if its your own business that is different because its your business you dont have workers or sub contractors who you pay to do the work for you, you do the work of your own hands

I think in the Bible it was you do the work of your own hands you dont work for anybody else, who sits on their butt while paying you a pittance to do their hard work for them, which is how most business are run, keeping the profits to themselves

I dont really know of many businesses where its owned by the workers or they have a share in the profits...shares seem like they are only offered to rich people who might not even work for the company.

I found this organisation called 'room to read'
they dont call themselves a charity and its run like a business, except all the 'profits' go to the poor, not the rich

they also have this challenge model in that a community will put up half and the room to read will match the other half

I think that works for the most part
however, its reliant on the team of hires not absconding with the money.. and being totally transparent.I think any business handling massive amounts of money can be prone to embezzlers and corruption and lining their own pockets. Plus massive overhead costs. You have to watch those accounts ppl, dont leave them, alone to fiddle the books. The thing is if they are not accountable its easy to sneak and hide money. They just squirrel a few away each time.

so..no land rovers right?

But you can only afford to do so if you made a lot of money for mammon already so much that you dont even know what to do with it, like after youve fed and clothed yourself what does anyone really do with billions of dollars?

You need to give it to those who havent even got food and clothes. Its not right to keep it all to yourself. Your concious will hurt you. well to any potential philanthropists out there....the camel is not going to go through the eye of the needle wthout a bit of divestment

the guy that started it up made millions in microsoft, and left to start the charity although he doesnt call it a charity
though its more of a business
however he seems to get buy in or donations from the extremely rich who have more money than they know what to do with

which is a nice problem to have I suppose. Some people are just good at generating money, and that means poor kids dont have to fish books out of rich peoples dumpsters.
