Wow, did this thread go dead?! Lol. Here's an acoustic and live version of a beautiful song: Chris August - Starry Night (acoustic) - WinterJam 2011 PA - YouTube. August reminds me of my friends I used to sing with. I'd like to reconnect with some of them and do some singing like we used to in subways and malls and parks and stuff. Didn't think about it till I saw this 'Starry Night' rendition.

Some Lyrics:

"From the autumn leaves, that will ride the breeze
To the faith it takes, to pray and sing
From the painted sky, to my plank filled eye
He is God of all, He is everything
Waohhh..."

Evergreen, Switchfoot is a good band that seems to have a heart for others.

Here's a good and plain song (no 'extras' on this one; I can listen to it throughout the day): Blessed Be His Name - Jesus Christ - YouTube. Not the best video, but the song is beautiful.

I can't confirm that the following song necessarily purports a spiritual theme. It's one of those that's really up to interpretation, as I don't think the artist has established underlying meaning. Still, it can be construed as spiritual. :) Also, the band member that wrote the lyrics is a practicing Catholic, if I'm not mistaken.

Enjoy - I hope! (Those not fond of heavy rock/metal, consider yourself forewarned!)

Or you can simply read the lyrics.

Lyrics:

This is so hard for me
To find the words to say
My thoughts are standing still

Captive inside of me
All emotions start to hide
And nothing's getting through

Watch me
Fading
I'm losing
All my instincts
Falling into darkness

Tear down these walls for me
Stop me from going under
You are the only one who knows
I'm holding back

It's not too late for me
To keep from sinking further
I'm trying to find my way out
Tear down these walls for me now

So much uncertainty
I don't like this feeling
I'm sinking like a stone

Each time I try to speak
There's a voice I'm hearing
And it changes everything

Watch me
Crawl from
The wreckage
Of my silence
Conversation
Failing

Tear down these walls for me
Stop me from going under
You are the only one who knows
I'm holding back

It's not too late for me
To keep from sinking further
I'm trying to find my way out
Tear down these walls

Every time you choose to turn away
Is it worth the price you pay
Is there someone who will wait for you
One more time
One more time

Watch me
Fading
I'm losing
All my instincts
Falling into darkness

Tear down these walls for me
Stop me from going under
You are the only one who knows
I'm holding back

It's not too late for me
To keep from sinking further
I'm trying to find my way out
Tear down these walls for me now

Tear down these walls for me
It's not too late for me
Tear down these walls for me

Michael W. Smith has some good tunes also. Some aren't into the mellow/steady rock genre, but I think he's talented, and has a few catchy songs.

Girl, I listened to that song. It's a pretty cool song.

Leigh Nash is one of those people, like Michael W. Smith, that can probably make any song sound great because of her voice and talent. Here's a beautiful song of hers (I admit I'm biased because of her voice) called Breathe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDSO04nU5jY. And the lyrics are so beautiful too!

Wow, I just played that Leigh Nash (Sixpence None the Richer) song, 'Breathe' and was like hello. Here are some of its beautiful lyrics:

Covered by the evening sky
I turn my gaze to where Your Kingdom lies
deep inside me
A silent whisper in my mind
Sweet surrender to Your Love Divine
Peace enfolding

In the stillness I empty my soul
and Your healing presence flows

As I breathe the air of Heaven
Drawing in Your Fragrance...

Nice. I forgot the words to that song!

Jamie Grace has some really good music. I saw her sing 'With You' and am listening to it now. It's a nice song. "When I'm with you-oooo--ooo" :D

Here's a good worship song: My Romance Rick Pino ft. Kari Jobe(LYRICS) - YouTube. I like the very beginning where he says, "Unto You be all the glory." I mean, that's the summary of everything!

If you enjoy Rock (Fireflight, Skillet, Red, etc.) then you'll dig my band's latest song:

Here's what one of our fans had to say about it:

"The Enemy has waged a war on the family in America since before we were formed. It has become a common acceptance that a man will leave his wife and kids, however, this attack has taken a new form. It's no longer just the man leaving, but the woman is now beginning to be the one who leaves. Leaving her husband and kids, sometimes after years of marriage, in disbelief, as the woman they have know, begins to act totally opposite of her normal behavior. I know too many families that have gone through this, are going through it, or are on the verge of going through this. This band has written a song based off a person they know that went through this, and I applaud them. This is important! If you are struggling, or facing a situation... take a step back and really think, re-evaluate, pray, and seek God about the situation. You are hurting more than just yourself! If you know a couple who may be going through this, pray for them, sometimes they cannot/have not prayed for themselves! If you are single or a couple, keep this in mind, we get married because we love the person, we love the person because we got married. Love is more than just feelings, it’s a commitment."
