i agree with you dc. you ole marine from the 80s! i think many are misunderstanding the OP and other statements like this. i dont think this is about mankind making an army and annihilating the full forces of evil on our own without the Lords help. only our Lord can do that. but right now it is mankind that is making the world a terrible place and as servants to the Lord i think it is wrong to turn a blind eye to it. we can have faith and we can pray, which is important but there is a reason we have free will and it is up to us to make the most of that free will.
Why would we need an "Army of God" if the rapture is gonna happen?

What some people can not understand is that if it were not for men who were willing to take the life of evil and wicked men, none of us would be having this discussions on CC.
We would be living under people like Nero, Hitler, Stalin, or ISIS.

I prefer the freedom I have to worship my Lord that was bought and paid for by the blood of many brave men who were willing to kill evil men. It is not that they enjoyed nor wanted to, but they were willing.

is the rapture happening right now at the moment? so until then how r u gonna live your life? if you went outside and a small child was being raped by a Pedophile, would your only response be to walk up, tell that innocent child "its ok cause the rapture will happen someday" then walk away while she continues to be abused?

but ISIL in all likelihood would like to invade Israel. if you want to go involve yourself in Armageddon, to mix your blood with the rest of those whose juices are going to fill that valley, that's something else. but i feel like we ought to be honest about it -- if anyone wants to go defend the Iraqis, Lebanese, Israelis or the Syrians, good -- but don't go doing it pretending you're protecting America, or that you're doing it because Christ taught you to meddle with a fight that's not your own.

i have nothing against Muslims, not one has ever threatened me nor anyone i know. i do have something against those that declare war knowing that they themselves will never have to put their lives on the line . in Iraq 1 million Iraqis have been killed and of those 700 thousand civilians and of those 500 thousand children. the ones deciding to bomb targets full of women and children are the ones i have a problem with. these people will never lose a nights sleep over their actions, the deaths of innocent children mean nothing to them. its hard to believe they are even human.
This is just fear mongering, something Baptists specialize and live in constantly, because their love for the world is waxing cold and always have.

Yes I have a child and she was raised to stand on the promises of God's Word and not be moved or shaken by things of this world. We taught her how to discern things spiritually and naturally. She was taught in practical areas of self defense, situational awareness and to be ever vigilant of others around her.
