Forget what you have been taught and ask yourself the question:
"What do I actually see?"
This is a good general question to ask yourself in any situation where you want to know the real truth. However, I put it forth in the above quoted post with specific regard to watching a sunset.
Don't skirt the issue.
I have no reasonable hope of being able - any time soon - or possibly ever - to go up to a high altitude and look out at the horizon. All I have is available video to watch and discern what I may from that.
Anyone in most situations will be far more able to watch a sunset.
Are you willing to watch a sunset?
A fisheye lens can "pervert" a picture from a camera or a video recording; however, what you see with your "naked eyes" - not looking through anything that may alter the image you are looking at (an airplane window, for example) - is most often much more believable.
While I can have respect for whatever you feel you have obtained from your own experience, it does me no real good (where proof is concerned) if I cannot experience it myself personally.
Therefore, I must refrain from wasting time with things that I cannot put to the test - you know -
real science - repeatable, observable, demonstrable, etc.
I do not know for sure whether or not your eyes were "deceived" (i.e. - by an airplane window, perhaps) when you experienced what you did.
I am not at all inclined to call you a liar - or any such similar thing - because, I trust and assume that you believe what you [at least think you] saw.
As I have said before, I believe everyone has the
right to believe what they will. Of course, they also have the
responsibility that goes with it.
Contrary to that which most people have been taught, you have the
right to yell "fire" in a theatre; however, you are also
responsible for your actions -
and the outcome and influence of whatever they cause - in doing so.
In the midst of the illustration of this example is the benefit of knowledge concerning the difference between a 'right' and a 'privilege'.
But I digress...
You’ll probably not gonna like this, but what I see is curvature.
I’ve been to altitudes where I clearly could see that the earth is round.
Now how about that? Will you now admit that the earth is round?
Probably not😜🤦♀️.
I do not like or dislike it. It is your testimony.
Will I admit . . . simply because "you said so"...?
Don't count on it!
