You left out the begging part of Acts 11 which is a CONTINUATION OF ACTS 10 which says this

It also points out very clearly that the water was subsequent to the Holy Spirit and thereby not essential for salvation. Your bible version goes a little over the line when it assumes that Peter ordered them to be water baptized. Peter inquired if they wanted to receive water baptism. Water baptism is always voluntary never mandatory.

It s amazing how evil has divided churches among the history, because his strategy is division. God's salvation is grace, but for the love of God's words, people should follow what Jesus learned to us. But anyway, 1 Cor 13-12 is a hope, and all 1 Cor 13 talks about the nature of God = Love and not law. Be blessed all in Jesus.

I once was a deaf man and went to a place of worship, walked in and saw another man moving and picking his feet up and down, he was responding to the music that that man was hearing and so being deaf not knowing what this man was doing in truth I started to imitate him and not long after I was able to perform as he did, still not knowing what I was doing being deaf, others came in and started doing the same thing, before long we had a whole congrgation of Lemmings.

By saying one must get Water Babtized and is not saved unless they get this done is making it a law, when all that believe have been called to freedom, to choose for themselves, and takes away free choice whether one believes or not.

Which Babtism is this speaking of John's or Christ's. This is after the cross not before, after the new life, the resurrection and was done before any of us here were ever born. We look back at the cross where it is all done finished over.

What was Peter commanding them do in the verse RIGHT before it? I think it's pretty clear in that verse Peter is talking about WATER baptism,it says water,see below.

With all due respect to your list of translations the word translated commanded in this text is protasso 4367 in Strongs. Translated to command to enjoin and or to bid. Now the usage you ascribe is based on the word keleuo 2753 in Strongs which is more correctly translated to command to order.

However there is no biblical support for water baptism having any salvitic merit. Only by grace and Holy Spirit baptism administered by Christ are we saved and that the moment we receive Him by believing in Gods word.

why is it significant for us today??? because JESUS commanded it to be so. Then Peter even preached on it at pentecost. then after pentecost others were still being baptized in water just like it was commanded.
