What do you guys think of Tom Araya from Slayer stating a he's a Christian?

so just because of his musical lyrics, you say he has not repented? I still listen to slayer and will continue to do so. REMEMBER THIS GOD DOES NOT HATE. so quit with all the negative feedback about tom araya he is a metal icon and yes I know his lyrics, but if an artist paints a demonic picture over and over again are they not saved? and are we not already forgiven for our sins by our lord Jesus Christ? so if we are already forgiven , them so is tom and the rest of slayer. funny how we call ourselves Christian but are quick to persecution of others for their doings .... either way he is a christian no matter if you all want him or not....

God does not hate, as you say. And you defend Tom, but yet what was the name of that album.. oh yeah. God Hates Us All. Tell me, how can a man, filled with the Holy Spirit, and a love for God, and the bible spread the message that God hates everyone? The bible says to judge a Christian by their fruits. Their lyrics are typical anti God, anti Christian. So this has nothing to do with hating anyone, or persecution. It has to do with following the biblical command and the standards Christians are to live by. Nothing about this man represents any of this.

Its odd, you seem more worried about this 'metal icon', and quick to trash these people for their opinions, while complaining about people for, as you seem to think, trashing this man. I'm sensing a bit of hypocrisy here.

And no, the entire world is not forgiven. People are only forgiven when they choose to allow Jesus into their heart, and bear the fruits of this rebirth. Seems you have a misunderstanding of the concept of forgiveness and salvation.

This response of yours sounds more trolling than anything. And this thread was made a year ago, and half the people in it are no longer members, or are inactive.

I have no proof of him saying this, but if he did I admire his courage. Its not always the easy thing to do to come out and admit that, I know admitting I was interested in God even with some of my old friends is still a tough thing to do. Personally I don't know the mans heart so weather hes stating the truth or not like the poll asked, I don't know. I admire his courage if he did indeed admit to being a Christian like suggested.

Jesus saves.
But begs to question how many young lives has Slayer affected negatively and also how many young spirits have been turned to darkness and anti God thoughts needlessly (well except for Slayers selfish needs and or agenda)????
I know when I was saved I did not stop listening to heavy metal completely, I did put my slayer in the garbage as I new they were satanic. It was very obvious to me.
By the grace of God I have not drank or taken drugs since that day almost 14 years ago. I am a recovering addict and as I was seeking Gods help using a 12 step program. It seemed obvious to avoid satanic thoughts, imagery and basically as I like to say it "pick a side".
I think Tom wishes he could have his cake and eat it too. I think he wishes he was Christian but in his heart know he sold out to the dark side.
I guess we should all pray for his soul..... Thats what Jesus wants!
