Gospel is such a beautiful music.

I wonder is it good to have a gospel chat room to sing gospel or/and listen for those who do not want to sing.

There is the YouSing room, and that is about as close as it gets to the heart of the subject matter. Different chat rooms allow for a longer duration of time to use the mic before you're cut off. :)

What is the definition of "singing gospel music"? Is it a solo by one person, or is it a group singing together for the fun of praising and thinking about God? The yousing room will accomodate the first, but not the second. This is the heart of my technical observation.

The few times I've looked, no one seems to be using it. I suggest that few CC'ers feel they have the abilities to do a good job soloing.

Its that most of them sing in the Lounge. It has less to do with no one wanting to sing, and more to do with most users don't want to go listen. And the few that do aren't willing to leave the Lounge. So the Lounge turns into singing instead.

I don't listen very often, but the few times I have gone there, I have not heard any singing. Maybe one day I will.

We had a room once that put all the chatters in it on at the same time. Looked like the Hollywood Squares or something. They tried singing, but due to individual lag it didn't work. It was kinda fun, though.:p

But I keep hoping someone will solve the lag problem.
I think Stephen meant lag per each user's internet connection. The only way to circumvent this is for everyone connecting to use cable or some fiber optic network. The site would also need to have hardware that can accommodate that much bandwidth at a time.

The problem is the hardware does not seem to exist. That's what the other thread we exchanged some views in, was about. The best out there is tricky to use, expensive per user, and limited to 5, who must agree beforehand.

I imagine using a chat client like Skype is different (and therefore, more complicated). A server should be capable of handling the bandwidth, but then again, I don't think CC's server has that capacity. :(
