I watched Cronkite personally. He had a reputation for absolute integrity of unbiased reporting. He guarded that reputation. Only those close to him knew his political leanings as very liberal. He used that reputation on the show "You were there". The same with those on the other 2 networks. Huntley Brinkley report and I forget the person on the third network.

Try again. I watched him in news and his show. He was always fact based without coloring it like they do today. He reminds me of Sgt. Friday on Dragnet, "Just the facts sir."
The biasing started slowly in the 60s.
