THE WORD IS OUR MIRROR
" For the Word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than any two-edged sword piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joint and the marrow. And it is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)
"This is the only book that you will ever read that can read your thoughts. This is the only book you will ever read that knows your heart. That's why when you read God's Word, it can cause you discomfort. That's why when you read it, it can make you uneasy because it is alive. It is the essence of God penetrating you. When this word speaks to you, it is always for a purpose, and God uses the Word in every occasion to bring you to the conformity of Jesus Christ.
We're not here to conform to each other. We're here to conform to Jesus Christ. When your speech becomes negative, God directs you to Scriptures about your tongue. It's an uncanny thing how that happens. When you need to forgive someone, you can't open the book without reading a verse about forgiveness. When you need to repent of something you have done, you will open the book, and repentance will leap off the page and stab you in the heart. When there is anger that needs to be dealt with, God will force you to look at yourself in the mirror of the Word of God.
King David wrote in Psalms 132, 'Search me, Oh, God, and know my heart.' When you say that, and you open the Word of God, you're not reading a book. You are looking into a mirror. James says that the Word of God is a mirror, and the mirror of the Word of God can reflect to you the person that you are. You can put the book down, and the next day pick it up, and it will show you who you are that day and that hour. There's not another book on the planet like that. That's why it is the living Holy Spirit anointed Word of God.
