Angels are ministers of fire are they not? The problem with us is that we are CONTINUALLY looking for something outside of ourselves! If the kingdom is within us, then where is the Lord of that kingdom?
Dr. Peck brings out that we need to face this in his book, just as you are pointing out. He says that our organized church is especially attractive to demon possessed people because a major characterist of them is that they do not have guilt, want to hide behind self righteousness. The church gives them an opportunity to do that well.
It seems to me that the best defense we have is for each of us to draw close to the Lord. The history of man working to rid demons in the church has been a sorry one, resulting even in murders committed.
I would like every Christian to read this book about it, it is a good one. The problem needs lots of prayer and following how God would lead us.

Nevertheless I do consider it is important to test the spirits and discern whether it is of God or devil. Further more I do know that the disciples were given authorities to cast out the demons and it is important that an average believer need to grow in the Word of God and learn from the Lord before taking authorities over dark powers.
Yet I believe it is not good to ignore this matter as unapprochable or something that's beyond our God given assignments because there is a battle to be won for everyone who belong to the Kingdom of God.Closing eyes to the truth will not stop devil from waging war against us.
We are Children of God , so its important that we know matters of God. Ignorance is not a bliss.

If we believe in the Lord He will empower us and equip us to win over the dark powers, there is nothing to fear when we are empowered by the Lord to do what He requires us to do. Furthermore if we choose not to rebuke what has to be rebuked ,this will only empower the powers of darkness to continue ruling and exhibiting its powers. God has authorised mankind to be rulers on earth and to rule all the creatures , but it seems serpent who was one of the creatures to be ruled by men, became ruler because of the inefficiency of mankind to be rulers.It is upto us to exercise the authorities God gave us and when we fail to use our authorities serpent glorifies himself.

i'm telling ya, people need to stay away with all this demon talk. it opens doors I tell ya. JESUS didn't have no conversation with demons, HE set the example and HE cast them out lickidy-split.
Satan's angels are not demons transformed into men, but men possessed and under the spirit of error.
Our tongues have the power of fire in that it can both bless or curse the people. This is the war we are having.
Has anyone ever seen the movie 'The Skeleton key?' About and old voodoo lady trying to transfer her soul into a younger body. But she couldn't do it until the lady BELIEVED she first had the power to do it!
That's our lives today! Possessed by spirits of error. Take christmas trees. It's only a tree with no real power of its own. But we ascribe power over it not by decorating one every year, but by giving it the power to send someone to hell. It's a damn tree!
And money is the same. We are killing one another to hold on to what no man can keep forever.... And it's enough for us all ... I'm just amazed.

Dude, there are Angels, demons, Mankind. very distinct names given to different beings. they all exist different and have different abilities... and movies are not a creditable source to discussing this. and there is no such thing as soul transfer, my soul, my soul it can not be transferred to yours whether i believe or not
and it is not a matter of ascribing power because Demons exist whether we believe it or not.
and how they affect ones life depends on GIVING PLACE, or WALKING IN SIN.

Look guys Satan is a fallen angel. His name was Lucifer and attended the throne, the highest angel in Heaven. This is where I lose a lot of people. Lucifer convinced 1/3 of the angels to follow his rebellion against God. Secondly, there was stuff going on in the earth at this time and beings of this earth threw in their lot with Satan. God destroyed that world with a flood just like He did in Noah's day. Theses beings became demons. You have Satan, their leader, Fallen angels and demons. Satan always has copy of God. Call Me crazy, but all of this is in the word. If you look deep enough. But thank God we have power over them in the Name of Jesus. Amen
I will also add that their main goal is prove God's word to be a lie. The best way they can do it is to exterminate the people of Israel. Because God gave the promise that David would have a son to sit on the throne of Israel forever. That's why Satan is so intent on their destruction and the demon ruled religion of Islam.
