesus' FINISHED work on the cross not enough?..

6 God, by his grace through Christ, called you to become his people. So I am amazed that you are turning away so quickly and believing something different than the Good News.7 Really, there is no other Good News. But some people are confusing you; they want to change the Good News of Christ.8 We preached to you the Good News. So if we ourselves, or even an angel from heaven, should preach to you something different, we should be judged guilty! 9 I said this before, and now I say it again: You have already accepted the Good News. If anyone is preaching something different to you, let that person be judged guilty! -Galatians 1:6-9

we are suppose to be talking about the GOOD NEWS!!!!
The Good News is that IT IS FINISHED! You can't earn Heaven!!! You can't save yourself, and you can't be 'good' enough to earn God's love! That God IS NOT MAD AT YOU!!!!! That Jesus paid it all! You're blessings are not determined by your actions... you got to accept salvation, blessings, etc as a FREE gift, or not at all.

...

“Be careful of false prophets. They come to you looking gentle like sheep, but they are really dangerous like wolves." -Matthew 7:15

very rep-able post brother. good work. we should repent when we receive salvation. it needs to happen at the same time. we cannot truly repent without god's help and salvation.

Jesus talked about hell.

I also recall that, Jesus talked about hell more than heaven.

The presence or absence of the gospel is the decisive factor between true and false. No matter how much good sounding talk is done about repentance and obedience, about spiritual gifts and social responsibility or how much open or subtle boasting is made in the efforts and experiences of men. If the gospel is not preached then not only is a false gospel automatically thereby being adhered to, the proponents of it are not regenerate.

The gospel is the good news of salvation conditioned on the atoning blood and imputed righteousness of Christ alone. Any other "gospel" that conditions any part, however so tiny, of salvation on the sinner, in whatever way, shape or form, is a damnable false gospel. Those who believe and preach a false gospel are lost, and those who tolerate, befriend, endorse or are indifferent to a false gospel are just as lost. Even if they are zealous for God (Rom.10:1-3).

There is something wrong if we don't talk about Jesus more than we talk about Hell :)

is that paraphrased, or is the verse just a reference? I was trying to figure out what translation, but I'm really tired :p lol

No paraphrasing and no exact quote of any bible version. Just the issue in a nutshell. Then there was a reference scripture.
