i think most everyone agrees its wrong, the question was is it murder. some dont believe its right to re define life to fit political agendas.
Thank you for the reply jaybird88, You can help me explain this, We as Christians believe Gods word to be true and just, Do a study of ten commandments, There are 4 different kinds of killing, 5 if you put suicide and mercy killings in its own category. I personally don't. but i can see where someone could make a great case for it. Out of those 4 killings only 1 of them is a sin. And which one is it, this is where a child of God should study to show him self-worth. Exodus 20:13, This is a bad translation. in the original text it actually says to do no murder. So it seems common sense that if abortion is taking a life and it is in self is wrong, then it falls into the category of murder. ( to think, plan and execute the taking of a life. Since it is a choice, People have to think about it, then plan were to go and how to pay for it, then go get it done.
My lack of understanding is why this should even be questioned and debated among Christians.

Yes..i believe abortion is murder..its a human taking another humans life thats not consentual...in full disclosure..i had one when i was 25..repented of my sin..and am forgiven..however..theres always the arguement bout if a woman is raped and concieves etc..well..God has a plan for that babies life as well..even concieved in a horrible way...God can make beauty from ashes..He changes lives every day that way..if God didnt have a purpose for that baby..he would/could have prevented it..but knowing that God knows every hair on our heads and knew us before birth..how awesome is that..theres so many adoption options these days as well (my brother and i were adopted) ..

but of course its common sense to think its taking a life. we live in a material world and most dont look past the physical, but to spiritual people, we believe in a spiritual world. a soul is a part of that world, unless you believe a soul is a physical object. Adam did not receive a soul until he breathed.

An estimated 88,0008 people (approximately 62,000 men and 26,000 women8) die from alcohol-related causes annually, making alcohol the third leading preventable cause of death in the United States. ... In 2014, alcohol-impaired driving fatalities accounted for 9,967 deaths (31 percent of overall driving fatalities).

So when are the pro life folk going to stand in front of a bar or state store or beer distributor hollering murders where are all the right wing so called pro life politicians how come they are not trying to reverse alcohol laws back to Prohibition days OH thats right they would not get many votes. because they ain't really pro life more like just anti abortion politicians trying to get your vote.

Alcohol-related deaths, ( Although a tragedy ) it is not considered murder. Remember there are 4 different categories of killing, not all are sinful, Can't get around murder being as sin.

When abortion is illegal, the government will do things that you did not want them to do.

It's the consequences of making abortion illegal that people don't think about.

---

Some say that a women should get no jail time, but some places they might say that it is murder (you have stated that you agree) and make it life in prison w/o parole. "Then you might say, I didn't want that to happen," but it will not be in your personal control.

Can a women prove that her miscarriage was not caused by her own actions? So that any woman who has a miscarriage has to prove that it wasn't her fault. Because the man accused her of it.

If a woman dies from an induced miscarriage, then Christians will say, "She deserved to die."

When abortion is illegal, it will ONLY be for poor women and not the rich. The rich can afford to leave the country and have a safe abortion in another country.

Start building the prisons for all the women who have an abortion or induce a miscarriage.

If a woman tells a friend that she is thinking of having an abortion, the friend tells the police and the woman is taken to jail until she gives birth.

What about a woman that has several abortions? Then she would have life in prison?

But don't worry, the government will have Christian panel of RCC priests and holy republicans review the cases.

-------

Have you considered the consequences of your actions and words?

Jewel,

The big question is, do we want to give the government this kind of power over women?

And maybe you would say yes. Did you think that in the future, there might be people in office who start to abuse this power to the extreme? Then they would point out that it is murder (you agree), and the 25 year prison term is appropriate.

Maybe only women should vote on this. Men might change their mind after being beaten and raped and then 9 months of being pregnant with a rapists child. But high minded and arrogant men want to pass laws that control people in ways that they are not supposed to.

And remember that the law would only apply to poor women who cannot afford to leave the country. Poor women will have to apply more primitive and dangerous ways to miscarriage. Shouldn't they have a right to a safer medical option?

You see, I don't believe in abortion. But I can't make that decision for others who need help.

Where there is law, there must also be mercy. Where is the mercy in these extremists views? Most of them have not thought about what happens after it is made illegal.

What should be the punishment for having an abortion or induced miscarriage? Or several abortions?

This applies to poor women only.
