I wouldn't call myself a "gamer," but I play some stuff here and there, mostly with my dad (I qualify it as our father-son bonding time).

I was really into RPGs as a kid, and to a slightly lesser extent, action/adventure and platformer games. My dad is hooked on the Borderlands franchise, so we play co-op on that.

Ive been a big fan of PC games since PC games been around, one of the first true multiplayer games was unreal tournament was a lot fun, other games panzer general, allied general the battlefield games and of coarse my favorite game, a space game called Freelancer which was completely modable for which I mainly modded the star background spheres, planet skins etc.. Lol. What is cool about freelancer it's very easy to play a lot like how battlefield plays simple controls etc.. Then Along came a game called take command second manassas by mad minute games. which also is completely modable. I didn't really play the game i just designed trees grasses sky's land textures sound files etc..my user name was Vonviper hehe.. I got pretty good at editing game files etc. on the website for mad minute games forums dig deep and some of things I did are there. like a map I did Chattanooga...
the makers of the game liked what I was doing and hired me part time to do their sound files on their latest game scourge of war Gettysburg. I spent many hours producing sound files for the game after it was complete I was so burnt out that I just stopped playing PC games all together it's been years since I've played any. But recently I've gotten the itch again to play though I'm waiting on a PC game called Star Citizen I completely Love space games. Star citizen has a simi working game that can be downloaded and played squadron 42 I think it's called..
That's awesome mate. I used to enjoy dabbling in editors myself. UnrealEd and UDK and also cryengine. I'm terrible at finishing what I start but I did complete one unreleased multiplayer map for Crysis . I've recently been thinking of sparking it up again and designing another level. I checked out cryengine but its subscriber based now so I redownloaded Crysis so I can use its level editor. I have to remember how I completed the last map I did, THOROUGH PLANNING before opening the editor lol.

I am not a gamer but I play one MMO called Star Trek Online and some Facebook games. I have played some games on the NES (on a copycat version called the Polystation), Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Playstation, Playstation 2 (a long time ago it seems). Not sure I ever played the Nintendo Gamecube or the Xbox if I remember correctly and definitely never played the Dreamcast. Played some Game Boy Color and never played Game Boy Advance games, until I played them on the emulator. Played The Brick Game also known as Tetris when that was the thing. I also play Solitaire on the computer. The Facebook games I play right now are a hidden object game called Gardens of Time, a Star Trek browser type game called Star Trek: Alien Domain, a Christian game called Journey of Jesus (still wish Journey of Moses was not canned), and a match-3 game called Candy Crush Soda Saga. Now, though I can launch from one platform so accessing those games without opening up Facebook and just using my Facebook login for the client is awesome. Still wished in our world, I did not have a target on my back because I am a Christian and now they just want to throw me into a closet and reeducate me. So sad. God bless. :)

Thank you yes I was surely humbled that they ask me to be part of the team of designers I didn't make a ton money or anything the game wasn't big time or anything but its wasn't about the money anyways, it was just being apart of it that was exciting for me lol...

Hey wow thanks a lot for the tip on no mans sky that's my kind of game sci fi indeed it looks really cool I to will be keeping a eye on that also :) :)

Game designing is getting very complex but surely is pleasurable in creating envoriments for gaming etc.. I surely would say go for it, designing is a joy for sure it can be tedious but there's nothing like creating something in a gaming envoriment..

I can totally see what you're saying!

Anytime! I'm really hoping for it to have a co-op/multiplayer aspect to it because all my family would probably play that together haha.

I could see how game design would be complex, my biggest concern doing so would be that I know some of the bigger , crazy ideas I come up with may not even be possible, with current technology lol But small games would be just as fun, I would think. Have you ever heard of Terraria, by any chance? I could see making something like that, but my own version!

That's awesome! I loved Borderlands and it's silly humor. I swear nothing beats co-op games!
