I mean of no offence to anyone .
My struggle come in all sorts of questions i ask about Christianity but ill share with you one of the most troubling things with me as iam struggling to see a way around this issue , I have over the last couple of years met alot of nice people from different faiths and to cut a long story short my mind cannot accept that fact that they may be in hell due to being raised in the wrong part of the world or had no access to a bible .I almost get upset that someone such as ghandi could be cast to hell even though he was such a good man . P.s i again mean no offence and iam sorry if i caused some :( . x

God is going to judge men by thier work

Romans 2

[SUP]6 [/SUP]Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
[SUP]7 [/SUP]To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
[SUP]8 [/SUP]But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
[SUP]10 [/SUP]But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
[SUP]11 [/SUP]For there is no respect of persons with God.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
[SUP]13 [/SUP](For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

[SUP]15 [/SUP]Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

Useless bumper sticker answers that benefit no one.

To the OP. Because God says mans good works as filthy rags. Being good does not override the sin each of us performs. This is why Christ died. Because no matter how good anyone is, their sins are stronger. Sins need to be forgiven, and to be forgiven we need to turn to God. To realize that we need salvation. This is why 'good' people can still go to hell. Because, in the end goodness does not equate to sinless righteousness. Goodness is mans measuring stick of man. God does not judge us by our standards, but rather by His.

I struggle in that area, too, Grummessi.

I would recommend the book "The Holiness of God" by R.C. Sproul. It helped answer my questions about God's "fairness" (because we, as humans, often question His divine authority) and helped me understand all of that more.

I know that's not a super helpful answer, but if you can get your hands on that book, I'd recommend it.

People will always suggest books and different ideas to get around the fact that belief in a God who will eternally punish those who do not believe in His intangible form basically makes you a prejudiced and narcissistic bigot, oppressing and imposing your theology onto those around you.

I would suggest not going down that path. You seem like a lovely boy, don't let it wreck you.

This is a faith walk, not a meat party. You can see everyone around you but you can't see God, yet we all have this yearning and desire to be accepted, and we all believe in something greater than ourselves. Follow that— it's what I did, and it's what brought me to Christ.

All you'll get here is people sympathizing with you going "I wish hell wasn't real as well" (which effectively is... my gosh, I'm not even going to go there), then those who will try and tell you that you need to admire God's justice more, those who will start going off on a tangent and by the third page everyone's arguing about whether God planted seeds or grew the trees himself to avoid the photosynthesis process.

Pick up a Bible, read through Romans and 2 Corinthians— then get off this website as fast as you can.

If it's in the word of God/Bible, then we must believe it. If it's not in the word of God/Bible, then all we are doing is adding to it or taking away from it by how we think and feel. In reading the word, we must read what the writer is trying to tell us, in the whole of the letter to certain Christian leaders and their churches; and not take things out of context to mean something totally different than what was actually written. When listening to any pastor, preacher or teacher of the word, DON'T TAKE THEIR WORD FOR ANYTHING, IT'S NOT WISE. GO TO THE WORD YOURSELF AND STUDY/READ FOR YOURSELF WHAT THE WORD OF GOD TELLS US ALL! If that pastor or preacher told it right, it will be there right before our very own eyes. If not, then it's our own fault if we let ourselves be lead as if blind!

I'm a bit confused about most of your post, but this part in particular. Is there something wrong with wishing hell wasn't real? Are we not to admire God's justice? Can outside books not help our understanding of the Bible? Obviously we must make sure that they align with God's word, but I've found several books to be helpful in my walk of faith.

There are accounts of people from all over the globe who have received the message of Christ by visions and by other supernatural means. Do not think everyone in a certain area of the world will perish because some online map shows their country as a different religion besides Christianity. Many people must hide their faith in Christ because they will persecuted, jailed, or killed. Imagine if your pity for them makes you to reject Christ and perish while they have accepted Christ and receive eternal life based on the God's Son's precious blood having been shed on the cross.

Don't let that happen! Hold onto whatever faith you have and trust our Almighty and kind God to do what is right. Praying for you. God bless!

If you are killed in the name of the Lord, you are saved. I was actually curious about this issue to. Then the Lord reminded me that He knows His people. He knows our hearts, and He knows those who desperately seek Him. God will make a way, when there seems to be no way.

God bless.

In my own case, I don't have so much a problem believing like a Christian as I do BEING a Christian. To be honest, these people here at CC and other's I've met shame me. Daily. I don't have their heart. I feel like I am the deceit. I can't relate to some of the feelings other's have experienced and the love in their hearts they've shared. Some folks here have said I was a troll and a bully and a fool and frankly, they might be right! I can't see the way I am.

All I know is that you ought to listen to these fine people Grummessi and hear with your heart.

Yes. I was just thinking that. Because there are many religious groups that are not Christian; who think they are Christian; who say they are Christian and are not. Mormons are not Christian. Jehovah's Witnesses are not Christian. Christian Science are not Christian, and many others.

God tells us, " - - we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; - -." Isaiah 64.

And Jesus said, "I am the way, the life and the truth/reality." John 14.

Buddha is not the way; Islam is not the way; Hinduism is not the way. Mormon is not the way. Jehovah's Witnesses is not the way. Scientology is not the way, etc. etc. None of these mentioned believe that Jesus is Lord, that He is the Son of God and that He is God.

It basically comes down to a matter of trust. Do we trust God? Do we trust Him to judge fairly? To forgive fairly? Satan whispered into Eve's ear so long ago, and is still whispering in ours, "is He REALLY a loving God? He's keeping something from you"...and we're still believing it, unless we seek to know the TRUTH which comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Read and study His Word and pray for the Holy Spirit to open your mind and heart to God's love and wisdom.

As we develop a relationship with God, we will begin to trust Him with His own creation...other people. They are His, He loves them tremendously...so much that everyone is given a free choice; He will not force Himself on anyone. For those who never hear the good news, God will take care of them and we have to trust those people to Him. He may be prompting YOU to be the one to share the good news :).

God will make provision for those who have not had access to His written Word. God judges the heart condition and He judges fairly. Hell has been defined as a place "where God is not". It is so bad, that it is described as a lake of fire. God's presence surrounds us here, right now....we really don't know what it would be like to be 'where He is not'...but it must be awful! I think it would like living in a room of mirrors for eternity.

We cannot fully know or understand how God runs things...but when we trust Him, we don't have to know and understand everything. And we can't because we are human and He is God...our Creator. We can't think the way He does.

This is what 'faith' is all about. It means taking the revelation that we do have and praising Him for it and then trusting Him with the rest. For me the definition of 'faith' is believing that God is an all-loving God, no matter what things look like here on earth. Read Genesis....it's helps to understand how we got in the mess we're in.

Satan will do all he can to keep you from a saving faith...so you need to know his tactics. Read the Bible (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth)....may your will be made willing and the Spirit open you eyes and ears to what the Holy of Holies has to say to you :).
