I am having a lot of trouble forgiving myself for things I have done in my past. I am a completely different person now. But I did a lot of things in my past I am not proud of. I know people think things about me yet I am not that girl any more. I want to give my life to GOD. How can I forgive myself and forgive the people who have there views about me?

God forgives you and them. Why would you hold on to something God has let go of? You will forgive yourself when you can think of your past as not shame but experience.

My young sister....Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He SHALL strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord! >>> II Timothy 2:15 Study to show yourself approved of God, a worker who does NOT need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. >>> Matthew 6:14-15 "For IF you Forgive men their tresspasses, Your Heavenly Father will ALSO Forgive You. "But if YOU DON'T forgive men their trespasses, NEITHER will your Heavenly Father forgive Your trespasses. >>> Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for Nothing, but in EVERYTHING by Prayer and Supplication, WITH Thanksgiving, let Your requests be made known to GOD. >>> I Thessalonians 3:12-13 And may the Lord make You increase and abound in LOVE to "one another" and to ALL, just as we do to you. So that He MAY establish your HEARTS BLAMELESS in Holiness before our God and Father at the Coming of our Lord Jesus CHRIST with ALL His Saints. >>> Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, who IS Rich in MERCY, because of His Great LOVE, with which He LOVED US, Even when we were DEAD in our trespasses, MADE US ALIVE TOGETHER with CHRIST ( by GRACE You HAVE Been SAVED.) >>> Colossians 1:21-22 And YOU who once were alienated and enemies in your MIND by Wicked Works, YET NOW have been Reconciled, In the Body of His Flesh through death, to Present YOU Holy, and Blameless, and Above reproach in His sight. >>> I Peter 2:24-25 Who HIMSELF bore OUR sins in His Own Body on the tree, that WE, having DIED to sins, Might Live for RIGHTEOUSNESS-By WHOSE STRIPES YOU WERE HEALED. For YOU WERE like sheep going astray, BUT have NOW Returned to The Shepherd and OVERSEER of your souls. >>> Hebrews 4: 15-16 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our Weaknesses, but was in ALL points tempted as We are, YET without sin. Let US therefore come BOLDLY to the Throne of GRACE, that WE MAY obtain MERCY and find GRACE to HELP in time of NEED. >>> Romans 8:26 Likewise, the Spirit ALSO helps in our Weaknesses. For we do NOT know WHAT we should pray for as we ought, BUT the Spirit HIMSELF makes intercession for US with groanings which CANNOT be uttered. >>> Romans 5: 8-9 But God demonstrates His OWN LOVE towards US, in that while WE WERE STILL SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US! Much MORE then, having now been Justified by HIS BLOOD, WE SHALL be SAVED from WRATH through HIM. >>> Hebrews 10: 12 & 14 But this MAN, after He had offered ONE SACRIFICE for sins FOREVER, sat down at the RIGHT HAND of God. For by ONE OFFERING He HAS PERFECTED FOREVER those who are sanctified. >>> JOHN 3:17 For God did NOT send His SON into the world to condemn the world, BUT that the world through Him MIGHT BE SAVED, JOHN 16:33 "THESE THINGS I HAVE SPOKEN TO YOU, THAT IN "ME" YOU MAY HAVE PEACE. In the world you WILL have tribulation; BUT be of Good Cheer, I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD. My suggestion to You is to GET IN THE WORD AND STAY IN IT. Start with Romans....Gods speed to You.

That first verse is from Psalm 27. Rest in the Lord He is the ONLY One who will NEVER let you down. Stay in His Word, which is Jesus the CHRIST come in the flesh to dwell among us. I HIGHLY recommend the letters of Paul, For it is by GRACE that we ARE saved. ***Once you learn the ultimate TRUTH that CHRIST Jesus LOVES YOU SO MUCH...HE DIED for YOU*** and would have still suffered the horrors of the Cross, even if You were the only one on earth >>>> You will Understand, and Know how to give your WHOLE HEART to Him and be able to NOT ONLY to forgive yourself, but LOVE yourself aswell, and leave ALL the garbage and the past where it belongs, (in the garbage....in the past.) Put down the BRICKS and pick up the Cross and follow Him unto Salvation.

Move forward, if you have changed and are sincere about it, God understands and does not expect you to let your past haunt your future. Put it behind you, concentrate on what is ahead of you, and pray. Ignore those that form opinions about you, those kind of people will do that no matter what you do.

Remember, guilt and shame are from the enemy. These are not thoughts God gives us. Satan wants to hold you back in your walk by making you focus on the past, but God wants you to focus on your present, on the new creation He has made you. He wants you to look to Him, His forgiveness, His love, His patience, His guidance. Satan wants you wallowing in guilt and frustration, always being held back by that doubt in the back of your mind. Always with that sense of unworthiness that will prevent you from serving God to your fullest.
You really just have to make a conscience choice 'i will no longer let my past effect who i am'. You have to tell yourself that daily, or many times a day. You need to pray against this attack as well. As a good friend once told me when i was having the same problem ... 'your past does not define who you are in the present'.

Romans 8:1 says this, Tasha: "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" :). A very freeing verse indeed :)! When He died for you on that cross, He took all your punishment, Sis. As long as you accept His death as the payment for your sins, they're covered under His blood. Ask Him to help you have more forgiveness in your heart for the people who still think you're behaving badly (I suppose that they're you awhile back, in a way), but it would help a lot to tell them about the Love you've found :). A lot of them won't believe you, but tell them how much better you're doing now that you let Jesus rescue you, and you'll be doing your part. There's nothing else you can do to make them believe you that I can think of, except stay right on track with Jesus and flee sin. Ask Him fervently to help you do so, and ask Him to give you an extra dose of Holy Spirit power :). He absolutely adores you :).

Sometimes forgiving ourselves is the hardest thing in the world to do.
But when you realize God loves you SO dearly... it makes it a little bit easier.

Nobody ever has been or ever will be perfect, and God understands that. He wants you to understand that.
Jesus came to die for us while we were still caught up in our sins.
Even though we sin, we are still worthy of love and forgiveness.

I know its not easy. But just make the choice. Sometimes you'll have to make that choice every single day,
or multiple times a day.
But over time, healing will take place and it will no longer be a stronghold in your life :)

Don't let your feelings and emotions get the best of you.
Trust the word of God and ask the Lord to help you, and He will <3

I've struggled with this too! Just know the Lord sees your heart! As long as you come to him and confess that Jesus lay his life down on the cross for you and He is your savior, and BELIEVE it, God sees that & you are forgiven! God knows the true contents of our hearts! He loves you always!
