Your illustration is about seeing from two different geographical locations. I'm talking about what I see from the SAME location evening and morning.
See the second illustration. the sky isn't flat. unless you were directly under the path of the moon you will necessarily observe some rotation proportional to your latitude.

reality is not as extreme as the pictures you put.

Brother, Romans34, I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean by this. Would you please specify with a little detail what mean here?
We are told that we only see the one side of the moon because it rotates in sync with the earth such that we always only see that "face". Both Earth and Moon, both with some tilt, basically rotate on a vertical axis, so that both are spinning horizonally, basically. Now, if you view the moon in the morning and again in the evening, one is rotated approximately 90 degrees from the other, but on an axis that would be pointing toward the earth, which would be rotating vertically; hence now it is rotating BOTH directions at the same time. How does it rotate on two seperate axis two different directions at the same time, AND WE STILL ONLY SEE THE SINGLE "FACE" OF THE MOON?
For us to reason together, we have to understand each other.

This video explains the current understanding through 500 years of observation and calculations. Have you viewed this video below yet?

(It may answer your question. If not, it will assist in communication.)

See the second illustration.
I did, and it illustrates the axis pointing toward the earth, thus rotating perpendicular to the earth, not parallel. It looks just like a clock face turning and the axis should be across the eleven-and-five or one-and-seven. It cannot rotate two different directions at the same time and only see the same side.

I appreciate your effort, but I understand moon phases. My question doesn't have anything to do with the phases of the moon; just the rotation.

What is this diagram illustrating? Are those pictures views from one location at different times (and degrees) or from different locations on earth?
they are pictures from a single date and a single location arranged in a way that represents the passage of time between them. the observer was not located on the ecliptic equator.

it's consistent with a moon that orbits a spheroidal earth. the sky (a constant distance from the surface) is curved on a sphere - the moon has the same orientation ((minus slight precession)) from the POV of the center of its orbit, the center of the earth, not from the POV of an observer on the surface of earth.

so the angle changes a little according to your latitude and the radius of the earth.
nothing crazy like 90°

the universe does not revolve around you.
that's the geometric mistake you made.

Psalms 8:3-4
When I consider Your heavens,
the work of Your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
what is man that You are mindful of him,
and the son of man that You visit him?

The scripture clearly tells us that rightly understanding the universe makes it obvious we are not the center of it. we are insignificant before it.
David can't write Psalm 8 if the earth is a snowglobe with the entire universe revolving around him. flat earth puffs up man's pride but the real universe utterly humbles him.

The moon is revolving about the center of the earth, 4,000 miles or so beneath your feet, in a line thousands of miles south of you, probably, depending on your latitude.

If we define X as 'towards the moon' then you will observe some rotation in the YZ plane because you are not the center of rotation.

There is not a whole lot of observed rotation. it is all due to not observing from the center of orbit. READ: the universe doesn't revolve around us. psalm 8.
presuming it does leads to error.

see previous post #906, please, too

imagine you are in the center of a wagon wheel looking out toward the rim, and let's fix a coordinate system so X is directly front/rear of you, Y is left/right and Z is up.

The moon is at the junction of one of the spokes and rim.

clearly the wheel rotates in the XY plane, with no other apparent rotation from the point of view of an observer in the center.

but now imagine you observe from higher up in Z so that the rim of the wheel is 30-50° below you instead of parallel to your line of sight.
now what do you see? you don't see the wheel as a circle anymore, but an elipse, and if you track a spoke from left to right, it appears to rotate in YZ around a point below you.

interestingly, if the earth were flat, the moon would always appear to rotate in this way around the north pole.
But it doesn't.
this apparent rotation always appears to be around the direction of the equator.

this is totally inconsistent with the moon revolving around a point in the sky above the north pole, but completely consistent with the moon revolving the center of a spheroidal earth along a plane roughly parallel to the earth's equator.

therefore the observation of the moon in yet another way proves flat earth is a lie.

thanks @Romans34 —i had not thought of this one previously.

Thank you for your attempt to explain this in posts 906-909, but I guess I'll have to see it demonstrated before me in 3D. I'm certain that all of God's children are able to see the truth when that are being escorted into heaven upon death. But for the record, learning the truth about flat earth has been one of the most humbling experiences of my entire life. It is 'universe' idea that lifts up men in pride. But I'm not talking about the common man. I can understand and agree how the common man would stand in awe of what God is capable of.

i was afraid of this, that your capacity to visualize things was on par with other flat earthers.

please allow me a day or two to make some diagrams.

unfortunately in person with a chalkboard we could be over and done with this, but now i have to sort out to make some kind of picture transferrable over the interweb....

btw @Romans34 -- i've been glossing over the difference between the ecliptic and the equator all this time hoping it wouldn't come up, just because it is adding complexity, and if you can't understand the rotation of the moon in the simplest terms, will you be utterly lost when we add the actual ecliptic?
but if i am going to make pics, they should be accurate.
the moon's path is 23* or so offset from the equator -- another reason that, of course not, it doesn't appear to have no YZ plane rotation. it necessarily does, and what is observed is consistent with "ball earth" but what is observed contradicts "flat earth"

pics to follow. best hope tomorrow.
probably not tho. depends on work.

It appears to me that you are the one leaving God out of the picture, assuming such an event would kill everyone. Perhaps your god is too small. ;)
I didn't assume anything. That's what I was taught in high school.

And that's the point and the whole problem. Notice the two examples below:

View attachment 258700 View attachment 258701

Because the axis is bascially parallel, it rotates as seen with the first image (in the direction of the yellow ellipse). On the other hand, each morning we see it rotated as seen in the second image (in the direction of the red circle). So how does it rotate BOTH directions at the same time AND we ONLY see the 'ONE FACE' that we see always?
What is the specific source of those two pictures?

1. Did you take those yourself? 1a. If so, what is your location?

2. If not, please provide a link to where you got those pic from. Cause I am not aware of any location on earth where you'll get that type of spin to the right of the moon.

Honestly, I don't remember where I got it off the net 12 to 15 years ago (the one is a 90% rotation of the other -- for illustration purposes only); though I have seen the view represented by both in the North and South USA.

WHAT?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have GOT to be kidding me! Why did you even make that post then? You don't know and can't confirm WHERE and WHEN those photos are from. You can't even confirm they are authentic cause you have no source. That makes it completely pointless.

Assuming these are real un-spun pictures from earth, there already is an explanation why one would see this apparent spin to the right... we've already posted it in here more than once. And it's a proof of the earth being spherical.

This diagram is an ILLUSTRATION of the concept. The video below explains why we see it specifying the two locations. Please review and let us know if you understand the information communicated.

So - if you cannot tell me exactly WHERE and WHEN the photos in that illustration were taken... :p  :censored:

It is not pointless. I used the illustration to help you to understand what I see almost every day morning and evening when there's enough of the moon to see.

You're saying those two pics is pretty much exactly what you see when you look at the moon each morning and evening. When you wrote "we see" I didn't get you were specifically indicating it's what you see from one location. What city/state/country you live in? OK. Well, Posthuman said he'd look into it.

I guess I'll have to see if I can take some pics myself when I can.
