I think this is a great song , for many reasons. The image of Christ on the anchor anvil, rope wrapped around His neck is something to behold, it says in Scripture that we are to 'suffer' like Christ suffered, Christ suffered down to His soul when He was praying up to God and wanting to NOT become a human sacrifice. Jesus did NOT want to go on that cross ! Get that !! He did NOT want to die for you or me, in His human self body. "Lord, not My will but Thy will be done." Right? :) God had plans for His Son, and, they were incredible plans and as you listen to this song, do you sense the beauty and joy from Jesus' following the will of His Father, that was to save YOU and ME :)

I ask you, and, me, this question, are OUR lives anchored in Him, He who is the Keeper of our soul :)

In Luke 22: 42-44. He knew what was up. He prayed so hard his sweat was like drops of blood. If we think it wasn't hard for him to do the Fathers will then we would be wrong. I need to remember that when I get off track and think my walk is hard. My walk is hard if I make it hard. Resting in Jesus, the one who has already defeated everything it is easy. It's only hard if I am dragged away and tempted by my own desires. I I have not even had to suffer like Christ suffered so whatever suffering we do get we should be joyful about it knowing that it is nothing. We fight a battle that has been won and have an intercessor who fights for us. dig the song GreenNnice.

I came in wanting to derail like crazy, then read the posts above and was like...no. That wouldn't be right.

...so I'm posting and derailing anyway...?

Passing thru Midland. I hate Midland.

I'm only able to have time midday to read this because I'm a teacher with summer off. How the heck are the rest of you just all chilling here midday? (I know Cristen is a SAHP.)

I am awaiting going to an orthopedic doctor concerning my knee. I went to the ER and I have hardly any cartilage in my knee also have a nice spike of a bone spur right by the knee cap and several calcium deposits on the bottom of the Femur where it should be gliding smoothly on the meniscus. In a lot of pain and just trying to maintain.

I'm a single mom. I home school my kids. Then when they go to their dad's house on Friday I work like crazy on Fri, Sat,Sun,and Mon morning before I pick them up. My daughter is already a third of the way through her school work for next year and my son only needed to take his final and finish up some odds and ends for the year. This past month I have been on more than normal. I get on between working with kids, grading school, cleaning, cooking, and whatever else my day entails. Come September you will rarely see me on much until after 6pm and then its only from my phone. I don't turn my computer on unless it is school or bill related until 1030 or 11 when my kids are sound asleep. I know that was more than you asked for but there it is. BTW Shour you could work with my son and daughter on their music. My son plays the keyboard by ear and my daughter is just learning to play. I'm working on teaching them the fundamentals though.

I think it's awesome that you homeschool your kids, Rose. My mom homeschooled me for a little while when I was in elementary school and I absolutely loved it and was tremendously blessed by it. I'm willing to bet that your kids are tremendously blessed by you and your teaching, too. :)

Yeah. Cruising back to Hell Paso from visiting family in Irving. My issues with Midland have more to do with someone who lives there. -_-

Well, THAT sounds like the funnest day ever. I'm sure I wouldn't take that over a day at work. Praying your pain is soothed.

Teach 'em to read, teach 'em to read, teach 'em to read! I never object to having a kiddo come in to the program already musically accomplished, but the one's who spent years only learning by ear are often the hardest to teach, because they can't see the value in it...until two years later when they have to sight-read for a judge. But good on ya for getting them going on piano - that will prepare them for anything. No joke.

And good on all you SAHPs. In today's financial environment, I know how difficult a choice that is, but as the child of a SAHM, I know I benefitted from not living in daycare as a toddler. I am also pretty sure my mom worked harder keeping me corralled at home than my dad ever did on the flight line, so mad props to all of you.

at a grocery store cafe area where they have Giada's show on the Food Network. She is grilling dainty little girlie things, explaining that the premise of episode is that grilling isn't just a guy thing. I find the whole concept of "girl food" and "boy food" incredibly stupid.

DED..........I will be praying for yer' knee bro. One of my knees & my lower back has never been the same since my car accident in my mid-twenties,and I remember the doc. telling me that as I got older stuff was gonna hurt more & more. I have always fought against that & still do,but yeah..some days the pain really is noticeable & I have to bite the bullet. I have a pretty high tolerance to pain,so if I complain about something, trust me...I am in a LOT of pain.

Cat...I am on pins & needles wondering what awesomeness could be involved in your hazelnut story...hurry up & drop all those important things in your life right now,get yer' buns to CC & entertain me for my amusement!!! Chop Chop,my good man!

Thanks!

Yeah this is why I'm teaching him to read music.
I've actually heard differing of opinions amongst music teachers but I want him to have every chance he can possibly have.

Might have been because I read Herder's post about Giada and cooking first, but I just read Cat's signature as, '...poseur in paprika.' Then my brain went, "Uhhhhh, what?"

I'm surprised Cristen hasn't responded to the notion we're cool with her combusting just so we can make s'mores.
