Now I have heard a lot of people say that they won't date a girl/guy unless they are a Christian. However, honestly I am not gonna decide based on their faith. Because honestly I have met good people from all faiths, and I have met bad people from all faiths, including Christians.

Maybe because I have dated out side my religion I am more open to it. But I have dated a Muslim, Buddhist, Atheist, Catholic, Protestant, and SDA girls.

I date girls because I like them as people. If I was to date a girl simply because of her religion. I might as well just date her because of her looks. I am not looking to get to know her, or I only want her because of her religion.

Yes I know what the Bible says, that don't be un equally yoked. Ok, but you can be equally yoked with a person who believes different from you as long as you have set guide lines about things, like how you raise the kids, religion, all that BEFORE you get married. I don't see a problem with it.

Oh man... I can't choose either of these choices, Chop... I've tried them both!! Or, should I say... the guys I dated said they were Christians but weren't living their faith at all... and the guy I married was a good guy but not a Christian (his mother was a religious fanatic who used to justify beatings by saying her kids needed to be punished for their sins, so as you can imagine, he was afraid of religion, but, in the beginning, willing to go to church with me every Sunday which is why I thought we could make it.) SSSOOO... I guess I'm a bad one to ask, but I can't take you up on either of these choices... from experience.

That doesn't work. Unless you don't take being an obedient Christian and living a holy life seriously then it might.

My answer is neither, I'd just be single.

Some of the worst treatment I've gotten in my life has been at the hands of people claiming to be Christians. I'd much rather date a good non Christian than a Christian like that.

But additionally, they would have to be willing to go to church with me.

I'd take a bad Christian any day. I've tried good non-Christians. They can be as good as they like but if you're going in opposite directions its not going to work. I refuse to be with someone long-term who isn't going to be in heaven. I'd take the bad Christian on a probationary period and re-assess the situation after that.

Bad Christians are atleast saved by the blood and Christ can deal with them.

Yeah, Christ can deal with them. But I won't. Not in a relationship anyway.

For example, I spent a summer on a mission team of sorts. It was me, one other girl, and a guy. At one point, the guy (and another youth minister) made jokes that my dad was gay just because he worked in a library. I got hurt on a canoeing trip (and came down with a cold) and he constantly made fun of me. I used the word "facade" in conversation once and he lectured me for 10 minutes about how I shouldn't use "big words" just to make myself sound smarter than everyone else.

So yeah, I don't care if the guy's a Christian, to me that's a bad person. I would never date someone like that, no matter how much they profess to love Jesus.

well.

point 1 - libraries are cool.

point 2 - anyone who thinks facade is a big word needs to spend more time in libraries.
