Have you met anyone or known anyone besides you, who are/were sinless aka perfect?
Yes I have
Please don't give me Biblical names because everyone knows about them. I want to know about people from this era/generation/century. Thank you :)
If people in the Bible could do it, so can we, they were just men like us

If we were perfect we would not need god would we? you know the devil also see's himself as perfect. If we were perfect( which none of us are) we would probably disown God and claim to be equal to him as satan does. Honestly if anyone truly thinks they never sin and never will, if anyone claims to be perfect they are just either very confused or are not a follower of christ at all. Oh yes the devil will trick anyone who claims these things into thinking they are living for god, but really they are not and the devil laughs at them. Sinless i am not fully convinced you truly believe this, only someone who thought very highly of themselves would even think they are sinless. Only someone who looks down upon others because of how highly they exalt themselves as sinless and perfect would believe such a thing. these are traits of the devil not god.
I beg your pardon.

The devil somehow got the twisted idea he was perfect without God.

We understand that it is impossible to be perfect without God as we are created to be linked always to him by spirit.

Blain why did God say HIS PERFECT PEOPLE NEED NOTHING? God agree with you PERFECT PEOPLE WANT NOTHING.. THEY GOT IT ALL!!!! God gave them all, and so much more they LACK, NEED and WANT NOTHING!!!
Scripture says this... Look here is the proof....
James 1:4... But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

And some more Scripture proving this... 2 Tim 3:17... That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

You think a perfect man of God needs more than to be THOROUGHLY FURNISHED BY GOD?
If God furnish His men do you think they NEED ANYTHING MORE? Nope! They NEED NOTHING!!! !
Blain sorry my friend now you speak utter nonsense... How is it possible for a sinner to get clean without the cross? So how can the dirt be removed before the person is KEPT CLEAN.... No my friend the FIRST PART of perfection is PURIFICATION...

So you twist the Word and out doctrine... but if you read what we teach you will know why Paul said you got stuck at the cross and baptism.... After the cross is a HOLY LIFE... PERFECT LIFE... why? because the work of Jesus DID NOT STOP AT THE CROSS.... That is only the first steps... Jesus Rose Blain, and HE IS ALIVE... not crucified ANY LONGER...

He rose and showed that if we crucify the old man, HE WILL RISE IN US.... AND WE IN HIM.... To live PEREFCTLY...That is the whole Gospel of Jesus... NOT that He died for your sins... and died for your sins.... and died for your sins...and died for your sins...

NOPE, he died for your sins...ONCE and God resurrected Him to give you LIFE and a LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS, is LIFE INDEED! It is Life EVERLASTING... IT is a LIFE IN GOD... AND IN HIM IS NO SIN....A Life where there is NO SIN... PERFECT and EVERLASTING..
I never once said the cross does not apply, however if one was to be saved by faith and knowing Jesus died on the cross for them which is spoken of in the bible and sought after the lord with all their heart and truly loved him and began to see and love others as he does the lord will take great delight in him. but if a person seeks to be obedient, know scripture, and seek righteousness but does not know god on a personal level. then they will get a twisted view about what faith is really about. I have said many times what faith is about and for your benefit I will say it again: Faith is not about how well you know scripture, it is not how closely you follow the law( even the pharsee's did this) it is not about how obedient you are and it is not about how righteous you are. Faith is all about love. The father seeks a person of faith, a person who truly loves him with all their heart and soul. He created man because he wanted a relationship he could not have with the angels. Anyone can say they love the lord with everything they have in them, but the fruits of a person is how you know who is true to his heart or not. You seek so badly to never sin and become perfect, you get angry because I refuse to believe you. But cobus, what you and sinless are missing is the love Jesus speaks of. You can declare you have this love but i have read and watched your posts and i sensed no love in it except for the ones who agree with you. Seek the lords heart cobus. just forget about everything right now and focus on getting to know him on a deep and personal level. I say this because this is the best way to know him. but you must be willing to humble yourself before the lord. Don't think in your mind: I am right there is no need for me to do that: even the pharasee's had 100% they were right and look how they turned out

Yep this is true. but we ourselves cannot become perfect by not sinning because this is impossible. but we can become perfect in the lords eyes by faith and love.

Whom the Son sets free is free indeed
What did tribesman say? "We can overcome sin, yes, but that does still not mean we are literally and totally free of sin."

Isn't that like saying we can overcome but we can't overcome? LOL. Very cute. :)

I saw somewhere where someone said we can only be forgiven of sins for now but we must wait until later to be sanctified. They obviously do not understand how we become sanctified.

John 17:19 "And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth."

If we are complete in our obedience to Christ as one of his body parts, then we are sanctified. He died to give us that opportunity, both to forgive us of our past sin and so that we could stumble for a short spell in smaller ways as we go about learning to synchronize with Jesus through the holy spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:11 "And such were some of you: but ye are washed [by the word of truth Jesus spoke of there at John 17:19], but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

That speaks in the present tense. Now some might find that verse confusing, but it is not at all illogical if we turn to Jesus for the answer:

John 4:24 "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

John 14:17 "Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you."

John 6:63 "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."

See my post #207

I do not say we can do it on our own. But I know we can and we must do it. God is not trying to be an enabler or crutch to us so we can continue to sin. He is genuinely healing us of our need for a crutch of grace so that we are able in this life to grow to the point of being able to stand on His righteousness and be an image of Him that truly honors Him as our creator.

Yes, as Cobus said, God will always be our strength. We were designed for him to be our strength and therefore that is not any weakness or imperfection.

You have a way with words. It must be a gift. I sure appreciate clear teaching, and this cannot be any clearer. This reply is not to add anything, just augmenting my already optioned "like." Thank you.

Because he who loses his life finds it

We can die later physically and find what our life will be like
Or we can die to our self now and find what it will be

Now stop being sarcastic :p

Did Jesus think it to be impossible? Did He not tell a woman and a man to "Go and Sin nor More" So then it must be possible.

Jame 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

Apparently the Apostle James knew it was possible as well.

The Apostle Paul must have believed it as well, he taught "to set aside the sin that so easily beset us"

How many verses teach us to be Perfect? How many teach us to walk as Jesus walked? Truthfully the entire Bible teaches us how NOT TO SIN. Yet this generation teaches it is not possible.

What does the Bible call those who can't cease from sin? Does it not call those people cursed children in 2 Peter 2:14? Yes it does.

So lets reflect. men teach it is not possible, yet the Word of God teaches over and over and over again how it is possible.

Click on my website below and scroll down to either one of two articles 1) Sin No More or 2) Keep on Sinning. To see all the references in the Bible that teach it is possible, you should really read those two articles, your soul is at stake here. You can keep on believing it is not possible, or you can read the articles which shows all the verses which teach it is possible. Shouldn't you want to KNOW what the Truth is, then will it hurt you to read the articles?

It is possible, i live it. i do nothing at all to displease my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. i do not knowingly and/or willingly obey satan in anything at all. When i am tempted i immediately read the Bible or go into prayer for Jesus to help me. i stay away from anything that might cause me or tempt me to sin against Him. i have given up my life because He gave up His life for me. i no longer do what i want to do, i do what He wants me to do. i will have plenty of time to do what i want to do when i get to Heaven, but right now, i am His servant, i do as He wants me to do. He leads me not into temptation.

It is Jesus in me, which gives me the Strength and the Power to not sin against Him. i love Him more than the sin. Those who continue to live in sin, love the sin more then Jesus, because if they loved Jesus more then the sin, they would find some way to cease from doing that sin, would they not?

God told me one day, this is what He said word for Word "There is no sin that you do, that you can't cease from" This statement from Him, made me run from God for many years. i was not willing to cease from sinning, i wanted to believe in easy Christianity, where i can continue to live in sins, and still think i am going to Heaven. How is that the narrow and difficult path that leads to Life Everlasting? Its not. The narrow and difficult path is getting sin our of your life, getting rid of that sin that so easily besets you. this is the Struggle, this is why it is extremely hard to walk the narrow path, this is why only a very few will find it. Few as in one in maybe a hundred thousand.

What if Jesus told you to "Go and Sin No More" This generation would not believe Him. If prophets were to live today, and they do, and they teach to Go and Sin No More, see how fast they are mocked and not believed to be a prophet at all, not because they teach things that are contrary to the Word of God, but because they teach things that are contrary to what men teach in the last days, making excuses for their sinning instead of ceasing from them, How will they escape the wrath of God?

Indeed we should.

This is a strange kind of reverse faith so many have fallen prey to. It sanctions them to just say, "Oops, oh well, God understands that I am only a sinful human," instead of teaching to really know and have faith in God's knowledge and wisdom and his ability to teach it to them so that they compelled by his love can use it for salvation. His works because he taught it to them as what he wants them to do.

They have been told over and over again that it is the truth that sets them free, but they seem not to listen.

What is that truth but God's knowledge and wisdom which Proverbs calls a tree of life and which is able to be seen modeled to us in Jesus?

And what is being set free by truth but salvation?

And he even gives us the helper the remembrancer to recall to our mind that knowledge and help to produce that wisdom which we are supposed to live by.

Amen kardiaoangelous, a salvation that does not deliver us from what we are in bondage to (sin) is not salvation at all
