Every Scripture and doctrine being taught from the pulpit
will always be subject to debate, argument, interpretation,
opinion and not flat out avoided but continues on without rest.

Well, maybe The Song of Soloman (aka, The Song of Songs) might
be too explicit for some and there will be a tendency to shy away
from this. One woman in our church ( 74 and still unmarried ) calls
it "outright pornographic" and should have never been allowed
in the Word! :alien:

When it comes to authority, if you were to take a survey among
Christian's, you would find they believe (often without pause
for cause) that all authority is to be obeyed without delay or
to question it. "After all" they tell me, "God can use any authority
figure he wants to suit His will".

Other comments are: "God appoints these authorities and removes
them at will, and we are not to interfere with that."

I have two questions: Does this mean God winks at cheating, i.e. the
2020 elections? If that's the case, then God is a liar and a cheat. Why
should we live Godly, clean and pure lives? I already know the answer.

Next, if God appointed King George II, then were the Founding Fathers
with Commander George Washington, later President Washington, most
of whom were Believers guilty of violating God's Word because they chose
to disobey the King of England (an authority figure appointed by God
according to Scripture) and form the United States to the point of all-out
armed rebellion?

I thought rebellion is as the sin witchcraft. (1st Samuel 15: 23 - 25).

Would we have been better off as a British colony if we had laid down our arms
and submitted to the King of England? After all, the Founding Fathers and all
the colonists were still legally British subjects.

So, are we to continue tolerating the abuse and corruption of the Biden administration?
have we as an American Republic (not a democracy) got so comfortable with living a
life in here in America that we can't find it in our hearts to rebel, maybe once in a while?

To wit, the Seattle Police Department has officer's driving around with the famous yellow
"Don't Tread On Me" flags attached to their patrol cars in open rebellion against the
Governor of Washington (state) over the vaccine mandate? I support it and I don't see any
violation of Scripture here.

A Washington State Trooper signs of with his final radio call, protesting Gov. Jay Inslee's
mandate, and broadcasting over the police radio frequency band, telling Inslee to "kiss him"
someplace where the sun doesn't shine ( exercising discretion here ). He did so over the
police airwaves for everybody and their dog with a scanner, to hear. Not to mention fellow
troopers who cheered him on.

We're human, including Christians. We can pushed to a breaking point.

The signatory of the Declaration of Independence knew that they had Divine Providence: the "mandate from heaven" principle.

The bible doesn't explain much about civil authority; as Christians, the bible says we are to be submissive, and disobedient only when it is required to obey the Lord. You can see examples in the bible where God directly interacts with kings and sets nations against nations, so I don't think its that unreasonable to believe that the Lord moved the congress to do what they did- I have no doubt that George Washington was anointed by God for this purpose.
I definitely agree that the biblical command to obey is limited. But if anyone is going to disobey, they need to be sure that they are doing it for the Lord, and not for themselves.

We have many examples -- Daniel and his three friends are an example of non compliance with laws that violate God's law. Mordecai and Esther are an example of not being subject to an evil and wicked ruler. God blessed Rahab even though she was not subject to her rulers. Moses going to Pharaoh is another example of not being subject though his appeal was done lawfully. Elijah on the mountain and having the prophets of Baal put to death was another example of standing up to an unrighteous and wicked ruler.

But of course the best example is Jesus.

God does infact appoint leaders to punish nation. Take Saul, Caesar and Pharaoh for examples. We must decide whom we will serve and as Peter said to the Sanhedrin
The Name Forbidden
…17 But to keep this message from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them not to speak to anyone in this name.” 18 Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John replied, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to listen to you rather than God.…
