Hi Blain

ROMANS 8 [24] For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?[25] But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

You think you were saved on a certain day. Right? What do ya do with above scripture? If your already saved what do you then patiently hope for. Its really very clear
it is our hope which is not see that we base our faith in.

What hope do you have? you can see how good you are or how bad you are (per say) so how is faith in this??

We are saved, and our hope is based on eternal life, Which God, who can not lie, promised before time began.. or do we just throw this verse out from Titus?

PSALM 119 [165] Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.[166] LORD, I have hoped for thy salvation, and done thy commandments.[167] My soul hath kept thy testimonies; and I love them exceedingly.
ALL people born of God believe and do these things.. Whats your problem? You think they will not do the very things God said they WILL DO??

So again I ask you, like others.

Did your father know every sin you ever commited?
Did he tell you your obedience was required for you to be his child?
Did your father kick you out, or threaten to kick you out of his family if you did certain things?
Are not ALL sins against your father the same in your fathers eyes??

Is God a worse father than your earthly father, or will he not love you even more.. since he paid the debt for you to be adopted in the first place. the price being his son?
Let me ask you a question or two.
1. Does your father want you to be harmed?
2. Does your father want good things for you or bad?

Sin will only cause harm that is why the text says that God does not want us to sin. The Bible says the law is good that is why God wants us to keep the law.

Yes i do think it is a good idea to be rid of pride, But not agreeing you with you does not mean i am prideful. I simply am telling my view on things and why i do not agree with yours. This kind of thing has been here in the world since the beginning of sin, If i have any Pride in me all I can do ask the lord to teach me and show me his ways which I ask a lot for fear of ever becoming the kind of people he warns about. I do follow any kind of certain doctrine or teaching. The way I see it as long as i seek his heart in all things i cannot possibly fall prey to any kind of false teaching. However this is not always easy as we wish to believe things our ears want to hear.
I don't wish you believe my words but the scriptures. Pride and vanity....its right there in the Word.

Yeah, those itching ears

REV. 22 [14] Blessed are THEY THAT DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, that they may have right to the tree of life, and MAY ENTER IN THROUGH THE GATES INTO THE CITY.

Do you think you can forsake Gods law and keep not His commandments, and still be crowned and enter into the (city) kingdom.

REV. 3 [10] Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. [11] Behold, I come quickly: HOLD THAT FAST WHICH THOU HAST, THAT NO MAN TAKE THY CROWN. [12] Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of THE CITY OF MY GOD, WHICH IS NEW JERUSALEM, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Hold on to that crown

2 TIMOTHY 4 [3] For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having ITCHING EARS; [4] And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. [5]But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. [6] For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. [7] I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: [8] Henceforth there is laid up for me A CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Theres those itching ears

PROVERBS 4 [1] Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. [2] For I give you good doctrine, FORSAKE YE NOT MY LAW. [3] For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. [4] He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, AND LIVE. [5] Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. [6] Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. [7] Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. [8] Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. [9] She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: A CROWN OF GLORY shall she deliver to thee.

Proverbs4 and 2Tim.2 Im ever amazed at how the new verifies the old
Both scriptures – grace
Both scriptures – crowned
Both scriptures – understanding
Both scriptures – Keep my commandments and strive lawfully

2 TIM. 2 [1] Thou therefore, my son, BE STRONG IN THE GRACE THAT IS IN CHRIST JESUS. [2] And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. [3] Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. [4] No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. [5] And if a man also strive for masteries, YET IS HE NOT CROWNED, EXCEPT HE STRIVE LAWFULLY.

Proverbs 4:4-9 (KJV)
4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

Don't look to dangerous to me
Of course not, It did not look dangerous to the pharisee either.. But we know how saved they were.. They will spend an eternity in hell, unless, like Saul, who repented and became pau, they repent and come to Christ.

Scripture tells you they can not be mixed.

Rom 11: 6 And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

as for mixing law and grace.
Lets look at galations:

[SUP]6 [/SUP]I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you [SUP][c][/SUP]by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; [SUP]7 [/SUP]which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. [SUP]8 [/SUP]But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel [SUP][d][/SUP]contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be [SUP][e][/SUP]accursed! [SUP]9 [/SUP]As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel [SUP][f][/SUP]contrary to what you received, he is to be [SUP][g][/SUP]accursed!

A double curse. What was Paul cursing? what was being mixed into the gospel of Christ? lets look!

[SUP]16 [/SUP]knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

[SUP]10 [/SUP]For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in ALL things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.”[SUP][e][/SUP] [SUP]11 [/SUP]But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.”[SUP][f][/SUP] [SUP]12 [/SUP]Yet the law is not of faith, but “the man who does them shall live by them.”

If you want to be saved by law. you will be required to do ALL the law. that means 100% obayance, as it is written, You must obey ALL commands, with no disobedience.

[SUP]13 [/SUP]Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”[SUP][h][/SUP]), [SUP]14 [/SUP]that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

we recieve the promise (eternal life) by faith. not by working the law (obeying) Christ freed us by the curse of the law by dieing for us, how can you add to what hrist did? YOU CANT!

1. No
2. Good

Thats why God wants us to do good. But God is not going to force us to good. no more than our father will. He will allow us to make our own decisions, so we know the pain and suffering we cause ourselves by not obeying him is this not right?

As a child. did we not think out parents were holding back? as an adult. do we not now realise how right our parents were?? Is this not called beng mature people??

is not sanctification the same as we grow in Christ??

The point is, Did our father kick us out of our family for sinning? No. Why would God??

But don't forget how easy it is to take scripture out of context to fit our own agenda. It's so easy to misunderstand scripture, and this is why I always say to be careful when you post scripture because the word of God is very precious and not to be messed with. The Holy spirit is Given to any believer who proclaims that Jesus is lord. Pride is the fruit of the unsaved. but why would I seek all these things i pray for if the spirit of God had not planted these desires in my heart? And have I been prideful in posts to you? can you show me where please so I may correct myself?

MATTHEW 5 [17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. [18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. [19] Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. [20] For I say unto you, That EXCEPT YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS SHALL EXCEED THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF THE SCRIBES AND PHARISEES, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Thats very clear. Actually teach and keep the commandments and your righteousness will exceed the righteousness of the scribes and phariees.

LUKE 12 [1] In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, BEWARE YE OF THE LEAVEN OF THE PHARISEES, WHICH IS HYPOCRISY.

Scripture above does not say the leaven of the pharisees was the keeping of Gods 10 commandments. Its hypocrisy. They were hypocrits.

MATTHEW 23 [1] Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, [2] Saying, THE SCRIBES AND THE PHARISEES SIT IN MOSES' SEAT: [3] ALL THEREFORE WHATSOEVER THEY BID YOU OBSERVE, THAT OBSERVE AND DO; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. [4] For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. [5] But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

Again very clear. We are to do what the scribes and pharisees say. The scribes and pharisees say but do not do. They are hypocrits.

1 CORINTHIANS 5 [6] Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? [7] PURGE OUT THEREFORE THE OLD LEAVEN, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: [8] Therefore let us KEEP THE FEAST, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Many make the claim that the leaven speaks of the law. Couldnt be further from the truth. Scripture above says purge out the old leaven and in the very next verse tells us to keep the Feast of unleavened bread which is written in law.

MATTHEW 23 [23] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: THESE OUGHT YE TO HAVE DONE, AND NOT TO LEAVE THE OTHER UNDONE.

what a gross misinterpretation of the word. The pharisees were seen by the world as the most righteous people on earth. Much like many of the people of many churches today, No one could find fault with them, because they did not sin openly. and lived their lives striving to obay All Gods commands, they though it is what made them right with God.. It was there mistake like it is yours.

Jesus said, unless our righteousness exceds theres, (which I might add would most likely be impossible) we have no hope. Jesus was making a point, which you totally missed!

these people did not murder, commit adultry, steel or any of the sins you all love to throw down our throats, But they were STILL sinners. and Still not good enough to get to heaven.

If we took a pharisee and placed him next to you. And took a reading of every sin both of you commited, I gaurantee they would have less sin than you.. And more good deeds than you. and you think you earn it by your good works?? your no better than them, and have bought into the leven of their teachings by returning to law..

That may be true but also we are expected to grow in grace and knowledge not stay still. Just as a child grows
2 Peter 3:18 KJV
(18) But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

A 15 year old should not be making the same mistakes as a 5 year old. In the same way as we grow in grace and knowledge we should not be making the same mistakes over and over.

LOL calm down buddy, teach with love and compassion. In all honestly I am no better than he is and am no better than you. we are all sinners and all children of God because he created us. He dearly loves us all and we should probably treat each other as we want to be treated.

[SUP]16 [/SUP]knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

Well EG we are not under the works of the law

HEBREWS 10 [1] For THE LAW HAVING A SHADOW of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.[2] For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.[3] But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.[4] FOR IT IS NOT POSSIBLE THAT THE BLOOD OF BULLS AND OF GOATS SHOULD TAKE AWAY SINS.

Theres the works of the law we are not under

HEBREWS 13 [9] Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be ESTABLISHED WITH GRACE; NOT WITH MEATS, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. [10] We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle. [11] For THE BODIES OF THOSE BEASTS, WHOSE BLOOD is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. [12] WHEREFORE JESUS ALSO, THAT HE MIGHT SANCTIFY THE PEOPLE WITH HIS OWN BLOOD, suffered without the gate.

Again. Its grace alone....not by the blood of animals which were the works of the law.

Why?

JOHN 6 [53] Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. [54] Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. [55] For MY FLESH IS MEAT INDEED, and MY BLOOD IS DRINK INDEED.

no no no, eternal is just saying they thought themselves so high and mighty and so right with God they assumed they did not need salvation. Their ignorance and pride and wicked hearts were their down fall.

According to the scriptures Jesus did not do away with the law but made the law greater. He magnified the law to a spiritual level. He made the 10 commandments even harder to keep.

2 COR. 3 [6] WHO ALSO HATH MADE US ABLE MINISTERS OF THE NEW TESTAMENT; NOT OF THE LETTER, BUT OF THE SPIRIT: FOR THE LETTER KILLETH, BUT THE SPIRIT GIVETH LIFE. [7] But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: [8] How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?

ROMANS 7 [6] But now we are DELIVERED FROM THE LAW, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should SERVE IN NEWNESS OF SPIRIT, AND NOT IN THE OLDNESS OF THE LETTER.

As we can see in above scriptures we are now to walk in the spirit of the law. If we walk only in the letter of the law this will lead to death, but if we walk in the spirit of the law this leads to life.

MATTHEW 5 [20] For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. [21] Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, THOU SHALT NOT KILL; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: [22] BUT I SAY UNTO YOU, THAT WHOSOEVER IS ANGRY WITH HIS BROTHER WITHOUT A CAUSE SHALL BE IN DANGER OF THE JUDGMENT: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

OLD LETTER- Thou shalt not kill
NEW SPIRIT- Don’t even get angry. Call no man a fool. Love one another in thought, word and deed.

MATTHEW 5 [27] Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, thou shalt not commit adultery: [28] But i say unto you, that WHOSOEVER LOOKETH ON A WOMAN TO LUST AFTER HER HATH COMMITTED ADULTERY with her already in his heart.

OLD LETTER- Thou shalt not commit adultery
NEW SPIRIT- Do not look on a woman to lust. Keep the law in our mind and spirit. Even in our eyes.

So you can see that Jesus did not do away with the letter of the law. Common sense will tell ya in order to walk in the spirit of the law you must also be walking in the letter. Jesus made the commandments even harder to keep and more honorable.

ISAIAH 42 [20] Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.[21] The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; HE WILL MAGNIFY THE LAW, and make it honourable.

Yes, Jesus magnified the law. He took the letter of the law (which leads to death) and magnified the law to a spiritual level (which leads to life).

In a way I agree with you, I said before that we follow and obey the law because we love him, and the law is basically the fruit of the spirit. Now if we were to truly grow in the spirit he would prune us and we would naturally do our best to follow his laws but not because they make us right with him persay but because we have great love and respect for him. Jesus is the bridge that connects our hearts to the law, the word of god is written on our hearts because of his blood. When our hearts make that supernatural connection to the lords heart, the law isn't something we feel we must do but something we actually want to do because it gives us great pleasure to please God.

Sin dishonors God and hurts people. Sin is the transgression of the law. The standards of the New Testament are higher than those of the Old Testament. According to Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, murder and adultery happen in the heart before they happen externally. God restrains evil or it would be worse on the external. God sees hearts. Love is the fulfillment of the law. Law is a schoolmaster to lead people to Christ. Christ loves and Christ's disciples love God and love others also. Faith works through love.

John plainly says the contrary...

1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

There is a remedy for the sins we commit, the mistakes we make...

1Jn 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
1Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
