Not to be rude, but you're basically asking "what is your opinion on the not guilty verdict"

I understand it but am against them rideculing those of faith.

I was raised by atheists and got in trouble and rideculed if i was found praying or speaking of god.

I had friend in teenage years who was somewhat involved with satinism and i was introduced to music that sang of such that was really good actually.
He was actually one of the only friends that was true.
For things are not always as they seem.
Grand illusion of the perfect cheer leader and soccer girl is truly da evil one lol....just doesnt look that way.
Danzing is one that sings of devil but golly do they play good music and what a beautiful voice he has.

I still beleive that candy sugar sweet falseness can be more evil than genuine hardcor ing and balancing or chaneling these energies in a good manner.
Some one who says jesus name in vain and love you etc to manipulate and get money , get away with crime etc like those crimers and gay ones in vatican is more dangerous and worse than a innocent satinist .
change the name and the crimes the same and the one doing it likewise.

Later i met other people they were more dangerous as they did black magic and i beleive i was feeling it.
They were open about it.
felt tortured these years and sometimes like knife was stabbing me (voodoo doll ?) and many other things

i feel open .
as such. lol
buuut , should respect eachothers rights to beleive or not believe.
Like a family saying someone mad for not believing lol "harry has grown mad, he nolonger beleives in god "
Or a atheist "harry is mad he beleives a angel was talking to him and that he saw a angel"
Either way , harry is mad.....
mad mader than all the bats.
poor harry is darned if he does darned if he doesn't

But yet atheists claim to be the most tolerant ones. Hmm...

There's no such thing in modern paradigms. Tolerance is intolerant of intolerance. Respect and grace for others views is a notion as quaint as the whalebone corset.

It used to be something that people who were this way honestly wanted to dialogue, now it has become a form of Fundamentalist Atheism where there is no dialogue, and it's an attitude of "How dare you question my beliefs"

There are no real atheists, they like to pretend they are, but they actively have to callous/sear their conscience towards unbelief, this is why they get so uppity like the Fundamentalist atheist, it's the same with homosexuals and the crazy outlandish statements, and in your face attitude

That's hardly a fair - let alone, subjective - censure, and the worldview here is somewhat irrelevant to the criticism.

BUT─ since the point and purpose of the thread was to see what people think on Atheism, I can respect that, and even half (give or take) agree. :)

Yes. I think it not good when others try to put you in their basket of eggs, when all any of us maybe could do is say what we think without condeming, I mean as I see it God went to the cross and died for the sins of the whole world, took it away, why? So we could be made anew in God's Spirit by the resurrection as proof, if we will beleive God did this for us each personally
John 10:10The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
This typeof life I found is unconditional love as in 1 cor 13:4-13

I don't say this as a boast, it is only to make my point. I taught my self to read when I was three years old. By the time I was five years old, I had already realized that due to all of the missing information evolution is impossible.
That pretty much ties it up for me. Atheism is just, well.....Self deceiving.

Hi
An atheist is a non believer.
My heart as I am sure the Lords heart pains to know that a sheep is lost.
Satan on the other hand is quite pleased with the atheist.
An atheist is a lost sheep.
The lord is my shepherd.
For the non believer
There will be a wailing and gnashing of teeth.

As far as Atheism goes, I understand and can see it. In essence, I am an Agnostic Atheist right now (not 100% sure, but leaning towards Atheism over religiosity while looking at Christianity with a skeptical and empirical eye).

When I look to the sky over the Rocky mountains, what do I see? Do I see heaven and Angels or the wonder of God? Not exactly. Beyond the puffy clouds and blue-hued sky I think of space. How vast it is. How unfathomable. How I, standing on a spot of grass on our tiny pale blue dot is just a fraction of an atom in the sheer vastness of existence. It doesn't make me sad, it makes me happy because it means here I am. A bipedal mammal on a tiny little rock capable of contemplating my own insignificance in relation to the rest of the universe. It's a beautiful thing. It means we are special (either divinely or no, that point is moot right now).

Science without wonder is worthless. That's where a lot of religious people go wrong, they believe science is this cold, hard, uncompromising calculator rigidly punching out hypothesis, theories and facts. That's not the case at all. Scientists are more akin to Priests and Pastors than Mathematicians.

In order to discover and have the will to discover new facts about our existence a Scientists would have to be filled with awe and wonder at the physical universe. They would have to have an imagination capable of comprehending the unknown and willing to dive deep into the abyss to grab a shred of truth.

That's how I see Atheism in my own romanticized way. It's not a lack of light, it's simply an 'embrace of the darkness to reveal the tiny, microscopic specks of light. One at a time.' Do I think Atheism and science will have all the answers in the next 50, 100, 500, 1000, 5000 years? No. Not really. We aren't supposed to. Once we know everything life becomes pointless in my opinion.

Cheers!

While wandering the Rocky Mountains you stumble upon an I-phone. What are the odds you will think it "evolved" and came to be on it's own? Now consider the complexities of a single cell or a butterfly, or a solar system. That somehow you could even entertain the idea that these things weren't CREATED by an intelligent designer is beyond my comprehension. I pray that you would stay on CC, as an honest skeptic and the Lord would soften your heart and you would accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

I wasn't talking about Evolution. I was just stating how I stood in relation to Atheism. While Atheism is a refusal to believe in deities, it doesn't mean an abject hatred of deities or God.

Just because something is beyond your comprehension doesn't make it any less true. The world being 6,000 years old is beyond my comprehension yet I refuse to participate in Creation vs. Evolution debates. I crossed that bridge a long time ago. When people stop looking for absolute truth in the things they cannot change, then, and only then, can they put their focus on God and the goodness of working to better the world (either as a Christian or, taking God out of the picture, an Atheist. Or for that fact a Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, etc).

As stated before, I'm searching right now. Primarily the Catholic Church (due to my being baptized Catholic and the Church's views on the relations between science and faith). I do believe Atheists and Christians can work together if they out aside the differences in belief and work together to create a better world. Regardless of the side one is on, division is human and looking for differences and branding a group due to differences is inheritely unChristian.

Getting you to your "building a better world" place is a step by step process.

Step 1. Believe there is a Creator of the universe

Step 2. Understand that you are not Him.

Step 3. Accept that His Word (Bible) is the absolute Truth.

Step 4. Realize that humanity is in a fallen state in need of a Savior.

Step 5. Confess that YOU are a sinner and accept God's only Son, Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior.

Step 6. Spread this Gospel to anyone and everyone that they too may be saved.

Step 7. Wait for the Lord's return to establish a "better world".

Another reason I lean towards Catholicism. I'm assuming you're Protestant? I don't believe anyone serves any god by faith without works. Or works without faith for that matter. You need both.

One doesn't have to be religious to do good. Before I thought about Christianity I was a mentor for kids on probation or whose parents are imprisoned.

In short, a better world can be accomplished secularly. Though it doesn't hurt to have faith while doing so. It only hurts when there is a complete disregard for the state of our planet. When people see religion as a means to have a disgusting ignorance of damage we, as humans, are causing the planet and ourselves, then I have an issue.

Stop trying to convert me in this thread. It's not the time or place for that. Actually discuss the things I'm saying if you're going to comment.

I can't really discuss steps 5,6,and 7 without you taking 1,2,3, and 4 first.

I never asked you to. I'm not looking for you to convert me or enlighten me. I'm looking for you to actually discuss the things I'm saying instead of just droning on about unrelated ways of proselytizing. Make sense?
