I can tell you, as a military professional that the MSM version of the story NEVER made any sense… I’ve been wargaming scenarios with Russia with our military intelligence for years… Russia is a formidable adversary for us… they could crush and own Ukraine if that were Putin intent…

I guess I just didn't want to believe that Putin is a nicer person than me. I couldn't ever tell my generals "Well, I know we lost some troops setting up around Kyiv, but I need you to tell the guys the siege is being called off; because, "optics".

Yeah; it would be great if it wasn't so frustrating. He recites 1000 years of Russian history while our leaders barely ever reflect on our comparatively short history. I thought Tucker was pretty assertive, while remaining a level of professional respect. He asked some pointed questions and I think it's a bit presumptuous for a media personality to ask for the release of a "spy".... but I guess maybe it was worth a try. Putin handled it all more gracefully than he had to- even his jab at Tucker's past CIA ambitions were laced with bittersweet wisdom.
I don't necessarily agree with everything he said; but his convictions seem to go a lot deeper than US leaders' conviction of "Russia BAD, Ukraine GOOD! Why you no not LOVE Ukraine!?!? UKRAINE GOOD! Putin EVIL!"

I'm a little confused as to why they would do this- they know that a funding bill is being considered right now... an advance by the Russian army is only going to generate sympathy for Ukraine and get that funding passed... what are they thinking? Are they trying to break Z-man's resolve?

If they really are advancing, I hope it's far enough to put pressure on Z-man, but not far enough to scare the house into passing another stupid funding bill.

Stupid funding bill?

You would not be calling it stupid if you were on the receiving end of that largesse. We are talking about billions and billions of dollars. Corrupt, evil, despicable, I can see using those adjectives, but stupid? No, these are not stupid people, they are selfish, self serving, and willing to exchange the blood of your children for a new swimming pool and a vacation home in Colorado.
