Yes... surrender the most powerful institution, government, to our enemy-in-chief, satan. Makes sense to me.
A supposed Christian whose faith is in the institutions of this world. Yeah, makes a lot of sense.

That wouldn't make sense. But then again, that isn't what I said or even implied.

This is the problem with many in the Body. They equate sensible concern for our society with an idolatry of that society. How their minds work to come to this distorted conclusion is beyond me, but it's obviously indicative of some sort of preconceived notions they have about the relevance of politics in the Christian's life.

If you think that surrendering territory to the enemy of our souls is idolatry, I'll let you justify that before God on Judgment Day. If you think it's right to leave a broken society for your kids, I'll let you justify that before God on Judgment Day. If you think you that are NOT a steward of the good things God has given you, like religious freedom, I'll let you justify that before God on Judgment Day.

Of course you didn't.
This guy's too holy for me folks. He sees right through my darkened soul! I guess it's 'resident' I'll be facing on the Judgment throne.

I also notice that you didn't respond to the rest of what I typed. Why? Because you can't. Why? Because you know I'm right, oh holiest of holies. You'd rather stick to your wicked accusation rather than admit that maybe, just maybe, you were wrong.

But it's heading that way. China is coming on strong. I recall the leader of the Japanese attack back in '41 was fearful that he'd "awakened a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve". No such worries for China. The giant isn't "sleeping".

He's DEAD.
This is true and good points for another topic maybe, but so far, America is not dead yet, praise Jesus or die horrifically is basically the choice. So we will continue to hope for America's repentance and godless communist China to be defeated and continue to praise Jesus.

Actually Ephesians 4:11-16 is what the hope is. America, and it's political fiasco, doesn't play any part in that, and if the country goes under tomorrow, it CHANGES NOTHING - except that things will get less convenient. I wouldn't want to be my kids, and certainly not to be my grandkids.

I'd be the last person to tell anyone not to pray for someone they want to pray for. However, I think people are sadly mistaken if they're hoping Trump can reverse the course of events. He might be able to slow them slightly and temporarily, but it's way too late to stop or reverse the progressive agenda. It would really be to everyone's advantage to acknowledge reality instead of entertaining pipe dreams that Donald J. Trump can be anything other than a stopgap. It might make people feel better if Trump gets elected; they may feel vindicated for what they feel was a stolen election. But this is a sorry substitute for what really matters: bringing the gospel of Christ to a desperate world while there's still time.
I wonder if people said the same thing about Cyrus. They definitely said the same thing of Jesus.
It doesn't matter who God uses. It only matters that God moves.
I have no doubt that some, if not many, trust in Trump. But every Christian who loves justice should be crying out before the Lord for it. And it's only over when God says so.

I agree, ultimately, the focus should be the gospel. For what would it profit to win every election only to lose your own soul?

No Christians worship Trump. There do seem to be a lot of fan boys. And the reasons are obvious. Trump in his 4 years made life better in America for most Americans. He did this across the board. And for the first time in a long time, there was some real push back against the economic and cultural rot that had set in and has since returned. These people are easy for me to understand.
The people I don't understand are those who know that it is God who raises and lowers those in high positions who resist God in the choices He makes. Read in Isaiah about the response of the Jews to God's choice of Cyrus to deliver them from Babylon. To me, it's very similar to many Christians response to Trump.
