Most Christians talk first, and follow Jesus later (if ever). They assume that is what you are doing as well.

Although to some extent I think kenisyes is correct, I think there is a bigger and deeper issue at stake. Even while Jesus himself was walking the earth, in Matthew 10 the disciples were told that "You will be hated by everyone because of me[Jesus]". I haven't spent a lot of time thinking about why this may be, but I don't think that it necessarily means that you(or christians in general) are doing something wrong.

Sometimes,it can be because people see the Christians that behave badly and judge, the rest according to those few.

There will always be wolves among the Sheep,Christian is just a title unless it is being lived up to.But, I am only stating fact not referring to any one person.People are not perfect, even Christians. You just have to realize it is not all perfect.Forgive those that offend you,if any have.

How can they hate God if they dont know God?
Romans 1

[SUP]18 [/SUP]The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, [SUP]19[/SUP]since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. [SUP]20 [/SUP]For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. [SUP]22 [/SUP]Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools [SUP]23 [/SUP]and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. [SUP]25 [/SUP]They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. [SUP]27 [/SUP]In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. [SUP]29 [/SUP]They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, [SUP]30 [/SUP]slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; [SUP]31 [/SUP]they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. [SUP]32 [/SUP]Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Satan hates the cross. The Mormons refuse to have cross adorn their churches. The Jehovah's witness' claim Jesus did not die on a cross but a "torture stake". Catholics crosses depict Jesus still in agony on the cross.

Here Bruce R McConkie, LDS "Apostle", shows another reason why Mormons belittle the cross. Mormons teach the suffering of Christ was greater in the garden of Gethsemane and they teach the attonment did not happen on the cross but in the garden of Gethsamne!
The sectarian world falsely supposes that the climax of his (Christ's) torture and suffering was on the cross . . . a view which they keep ever before them by the constant use of the cross as a religious symbol. The fact is that intense and severe as the suffering was on the cross, yet the great pains were endured in the Garden of Gethsemane. (Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine 555)
Here is a short video discussing the act of a mormon bishop who ripped off a girls cross necklace from her neck.
[video=youtube;XLoIWrJY4kU]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLoIWrJY4kU[/video]

Jehovah's Witness' not only hate the cross they say it to our faces. The claim Jesus died on a torture stake is false as Scripture says Jesus had a sign above his head. The JW's claim above Jesus' head were his hands. The say he died on a torture pole or stake and claim the symbol of the cross is satanic.

The cross is the single most important event in human history because through it we can be saved.

You know, this is quite true. There's nothing more uncomfortable to me than someone walking up trying to save me by handing me tracts and whipping out a bible and I'm a Christian! Quite frankly, I was saved by Grace and was introduced to that mercy by watching the ACTIONS of others and understanding the loving concern they had for some one like me! Someone they didn't really know; just a fellow human being.

Why do people hate Christians?
Very often it is because they lack love and are hypocrites and the worlding picks this up straight away and despises them for it...and quite rightly so! :p

Before we even attempt to witness for Christ, we need to climb down from any high horse that we might be on and clothe ourselves with GENUINE humility and love!

Yahweh Shalom...

We are notorious for being narrow minded and exclusive towards certain groups of people on the account of our constant claim that we are pleasing a higher deity by our moral performance. The fact that we are evangelical and trying to get other people to do the same gets on people's nerves a lot because they don't understand why they cannot simply have their beliefs.

Unfortunately because so many Christians are like this, the label of "Christian" begins to be a negative thing for those who are inclusive and wish to love and befriend those who do not think or feel the same way as them.

I think people hate Christians because Christians are often known for exactly what they were called to do which is love, Instead of loving on sinners Christians often condescend or condemn them or judge them. . . which is sad because in reality Everyone is broken in different ways. some Christians forget the only thing setting us apart from the world is the fact that we walk in faith.

I don't think they *hate* Christians. Hate is such a strong word. I think they just feel uncomfortable because they may have known Christians in their lives who were judgmental and hypocritical toward them and they put their defenses up when they meet new Christians now.
