That distinction can be made for 'all,' I think, squirrelman, as those who receive His Spirit poured upon them , are 'even on My servants,' so, yes, well said : )was there a "lasts days" for Israel as a chosen priesthood and the Old Covenant as prophecied

"all flesh" cant be "all" certainly unbelievers dont have the Spirit poured out on them..

true but i think Joels "all" is referring to "last days" folk
and if that is the same "last days" prophesied all over the OT
then there may be a distinction. Although im not a cessationist
by all definitions this distinction sure beats other key scriptures
to show something special happened at a certain time for a certain purpose.

The Day of Pentecost was the beginning of the Promise, NOT just one day where tongues were spoken and 3000 people accepted Christ, it was a burgeoning, monumental, earmarked, christening EVENT that marked the world over, which, albeit, was small back then compared to now, but, it marked the beginning of men AND WOMEN going out and USING their spiritual gifts , ALL of them, tongues, prophesying, healings, all KINDS of miracles (through God) that go on even as I AM speaking now, done, faith-fully, as He leads.
The Lord leads, milady, did back in Peter's time, in Noah's time, in David's time, and, in OUR time, the end is coming, much has HAPPENED by His divine power to empower us to do His will in bringing on the end of all things coming one day to all people ,where 'judgment' will rule the day and then life evermore with or without Jesus. This is Scripture and these are the final ACTS to life here on Earthor be with Jesus on a new Earth forevermore.

you said you were certain Revelation did NOT make clear that Pentecost was fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost, right after jesus ascended.
you said nowhere in scripture does it say Acts 2 was THE fulfillment of the promise exactly as Joel and the other prophets spoke of.
so, please go to Revelation and show me what it says about the HS being poured out in our future - per JOEL.
use all the other prophets if you can.

'The last days' are HERE now but they were NOT just a short length of time, the 'last days' are STILLL coming to pass, and, eventually, the last days will end, as Peter says, 'The end is coming,' and, no, Peter did NOT know when the end was coming but Peter thought the end of time was coming when he was alive, but, no, the 'Day Of The Lord' has not happened yet, and, I don't see it happening for a long time myself, because there will be a RAPTURE first and then a 7 year (70 weeks) tribulation time progressively getting worse, AND , then Christ will come for the millenium time and new Earth after that, as I believe, my pre-trib view, of course, we have here, eschatalogically speaking

well green my point was only that many OT scriptures refer to "the last days"
"on that day" "the day of the Lord" etc each are unique after studied awhile...not all are the same.
And if you dont understand these distinctions you may goof in the inference in NT scripture references.

Oh zone, what MUST happen If one is to receive His Spirit. By faith, right? Scripture says this. Therefore, 'upon ALL flesh,' refers to ALL flesh who receives His righteousness will then receive His Spirit.
So, as usual, stephenspeaks, says it well, as the Lord leads Him, 'the righteous people' receive the Spirit of God poured upon them, which are ALL, but, IF , for example, water is poured upon a concrete with a plant in it, the water does not make it to the plant, the plant MUST be on good soil.
Remember, 'none are righteous,' just as Romans 3 says, 'No, not one (of us).' But, by His blood, believing in His Son having died on the cross, we are IMPUTED Christ's righteousness. This is done by/from/in/within 'the heart' of EVERY believer, ohzone (Romans 10 )

Well, anyone can sit in their little corner of the world, access the internet to its fullest, & still not know what's going on. Happens to denominations all the time. They only think they know what's going on, because they hear what their religious peers are talking about. I don't believe mine. "Prove all things" isn't done that way. What can't be fully proven because of the vagueness of scripture can be proven with prayer & personal experience. However, if one's personal experience has already failed them in earlier years due to ignorance, that's one they're not going to trust. And if they don't trust their own, they're not going to trust anyone else's either. So to some, they will never be convinced, & it will be their own fault.
