LIGHTupthesky:
I had a room just for me,because I had artwork & stuff I did with my business,so I needed a space...but it wasn't like my ex couldn't use that room or come in it. I think the whole man cave thing is a secular type thing anyways...men don't need anywhere private to talk about guy stuff..we do it anywhere...most times we don't care who's in earshot. LOL
I'm repping this, as soon as I find the 'rep' button :D Well said. LIGHT ! :)

Hi Aimee! Hey, you are a little south of me....did you feel a quake/tremor/wave or something about 20 minutes ago? I didn't see anything on the news, but definitely felt the earth move.

Can I be serious for a moment? I honestly don't have a problem with the man cave.
Men want to have their own thread it is all fine and dandy with me, not that you needed
my permission.

That being said, why would men/ women feel the need for a whole place all their own?
Obviously women have a separate forum to protect and make them feel comfortable about
discussing things that only another woman would understand. What I am referring to is a
man cave in real life. Why does a man get married and then feel they need some place of
their own? I never had a room of my own aka sewing room when I was married. When I
married my ex I wanted to be with him. If I needed"me" time I would go in our room or
go jogging. Do men truly feel they need a separate room to have their space? Just wondering.

I know I could have made a thread about this.
Could have been brought up under the Points of Authorities during the meeting
Women have the ladies restroom, the ladies only forum
Where may men go where they feel safe :(
Lol ok serious...Men are thinkers, fixers and problem solvers...by nature, by Gods design
We think best when...are ya ready. when we are being men
This only happens when the proper and correct amount of the male hormone testosterone is physically present in the body
In other words...in order for a guy to BE A GUY, to think properly and think straight and do what men do best
Sometimes a guy needs to do guy stuff
Lemme ask you this...what happens when a female has an abundance of estrogen present
How does she act and react to things
Ok well by the same token have you ever witnessed a guy act the same way
basically like a girl
Is it attractive or repelling?
So here's the thing
When a mans testosterone is not utilized for what is it meant for
Get this phenomenon...his testosterone turns to estrogen
Hence...why he becomes moody, irritable, etc
Roid rage if you've ever witnessed causes a man to act even more emotional
Not due to the abundance of testosterone, but because the abundance in his body was too much and has turned to estrogen and he isnt used to that and does not know how to handle it.

A guy is most calm, manerable, easy going and fun to relate to when he is....being a man
This doesn't mean he needs time away from his lady
It simply means he needs time to regroup, to let the testosterone part which makes him part of what a man is allowed to function.
A room where he can go load some ammo, clean his guns, hang car pictures up, flyrods on the wall, things which remind him of the essence of how and what he was created for
The hunter gatherer protector
If that makes sense, thats good
if not I can explain deeper, but for you to be able to rely on a man, you must also be able too rely on him being the man he is without any of that being taken away
Much the same as you wouldnt want any of your womanhood being taken away.
It's part of your identity and who you are.
If a man was told to sell what??? His hotrod to buy a Minivan
It may seem chivalrous, yet at the same time, a part of him has just been emasculated
If enough things about him become emasculated,,,he may want more time away from that which has emasculated him
No more tofu, no more Orangejuice without pulp lol

Would somebody please tell me how it is that I am over here behaving myself,
not posting or liking anything in the man cave out of due respect for my friend
SeatBelt( which I will point out isn't easy for me) and Midnite goes and takes
my credit card and not only uses it to buy the man cave pizza but then soils
my wholesome name by bringing it into said man cave????

That's just rude! They're all meanie heads, Chrissy.

Nope, I didn't feel the earthquake, but it's all over the news. If it had been a 7 or 8 we would have felt it over here.

I think married guys like to have a man cave because we ladies tend to feminize our homes. :) They put up with fuzzy toilet seat covers, guest towels they aren't allowed to use, etc. They need one place on the property that's not girlie.

Some where over there *points north east* in the mountains somewhere. I'm in Modesto, so I'm not surprised I didn't feel it.

Yes, I have heard that explanation before and I understand that but at the same time I have seen
people who decorated a house together to make it liveable for both of them.

Wait, guys don't have their own secret forum like us ladies do?
yeah, oh great reader of thread titles, we don't. So I tried to give us a thread. One little postage stamp on the giant desk of CC.
It didn't seem like much to ask for.

Yeah... I'm not one to really want to girlie things up a whole lot (except for my bedroom), but I probably like a few more feminine touches than most guys would care for if they were living alone. I still have a feeling that men compromise a little more than we do in the home décor decisions. :)

That was an impeccably good post. Worthy of copy/pasting somewhere or even just printing for later.

Well, as the men always say about us, I will never understand them but I am alright with that.

Chrissy, you should know...one must study their prey,,,errr umm victim...uhhh desire of the heart to understand them.
If it is true one fears what one does not understand
Then it would also be true that one no longer fears what is now understood.

I think both need their personal time
Now my question is , what if the woman Also has guns , ammo, crossbows , arrows, Fly rods , fly tying kits , Alaskan snow shoes, and of course rattling antlers and such ? do they share the same cave, share the same walls? But now that I'm thinking about it ... I wouldn't need that because honestly.. all of mine hang as decorations on the walls of the house ..okay never mind .. problem solved

At the risk of alienating the women of CC from me more than I already have, you don't want to read what's in the Women's forum anyway. There isn't much of anything of interest posted there.
