Circumcision came long before the law and has nothing to do with works of law that Paul is referring to in Galatians 3:2. Circumcision is not a work of law. It was done to an infant by someone else when he was 8 days old. By saying works of law, Paul is referring to the mindset that is unable to grasp the freedom which we have in Christ, and is constantly trying to justify itself before GOD by doing things.

Didn't say there was a question about who said it, I said that if GOD said to do something would you do it and your answer illustrates what I said.

Start reading at Gal.2 to understand the one liner you posted. Gal.3{2-3} has nothing to do with the 10 commandments. Its all about the law of circumcision. Period.

The law is the law. All commands are part of the law.

As paul said, If it were not for the law, he would not know what sin is.. This is referring to the 10 commands.

You people need to face the fact you already failed to keep the ten. Thus you can obey the ten all you want, You will still fall short of the Glory of God.

And you can not keep the law today. WHy do you think you can be holy enough to EARN the right to be children of God??

Not by works of righteousness why we have done (obeying the ten commands or any works) He saved us (past tense) by the washing and renewing of the HS.

We do not get the right to be children of God by obeying commands. We are made children of God by BELIEVING in him, and RECIEVING HIS GIFT!

We receive the Holy Spirit by faith of course. Who then receives the Holy spirit?

Act 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

Notice the conjunction there? It is a continued thought, keep the Commandments and I will pray to the Father that you receive the Holy Spirit and it will abide with you forever. - note: this is a paraphrase of the KJV

Ephesians 1:13-14 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, [SUP]14 [/SUP]who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Why would paul say we are sealed until the redemption day, if it is only until the day we do not obey God good enough to earn it??

Your doing exactly what paul said not to do. You gained it by faith, but trying to perfect it with law.. In doing so you MOCK the very death of Christ. Who said IT IS FINISHED!

Why do we establish the law by faith?

Amen, Circumcision was given over 400 years before the law and ten commands were established. What about all those poor people like Abraham Issac Jacob and the rest who died without having the full law? I guess they are doomed to eternal death??

Circumcision represents the OLD covenant, Which could never save anyone.

the ten commands are a part of the OLD Covenent, commonly referred to the jews as "the law"

You are NOT free from keeping the Law (10 Commandments). You are free from the Penalty of Violating Gods Law.

A man was sentenced to die by hanging for a muder he was convicted of. The Govenor heard about the man and his conviction. Before the Death sentence could be carried out, the Govenor came and gave that man a full pardon. He was free to go.
Because that man was so grateful to the Govenor, he kept all the Govenors laws.

What do you suppose that Govenor would do if he found out the same man was disobeying the laws of his territory????

Even 6 year old kids understand this. They know we are to obey God and observe and do all His Commandments. I don't know why adults can't understand that we are to obey God.

When a child learns to walk,,, he falls. Do we say, "Stay down,, you will only fall again."???? Or do we set him upright and tell him to keep trying??? So it is with keeping Gods Law. If I fail,, I ask God to forgive me, and I keep trying. I keep working and cultivating a relationship that will bring to have a character like that of Jesus. God abhors sin!!! He knows verywell what it has caused. We should abhor sin too, instead of justifying it, or saying, we can't help it.
