Hello,
are there any other students here?
I want to know what you are studying and what you hope to do for work.
Also tell your age and your plans for the future.
I am a graduate student of Library and Information Science at San José State University.
I study online. I'm 25 and I'll be 26 on Tuesday!
I am in the running to do an internship with the Library of Congress and after that I hope to do another internship in the summer. I also am applying to teach English in Martinique or Guadeloupe, two French islands in the Caribbean.
I know that I am at a ripe age to aim for a career job, but I still want to travel and be free. I don't yet want to be held to a permanent job. I like to travel. I've taught English in mainland France and I returned in August from South Korea, where I also taught English for a year.
I like having experiences around the world and discovering new things. I will take the Foreign Service Officer Test in February and I hope to do that as a permanent career. This would allow me to travel every few years while I work for the U.S. government.
I love this opportunity and I want to keep doing it. I admire the stable, traditional life, but I want to try to accomplish my bigger dreams. I know that for the moment I seem... to be dragging my feet in terms of job stability and continuity, but I'm not afraid to challenge the status quo and what is typical to do extraordinary things.
Am I crazy or is anybody else daring to be different? Or am I not facing reality? Please, people, respond and tell me what you think.
Merry Christmas!
Aaron
