Just an example of why I hang up on my sister...

One morning it was snowing really hard in our state. She lives about 2 hours away. Her area generally gets A LOT more snow than we do over here. She called me to complain about the foot of snow that fell, and I said "Oh, wow, we only got about 3 inches." She said "F- you!!" and not in a I'm-kidding-sort-of-way. So I hung up.

^^^Any time someone starts cussing me out I hang up.

Anyway...yeah, mostly I think it's rude to hang up on people. But if they're being extremely rude to you, and you've told them before that they are, in fact, being totally inappropriate, but they keep it up, I don't see what's wrong with just terminating the conversation (because at that point, it's less a conversation and more just a waste of time).

Thats so weird to me! I can't imagine what must have gone through her mind to do that to you for no reason. It's almost more strange than it even is insulting. You are absolutely sure it wasn't in a playful way? Like, why would someone get mad about snow? Unless she thought you were rubbing it in or something? Peoples perceptions and interpretations of a situation can be so bizarre. Thats why I don't have many friends any more.

Yeh...she's kind of...I dunno, she's been this way as long as I can remember. The weirdest things will set her off, or make her cry, or she laughs at messed up stuff. Maybe she thought she was being funny (a possibility), but by this point in our lives I kinda think she ought to realize that I don't take well to that kind of thing. Heh, probably what she REALLY needs is like, therapy...

Anywho...hang ups...yeah, my husband hung up on me yesterday and I was all, "WHAT?!?"

...but he was just messing with me.
