I wrote this for all the people who can't get jobs (including me). Especially for the young people, who are automatically looked on as minimum wage workers.

In order to believe in God, we must believe in what God says. In a world that is material and very anti-supernatural, it is sometimes difficult to believe in things when we see destruction and terrible acts on even the most deserving people. However, God is the same God since the beginning of time. This means people have not changed and neither has evil. That also means that when the Bible was written, the same terror and destruction happened then to people as they do now. If we pay attention, to our own lives and our own spirituality, we can see the supernatural acts of God among us in this present age. With that said, the belief of God and what He says is justified in this time. We can soundly read his promises and apply it to our own lives today.

God has given us many promises. One way to reap the promises He has given us is to simply ask for them. Regarding prayer, you don’t need to be fancy with it. I used to think there was a specific formula involved (if you say this, God will do it, if you don’t, He won’t). Not true. God examines our hearts, not our fancy words. God created you with thoughts and personality and He’s perfectly fine with just a “You promised this Lord, so I declare it in Your name, in my life.” So declare it. Here are some verses I’ve specifically geared toward my own personal struggle: finding a job that will support me. There is so much fear not being able to provide for yourself, but God has written that he will for the rest of my life. So these are some promises and verses to help

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hasn’t given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind.

Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

John 14:27 I am leaving you with a gift- peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

Psalm 139:13 For you created my innermost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

God knows us, and what we need exactly when we need it. He created the whole universe, He created you, and He will not see us carry out anything in our lives that will jeopardize it. Trust in the most supreme Entity in the universe.

Just to add one to your list:

Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Or to borrow from a Chinese proverb, I hope a female horse comes your way.

I agree with everything you've written here,dread.. Knowing how very tough it is to look for a job , I did turn to the bible and to God. My mom would always remind me to "pray : and of course those people too who considered themselves successful also. Ive read articles too on how to pray effectively. And these are my learnings and Id be happy to share these to all of you: (I cant write them word for word, but they go like..)

"If you really want it, youll get it" --there was self-examination if I really want it.And I wanted it so badly.
-If you pray, pray like a child that speaks to his father".-- you know what its like when a child is bullied by his friends, and he tells it all to his father. And the father is like, "ok, Ill go talk to that person"..
--"pray without ceasing" ... "when you pray, believe you that you will receive"
__ " do your best and He will do rest' --hmm, our examinations here in my country are usually in english,so I read an english bible, almost every night (not King James as its a bit destructing, eheh), read articles in english and watch news in english.

Yep I got the job.For the 1st 3 yrs, it felt like a dream but the next years, it's become a nightmare---LOL!

What a wonderfully encouraging thread!!! Thank you for posting! I was in that very same situation of not having a job and know many others who are still in it. It may be hard, but trust God, He will provide. I especially loved the reminder at the end it really applies to every situation in our life! :)

Yeah, jobs can be scarce. A while back I lived in the number one state for unemployment. Jobs are hard to find because of competition. There are a lot of unemployed people out there with university degrees. If you find yourself up against a married man with a master's in English, then guess who that $9.50/hr McDonald's job is going to go to? Mr. Master of English. Then you're stuck asking your neighbors if you can mow their lawns or else applying for college, racking up the debt, doing internships for peanuts, etc.
