I guess I would have to see the books for myself to form an opinion because I know some people blow things out of proportion like an LGBT couple hold hands for 2 seconds and they think it's pornography

The good news is that the Power is shifting back to the People, the mama bears in particular, to dictate to the school boards what’s appropriate and not appropriate to be taught in the schools…
The consequences being that the board members are being held accountable at the school board elections…

The lesson for me is don't send your elementary kid to a school run by unbelievers. If the mama bears are serious they pull their kids. If 50% of the kids leave and 50% of the teachers (the Christian ones) leave and they establish home schools run out of their local churches it will cripple public school and they will take you seriously.

Yes that’s certainly a solid approach and suspect there are at least a few viable courses of action to ensure that no kids inadvertently get left behind…
I’ve seen it happen in Tucson Az, where parents who were fed up with the poor quality of public education and they collectively took a very similar approach that you described only the alternative were’Magnet’ alternative education… basically a higher quality education but not as pricey as private education…
Yes, it had a detrimental impact upon public schools at the expense of the poor kids that were left behind in that system…
In your scenario the kids of non-believer parents suffer, where that still have a chance to be saved as they mature and see the error of their parents non believers ways..
I’m of the mind that every problem has a solution and that more times than not, simply giving the Power Back to the People can serve to solve so many of our societies problems….
Of course, similar to our election issues, the People just need to be Awakened to the problems and step up to resolve them at the grassroots levels…

LOL, that's how we make decisions in the Military - we present all our Decision Makers with Multiple Courses of Action - usually at least THREE... and then we conduct comprehensive estimates of supportability and recommendations based upon ALL the Advantages and Dis-Advantages to ensure that the MOST INFORMED Decisions are arrived at...

Interestingly, there are often a "Throw-Away" Option (too risky, too costly, or too much risk)... and all too often the Decision Maker(s) will opt for a HYBRID Solution to get the best of all options and MINIMIZE RISKS...

Why wouldn't they be inclined? Is it because they don't want their kid taught the Bible? Is it because they think the public school is better?

If you are Muslim or Jewish you can have your own homeschool out of your place of worship. So these unbelievers have taken a stand not to go anywhere and worship?

So here is what you will see. When I taught public school the worst thing was to "get kids across the transom". That means the kids who didn't apply to any public school and were appointed to your school on day 1. Their parents were completely unengaged. As a result you had all kinds of issues without any support from their parents. Homeschools would have 0 and the public schools would increase the % of these, even doubling or tripling. It only takes one kid to shut down a class for five minutes. If you have three kids you can easily shut down the class for 30 minutes. Once that happens forget it, the school and the classes will become a jungle. No decent teacher will put up with this. If the school descends into total disarray all your best teachers will leave. The difference between a good teacher and an average or new teacher is huge. A really good teacher can deal with three of these kids in the class, a new or average teacher cannot.

Now every teacher knows what happens in one class will impact the mood and climate in the school, if that triples, forget it the school becomes a zoo. You have no one showing up period one, they saunter in halfway into period two, then by period three the whole school has been lost because they are all talking about what took place in three or four classes in those first two periods.

My point is if you do what I said all the decent and good teachers will also leave, they'll go to these homeschools. As a result the school will become such a complete zoo and joke in one or two years it will be really stunning why any parent would send their kid there. In the end the only parents who do send their kids will be those who are so completely out of it they have no idea what is happening at their kids school and don't care.

There is also the financial side. Teachers unions and contracts are very tight. Schools can stop hiring and they can fire the newest teachers, but anyone who is there for five years or more they can't fire. Imagine you have 100 teachers. Perhaps you can fire 25 teachers but you are still left paying 75 teachers even if 50% of your kids have left! Your best teachers are the ones who are close to retirement so they also leave, take early retirement and go to these homeschools. You will be stuck with teachers who don't care and are just there to collect a paycheck. Doesn't sound terrible until you realize it may be that none of them are math or science teachers. What you find in school is that some people are there because they can't get another job, their college degree is close to useless. So yes, you lose 50% of your kids and you lose 50% of your teachers it seems you can still make it, the problem is you will lose 100% of the teachers who can get a job elsewhere.

Now consider something else, if more than 50% of your parents do not use the public schools (you have homeschool and private school making up more than 50%) and of course 100% of those who don't have kids will also not be using public school. Why would they support being taxed for public school? The voucher system will destroy public school which is why the unions have fought it tooth and nail.

This is how you deal with sin. Burn it to the ground, then when you rebuild you make sure there are certain key rules in place. For example, yes we will support public school as long as you have prayer, you have the Bible, and you have some really good readers for elementary school that are based on bible stories. Until then, no thanks.
