Still trying to figure out the thread title, in what appears to be some kind of an attack against Republicans.

What the heck does it matter if Ellen White is a Republican?
It matters A LOT what the citizen's politics were. She is related in social life to several War of 1812 veterans, including both Bates and Miller. If you ever get the time to study the outcomes of the War of 1812 in International Treaty relations and seek reasons for the diplomacy following it, you will see that France at the time was a legal republic, and that Napoleon was a usurper after the fact who styled himself to be the emperor of France without legitimate blood descent or royal title in the nation.

Veganism isn't a bad thing, studies show vegetarians and vegans live longer on average.

Seventh Day Adventist Church has some really good teachings, ministries, and testimonies.

From my experience, many in the medical field, professionals, good influence in the community, and practice a healthy life style.

I'm surprised there isn't many threads, if any, that acknowledge this. Mostly negative view points on the church, which is disappointing.

If this thread was designed to further slander the SDA ministry, it seems your in the majority, but I tend to greatly disagree with this mind set.

I don't have anything against vegetables or vegetarian food. I know a lot of people consider food lifestyle choices really political, but I'd tend not to.

Running around carrying signs protesting McDonald's is political, I guess you could argue that a co-op food store is too, but I'm not really on a page that says, "monetary trade is something to do with politics".

No, that wasn't what I meant. I don't think businesses are political, including bookstores like the A.B.C. or a company of any kind, in and of itself.

I was referring to the educational progressivism inherent in the way she wrote the European Crusader History. (The Great Controversy).

Making a big deal that so and so was a republican is akin to making an issue out of Jesus being a carpenter...

A minor triviality compared to the important stuff like what did Jesus say and do..

Not Union? Don't worry about it, I've met civil war scholars before who wouldn't even go into the idea of union in context, just because the war is over, and the constitution, which both contained the causes and expresses the effects is legally and literally Federalist anyway.
That's the one about how the United Kingdom is a "union" too, and it backwater backwashes into the Irish Revolution during the First World War.
I'm still interested in the fact that Jesus was a carpenter, though.
