The biblical origin of evil is attributed to the actions of a particular fallen angel which lost its original position in the heavenly realm by desiring to overthrow God. A battle ensued, and the leader of this rebellion, who many call Lucifer, with a following of approximately one third of the angels of heaven, were defeated and subsequently cast out of heaven, down to earth.

Isaiah 14:12 ... How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning.
We know that Jesus was present during this event according to the gospel of Luke,

10:18 Behold I saw satan fall like lightening from Heaven.
We also know that Michael, a captain in the Lords angelic army, fought against this creature, which in Rev.12:7, is called the dragon.

The name Lucifer does not appear in the NIV text, but has been changed to ‘O morning star’, son of the dawn, possibly because of its latin origin, which means bearer of light. This creature is thought to be Eve’s tempter in Genesis chpt. 3, which is also the origin of man’s sin which caused a curse to be brought upon the earth. In this text, this creature is called ‘the serpent’, but is believed to be the same adversary which warred against God in heaven, and the same creature referred to as satan throughout OT and NT scriptures.

In Isaiah 45:7 God is credited for creating both light and darkness, both peace and evil.

In the NIV text the word ’evil’ has been changed to ‘disaster’.

In OT texts satan is rarely credited with evil acts or occurrences. Evil is rarely ascribed to anyone but God. Some exceptions to this are found in the 1st and 2nd chapters of Job and in Zechariah 3. In these texts this creature, satan, is in the position of the accuser and one who opposes, afflicts and torments. In OT scripture there are no clear accounts of demonic possession. It is not until the revealing of the messiah in the NT, that a more in depth understanding received and an explanation of this creature’s agenda is given.

In this text satan is called ‘the thief’ as Jesus explains satan’s intent.

John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal, kill and to destroy

While there are acts of sin/evil which could be correctly defined as rebellion against God, or disobedience, satan is thought to be the personification of evil, having no good attribute, and is thought to be ultimately responsible for the spiritual blindness of mankind. This creature, as well as every fallen angel, unlike man, has already been judged and will be afforded no mercy or salvation, but has an appointed time for its destruction.

Those who believe on the Lord/the Anointed one/the Messiah/The Christ, and repent of evil, are promised forgiveness for sins, deliverance from hell and a place in Heaven. Removing evil from earth is not the responsibility of the followers of Christ/Christians, but simply to receive and to spread the good news or gospel, while operating in the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells in those who believe, and to await the return of the Messiah/Jesus/The Son of God.

Adams sin which caused God to curse the universe.

Adams disobedience to God. And because of his disobedience God withdrew himself.

Evil happens because people continue to refuse to listen to God. And if God went around policing the world we would have no free will. So if God prevented all evil we would no longer have any free will because he would control us in every single way, the way we act, speak, and think.

Solution is start listening to God, accept Jesus Christ as your savior and you can be a part of the future world to come where there will be no evil, no death, pain, or misery.

i tend to think of it in the words of Jesus. If you make a tree good then it will be good and if you make a tree bad then it will be bad. so, some of those dwelling on earth have through the acts of other men become bad or evil. Something has hurt them and so they decide to become bad or evil. Or they may not even know they are being evil, their faith and their power are just too overwhelming for the nature and spirit of another and therefore they cause harm. some people actually believe it is their purpose to be evil and cause destruction to other's lives. yes, some parts of ourselves need to be destroyed so there is growth and healing and maturity but when it is from GOD it is never harmful, always exact, GOD does not torture, man does.

Think of it this way God wanted Children that loved him not because he told them to but because they chose to. So he created humans with the capability to choose to love him and his qualities, which are good, or the opposite which is evil.He creates angels as well that watch over them and protect them.He already knows that some angels will choose to do evil, because they dont want to protect these measly men and women when angels are much higher beings. So before he even created either the angels or man he provided a sacrifice from his own Spirit his Son.These bad angels get cast down with man to try to deceive them just as they had always wanted to be Gods themselves. They get the chance to be Gods of this earth in essence and try to destroy man but only by the same way God gave them the choice. Yet God did not leave man to die for his choice instead he suffered on the cross and died and was raised to defeat these fallen angels so that we may live forever in heaven with him as his children. So even evil has its reason(funny to think Satan really has no power), its weeding out the good from the bad by faith in the only one the angels or man should ever have trusted in God himself. Emmanuel god in the flesh.

I have some answers for you, evil is in the world because of the fall. Evil got into the world because of our weakness and separation from god. Evil is happening because we are inherently flawed and we have strayed from God, and if you do not know evil how can you k now His goodness and love? And the solution? Everyone coming together in Christ, setting aside their differences and working for peace.

I agree that man is inherently inclined to do evil and by nature tends toward evil works, however it was never God's intention for man to know evil. Evil was not permitted so that God's goodness and love would be known in a greater way. Evil spread like a disease throughout the earth following the fall of man for one reason, disobedience.

Man was instructed not to eat from the tree of the "knowledge of good and evil". Prior to that point man did not have knowledge of evil, nor was it God's intention for man to have this knowledge. God was looking for Sonship, or a relationship with his creation, as he does even now. The choice to know evil was man's choice alone. God was content for His creation to know only His love, and one day we will return to the former relationship of knowing no evil.

Not quite my friend, before the existence of man, there was only God, and His Kingdom, and the word of God clearly states that there is no darkness in him. I'm not sure how familiar you are with the bible, but man himself was created perfect. It was not until disobedience to God's instruction, that evil entered, not only into man's environment, but into man himself, perpetuated through his offspring.

Each person is entitled to practice their version of Christianity or any philosophy, but the claim that evil is present in order that God's goodness may somehow be accentuated, is not a biblical concept.

Yes, I believe I understood you correctly, however, contrary to your statement, in actuality good can exist without evil. The kingdom of heaven is not subject to this world's perception or logic. The kingdom of heaven existed without the presence of evil, as did man before the fall . Earthly concepts such as Yin Yang or a balance of positive and negative, right and wrong, good and evil, are not essential to Heaven's existence nor the existence of goodness.

We know that evil exists in this world in both the internal and external make up of this earthly existence, however, evil as we know it, will one day be removed from the earth.

Not at all. If this were the case, Hell would have existed before satan was cast from heaven, but in fact hell was created as a place for the devil and his angels. Prior to the fall of satan, who many incorrectly call Lucifer, hell did not exist, nor did devils, nor did satan. This being was simply an angel, a created being, serving in a particular capacity in God's kingdom.

This angel rebelled and formed an army of approx. 1/3 of the angels of Heaven, there was war in Heaven, but this angel was unsuccessful in his attempted coup de'etat, and was then cast from Heaven to earth with the angels who rebelled. These angels no longer possess the beauty or purpose they once held, but have been judged and will reap their eventual destruction.

Heaven will continue to exist, as promised by God in his word. There will be a new Heaven, and a new Earth, and both death and Hell will be cast into a lake of fire. Heaven's existence relies solely upon God's existence.
