[h=3] In America Rochester's university has been made scientific studies and analysis led by Professor Miron Zuckerman, which claims that religious people are less intelligent than non-believers. Journal of Personality and Social Psychology Review published a summary for this scientific study. When I researched this study, so on my mind arose many thoughts that prove this scientific study as the provocation of atheism in which they show their contempt to the certain group of the people. On my writing, I also bring out some thoughts about the article of Knoxnews. [/h]

I don't know if I would say believers are less intelligent. I do know that as a whole the higher up the chain of education you go, the less likely those are to be believers. Percentages of believers drop off as you head in Masters and then Ph.D holders.

There are very specific reasons why that is with the most important being the sweeping atheistic denuding of religious people from the domain of science in the 20th century with government complicity (under state atheism this was severe and included government secret police pogroms and political purges of religious people from the domains of government, science, education, etc... which continues today in Marxist nations).

These studies rarely even acknowledge this reality instead lending themselves to an atheist propaganda that ends up being a fallacious assertion such as "the more educated one is the less likely one is to believe religious superstition."

One only has to look at the rebound of religious people in the domains of government, science, and education since the collapse of the Soviet Union in conjunction with the high degree of intellectuality Christians and Jews specifically are demonstrating to see how ridiculous this atheist propaganda tactic is.

For me, anyone that ends up burning in hell can't be all that intelligent.

They say religious people aren't smart....it just simply means they haven't met me yet. Then they'll be scratching their heads for sure. :p

Reminds me of an article I read about a year ago.......It claimed that "Atheists and Agnostics know more about religion than religious people"......I think they asked questions or something of people of all groups and atheists/agnostics scored way higher in knowledge of the bible....etc..

It was a research group made up of atheists, for atheists, and by atheists. lol. That particular group is so engraged that they can't get a higher percentage of the population to reject creationism, they do biased political studies like this all the time.

At the end of the day, even if atheists are more intelligent than believers, that doesn't mean they are correct in thinking that God does not exist. The Bible and the Gospel isn't just for the intelligentsia, it's also for fools and the lowest in society. Anyone from any group can choose to accept it or reject it.

Those studies, who even knows how accurate they happen to be. I think they might say anything as long as it insults GOD.

It's like I tell my history-buff, know-it-all, brother-in-law (I say that with much endearment :p) "An intellectual can still be a fool, a wise person is not."

I would also like to put that Christians are actually smarter and atheist because 1, we will admit when we are wrong and 2, we admit that we don't know anything.

It's brain smart vs street smart. Or 'spirit' smart.

When some people try to make the argument that religious people are less intelligent than atheists. I would ask the question what do you mean intelligence? Not everyone is intelligent like in poetry, music, etc, all people are gifted whether one believes they are or not or have not even discovered what it is yet. This is a cop out. The problem is not intelligence because many people can be intelligent in the mind but their lives could be chaos while a person who is not have a Ph.D. and other things even though they might have average intelligence might have more common sense and less of a chaotic life. Besides when it comes to studies some are good and some are bad. You have to examine things like samples and other stuff, then decide will you take by faith that the study is true or will you look for a second opinion or viewpoint. Those are my two cents. God bless.

There is knowledge, and there is wisdom...atheists severely lacking in the latter.

You can be all of three: Spirit smart, street smart, and science based. You can't look at one branch of knowledge and be able to expect that everyone will be able to comprehend one completely or be completely independent on their own. First seek the kingdom of God, and knowledge will be expanded upon you. Reinforce this knowledge with God's word.

Many different kinds of intelligence. You have to wonder about the methods used to calculate these results.Science has a long history in support of evolution.Considering ,this it would lead me to wonder if the study was meant to go in favor of those who don't believe in GOD from the beginning of such a study.

I once saw a bumper sticker that said "Am I a Liberal or am I just too well educated?" And that kinda points at the issue. Atheists I have known have been very well educated people. But I find the people who rely solely on education miss the big picture their education is intended to paint... to the point of the picture being entirely blocked out. For example, educated people believe that if someone is down and destitute, if you give them a hand it will be a 'hand up' that encourages them to do better. But an article in todays LA Times documents how a great majority of those given a 'hand up' instead become trained to look for the 'hand-out' instead. The educated theory does not match the reality of the 'uneducated' world.

Same with the atheists. Their brains have been so packed with 'intelligence' that their spirits can't get a word in edgewise. Therefore they miss the balance that brings truth.

That's evident even here. There are some here on this forum with incredible book smarts and intelligence, but their spiritual understanding and experience is a big goose egg. Ergo they can produce pages of scripture that say, in their minds, that God is sedentary now that everything He set out to do was accomplished in 70 AD. And they turn a blind eye and deaf ear to the thousands of people who are living proof that He's not.

Are atheists more intelligent than the religious? Quite possibly. Are atheists in their intelligence smarter because of it? Obviously not.

Then, what do we say of a extremely intelligible person who has a very high intellect, one who does believe in GOD.Yes many scholars do spend more time on studies and academics, and that in itself is a major factor.

That is not the point,I get what you are saying,I am only stating I happen to know personally some highly intelligent people who are very close to GOD.Plus my error you don't have to be any scholar to have a high intellect.

Yes you are right and I didn't mean to imply that being intelligent would make you athiest. I'm just noting that in the truly athiest crowd, or at least the one's I've met, the percentages were pretty high.
