need some advice

ok i was wondering, magic the gathering, the card game, is it good to play it as a christian or no? now i have played it, and have a decent number of cards and a few decks, but i'm a casual player only playing when i'm asked to play which is usually on friday otherwise i don't really play it. i was wondering if it was ok to play or not, if not i'll sell my cards. Suggestions are very welcome and thanks to everyone that replies. God bless.

Yes it's ok, why wouldn't it be? The name is just "Magic" you're not actually doing or using magic lol. Just playing with some nerdy pieces of cardboard :p

I know the game. Absolutely solid. Love it.
And no. I've never felt the holy spirit call me to give up Magic.
But in all things man, if it's not in the bible, and you don't feel convicted in the spirit about it, then you're fine.
Don't let the hype of things carry you away either. If you really feel like it's a maybe, give the cards to your parents to hold for a few weeks, pray about it, and see if you feel the same way afterwards.
But yeah dude, I think you'll be fine.

well the reason i ask is because i was told from a friend of mine that he felt wrong about the game like we shouldn't play it because of whats behind it. that's the reason i ask. I'm not addicted by any means of the spectrum and would give it up if i was told to. but thanks for the advice guys. i hope i can hear what others have to say.

What is God trying to tell you? Pray about it and ask God what he wants you to do? It's different for every one and in my own personal situation I had gotten rid of some music and books. I threw them down the incinerator and gave them up to God as a burnt offering. Seriously, that's I did and boy it was a weight off my shoulders. I had a sense of conviction to get rid of those things in my own situation.
