Yep we watched "Greenland"(good movie) it's about the same as this where the Gov. has a safe place for themselves and those they need and they go there and leave the rest of the earth to perish.
Thanks! I will have to look into Greenland... is it on Netflix?

I watched a George Clooney movie recently called The Midnight Sky... he starred (looking quite old) and directed. Sci fi; the year: 2049. Somehow, suddenly (? they are short on details about the whole end-of-the-world thing) humanity has destroyed Earth, and almost everyone is dead. Everyone but George, of course ;) George is stationed at a polar outpost after spending his life passionately mapping the heavens, and his final goal before he too falls prey to whatever has killed everyone else is to inform a space mission team returning from a moon of Jupiter expedition to turn around and go back to that habitable orb so that human life may begin anew. It was a bit slow moving, somewhat suspenseful, and poignant. I enjoyed it :)

Really? That is not what I have heard, regarding repeat bouts of COVID, which some have said cause irreparable organ damage.

But what do I know? There is so much conflicting info and misinformation...
I did not know about repeat bouts. That is a good reason to get the vaccine if you have already gotten over it.

When members of my family had it and we began to see what it does just about everyone in my family googled it. We searched for "covid -19 autopsies",,, "covid 19 organ damage"(things like that/change the wording around) but from what they know each time a person gets it it weakens your lungs, heart ect. Why is that it "clots" your blood so the blood clots find a spot in an vein somewhere and so whats pasted that gets no oxygen, nutrition ect. and kills spots on the different organs. So each time you catch it it does X amount of damage so eventually catching it over and over you will develop "preexisting conditions".

Many on the front line don't want to take the vaccine because they are "unsure of long term affects".

https://www.yahoo.com/news/vaccine-rollout-hits-snag-health-153322509.html
It is sad that health care workers reason that known risks of COVID are ignorable but no known risks of the vaccine must be feared. So weird that those on the front lines of watching the devastation cannot reason this out. But I don't think there are really that many of them. There could be many among RNs.

One thing I suspect and this will probably cause a lot of anger toward me for expressing it, is that many RN types have two years of tech training and are not medical scientist or experts by any means. And yet due to the fallen nature of man many like to strut before others as being some kind of doctor before their friends and family. Ask them how the mRNA vaccine works and watch how few can even get close to the answer. Ask them how the flu vaccine works and see how many can not give you the answer. I get the flu shot every year and have not got an answer yet. The best answer I have gotten so far was when the RN put on her glasses to read the bottle and gave me the name of the dosage which she did not have before I asked. I was able to google it on my own. Now I love RNs so don't stone me. I just dont consider them a source of expertise when it comes to vaccines. Unless of course I wanted to know how to inject it. So it should not surprise me that there would be lots of ignorance about vaccine science or not knowing the difference between myth and facts among health care workers that have very little training just to do their required tasks and they are just as gullible to myths and scare tactics from social media as anyone who does not wear scrubs.

They are also (from my experience) and from reading about it, known for NOT telling vaccine patients that they can expect mild side effects like fever in about 8 hours. This causes many uneducated people to say that the Flu vaccine gave them the flu. Fortunately there was so much public broadcasting in media and social media to expect this with the COVID vaccine that it stopped this ignorance. I hope that going forward in the future no one who gets a fever after a flu shot will say they got the flu from the flu shot. I hope that the COVID vaccine is educating them about how the immune system will give a mild fever when creating antibodies.

I don't understand why someone who have recovered would be concerned. They are now immune.
Now, we will have to wait and see if they get it again next year, are their antibodies and tcell response going to give them long term immunities or will they be vulnerable again after these antibodies fade, like the flu.
Some people have gotten it twice already in Asia. I also do not know if its possible to catch the "Regular" Corona first, and then right after to catch the mutated version that is now spreading in Finland, Spain, South Africa, United Kingdom, etc.

Miami Doctor Dies After Receiving First Dose Of Pfizer Vaccine
FRIDAY, JAN 08, 2021 - 9:50
A doctor in Miami has died two weeks after receiving his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech jab.
The love of my life, my husband Gregory Michael MD an Obstetrician that had his office in Mount Sinai Medical Center in...
Heidi Neckelmann, the widow of Dr. Gregory Michael, said her husband was vaccinated on Dec. 18, and died 16 days later. He was 56 years old, according to Sputnik. Patients typically receive a second dose of the vaccine 3 weeks after the first. Neckelmann also shared the news in a Facebook post, cited above.
"In my mind his death was 100 percent linked to the vaccine. There is no other explanation," she said. "He was in very good health. He didn’t smoke, he drank alcohol once in a while but only socially. He worked out, we had kayaks, he was a deep sea fisherman," she added.
What's more, the doctor started to experience unusual symptoms, and three days after vaccination, small spots began to appear on Gregory Michael's feet and hands. In response, he went to the emergency room at Mount Sinai. As his blood count was not in the normal ranges, he was admitted to the ICU, his wife told Sputnik. Shortly after, he suffered a stroke and died.

As his blood count was not in the normal ranges, he was admitted to the intensive care unit, according to Heidi Neckelmann. Unfortunately, shortly after, he suffered a stroke and died.
According to Darren Caprara, director of operations at the Miami-Dade medical examiner’s office, Gregory Michael's death is the first that the county medical examiner's office has seen where a COVID-19 vaccine could have played a role.
Earlier, Carlos Palestino, the brother-in-law of Mexican doctor Karla Cecilia Perez, was paralyzed hours after receiving the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, according to reports.
There have been several anecdotal reports about patients dying after receiving the vaccine in Europe, the US and elsewhere, in both trials, and during the emergency phase of the rollout.

The idea of blood clots aggravates my "health anxiety". One of those things that scares me, probably because clots can be so sneaky.

They are investigating. It seems he had a extremely rare problem with his blood and a team of doctors had been working on him for two weeks, so there is that. I will wait until the investigation is complete to determine if the vaccine was related. Since we are near 18 million or more that have received the vaccine it is going to be difficult to alarm anyone with these kinds of stories. Logic screams (probably not related to the vaccine) But if it is maybe a test can be used to exclude people with whatever condition he had in his blood. No reason to ignore the 18 million who will now be immune from COVID19 (after 2nd dose) with no side affects. I know that I am stating the painfully obvious but it is what I do.

Horowitz: New studies show robust immunity among health care workers from COVID reinfection six months after infection.

Natural immunity is working

U.S. Rep. Kay Granger (R-Texas) tested positive for the virus despite having had the first round of the Pfizer vaccine. (Photo by Caroline Brehman/CQ-Roll Call, Inc via Getty Images)
DANIEL HOROWITZ
Nearly a year into this virus, it has become clear that, after up to a third of the people in this country already contracted it, according to some estimates, there is nothing we can do to stop it through non-pharmaceutical interventions. Yet, while the government and media continue to push the vaccine (and masks, of course) with religious fervor, they act as if natural infection itself confers little or no immunity. In reality, as with any virus, it likely confers more immunity than a vaccine.

The result? Not a single symptomatic reinfection and just two people who had previously tested positive for antibodies wound up testing positive via PCR testing for a presumed asymptomatic reinfection.

The important fact to remember is that immunity does not necessarily mean one cannot have the presence of the virus detected in his body thereafter. What it usually means is that one who is infected, particularly if one had at least a moderate case of it, will not suffer meaningful or serious symptoms from a reinfection. This is likely true of most viruses – whether immunity was conveyed through infection or a vaccine – but we don't test 1 million people per day for other viruses. Were we to do so, we would likely discover rare but measurable instances of asymptomatic "reinfection."

Earlier this week, Texas Congresswoman Kay Granger tested positive for the virus despite having had the first round of the Pfizer vaccine. She experienced no symptoms. It's true that she had not been given the second shot yet, however, the same way such findings shouldn't be alarming with regard to a vaccine, they shouldn't be alarming with regard to natural immunity. If anything, this study shows a higher rate of immunity conveyed upon people with natural infection than what has been proven so far from the vaccine. But the government refuses to even entertain the idea of natural immunity from what has anyway become a near-unavoidable transmission of the virus.

These results jive with another recent British study from Newcastle University researchers published last week in the Journal of Infection. They detected 1,038 confirmed infections (through a mix of antibody and PCR tests) among a pool of 11,103 health care workers during the first wave of the virus from March 10-July 6.

During the second wave in the fall, they retested 128 of the health care workers who had previous confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection and 2,115 who had not. While the sample size of this study is smaller, they found zero new infections among those previously infected. At the same time, they observed a 13.7% infection rate among the group of people who were not previously infected.

None of the 1,038 health care workers who had confirmed prior infections experienced symptoms during the second wave. In those previously infected, there was a median of 173 days from the date of first confirmed positive result to the end-point of the analysis period confirmed with a negative test, which would again show roughly six months of immunity and counting.

Obviously, it's going to take more time to study the question of immunity in the long-term, especially for those who only got the virus asymptomatically or who get it again asymptomatically, but the notion that someone could get a serious case twice is unfounded at this point and is very unlikely.

Until now the assumption is that because antibodies seem to wane after three months and are non-existent for others who have been infected that there is no immunity. However, there is strong evidence that the body produces memory T-cells that convey long-term immunity long after the antibodies wane. Yes, it will take longer to definitively prove that fact, but why do our political leaders continue to make negative assumptions that always seem to defy known precedents of immunobiology while promoting draconian and devastating policies based on those unproven and increasingly unlikely assumptions?

"Oh, asymptomatic individuals are driving the spread, even though they never typically do, so we must assume everyone is sick and quarantine the world."

"Oh, this virus doesn't convey immunity, so we must do this forever."

"Oh, masks stop the spread of respiratory viruses, despite universal belief they did not and despite 9 months of them failing to stop the spread."

Why is it that the onus is upon us to conclude with certainty that these premises are wrong, instead of them having to prove that their premises are correct? Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? They are relying on the social conditioning ensuring that a lie repeated enough times becomes true regardless of the science.

POLL: Do you want to go back to 2020?
A new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine by U.K. scientists tracked antibody levels of 12,541 health care workers in Oxford University hospitals for six months. A total of 1,265 tested positive for antibodies at some point during the study period, of which 68% recall having had symptoms associated with SARS-CoV-2. They specifically observed the period of the second wave of infection to see if health care workers, who are disproportionately exposed to the virus relative to other people, would be re-infected.

I thought Greenland was with Gerard Butler? Just wondering which movie is being discussed...I did want to watch the one with Gerard Butler. They still want 20.00 buckaroos to watch it with direct TV. I always wait until they get reasonable.

So it is that the movie with the big meteor?

I am expecting a well crafted explanation from the antivaccine proponents to be released about 2022 as to why herd immunity was not achieved by the vaccines and that it would have happened without them.

But for the immediate reality this is a great informative interview that covers many of the things we have discussed at some point on these threads.

Focus on the Family interview.

I am from the UK and very international in my outlook. What we are seeing in the USA is absolutely shameful.

You don't know what you have until it is taken away from you.

You shall know them by their fruits. We have been shown mercy, grace and forgiveness by our heavenly father and like Jesus we are expected to behave like that. Christian life is all about maturing in Christ and growing up.. and becoming more like Him in character. If you can't see that in the person that says it all.

As Christians we should be looking for evidenced based information and they are a lot of good experts who have tremendous integrity and might not be my kind of Christian BUT that doesn't give me the right to CLAIM I am the only right kind of Christian... how dare I judge the soul of another human being as the only true judge is Jesus!! But God has said their fruits will give me the discernment I need to choose wisely. Please note God's image in all of us as HE is our creator.

So just because someone claims to be a christian and supports all the policies I like but their fruit and character says otherwise there must be a warning bell in my mind. WORDS MATTER as it leads to thoughts and then actions and habits and CHARACTER.

Someone can be honest and full of integrity but have different beliefs or policies doesn't mean I have to DEMONISE them but my responsibility is look at the overall CHARACTER of the person and the servanthood of the person. I am extremely imperfect and so are all our political systems and all of us. HENCE WE ALL NEED JESUS DESPERATELY TO DO THE RIGHT THING BY HIM.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven Matthew 5 1-3

You thought your message so vitally important that you posted the exact same thing on a ridiculous 8 different threads?

Well I’m from the USA, and what I’m seeing from the U.K. is absolutely shameful.
