Exo 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

While having a go at the neighbors spouse. This explanation should be quite interesting.

By not committing adultery you think you keep the law.

But if you want to have a go with the neighbors wife you have committed adultery in your heart.

How do you stop from wanting to have a go with the neighbors wife? By keeping the law and not committing adultery? Your remembrance of that law reminds you that you still want the neighbors wife which makes you guilty of breaking that law. So that's not working...

Your flesh isn't stopping your flesh from wanting what it wants. Right?

Hey Look. I just found something. Its a bible and it has a New Testament. Its really interesting. Maybe there is something in there that tells us about this New Way???

I can tell you how not to do it.

By thinking to yourself. Thou shalt not commit adultry. God said no, so I better listen to him or else. You know, like mom said do not get a cookie.. Which we never would have though of in the first place. Until mom mentioned it.. So what did we do. We continuously thought of the cookie. And 9 times out of ten, we stole the cookie.

Why does the law not help? because this only reminds you of what you want to do in the first place. And it can not help.

This is not seeking the spirit. this is trying to be righteous of our own flesh. under our own power. and 9 times out of ten, we will fail!

the way to not commit adultry is get to the reason you want to in the first place. then prove that what your flesh wants you to do is a lie. And why it is a lie. Why does God want us not to do this??

I have seen this work in MANY a peoples lives, and seen people change drastically.

Something I NEVER saw when people are placed under law. What I saw there was sin, which was hidden, Until it was finally (as it will be)exposed..Why did they hide it and not follow the law? Because the ROOT CAUSE OF THE ISSUE was not dealt with.

You want to commit adultery with your neighbor's wife, but don't because you don't want to break GOD's law. You've kept the letter of the law, but violated its spirit and are therefore guilty of adultery in GOD's eyes. In your eyes you are righteous, but in GOD's eyes you are wicked.

A righteous man would not even consider committing adultery with his neighbor's wife. Therefore, he keeps the spirit of the law, and through that, the letter of the law.

Your problem is that you fixate on law to maintain righteousness, which only enables you to keep the letter of the law..

Jesus did not say anything that contradicted what was written. Jesus came to fulfill the law, fulfill does not mean do away with. The law already existed before Sinai. The 7 feasts however were new, they did not have them before Sinai, the sanctuary was given at Sinai. We still have a high priest, Jesus. We still have passover, Jesus. We still have a sanctuary, in heaven. We still need a sacrifice for our sins, Jesus.

However, I would not say a spiritual man could never be tempted. Romans 7 shows this. The difference is the spiritual man has the power to be able to not do what he wants, And gives glory to God if he does not fall. where the man who follows the letter will find it alot harder to do, and be proud of his accomplishment if he does not fall.

One learns that keeping the Law produces peace and harmony in the home and brings blessings as well as God's favor. You know, you've probably heard of it before, positive reinforcement.

Yep. heard of it. It has been proven in scripture for 2000 years to be a false form of religion, which never works. And 2000 years of church history that it never works. And in my lifetime that it never works. All it does is cost people a life with Christ (when they realise how impossible it is, so why bother) a pridefull self righteous attitudfe (when we think we are doing it, But do not realise how utterly sinfull we really are, because we focus on the few sins we think of) or causes us to hide our sin, because we do not want to be judged a failure by men.

All are negatives, and all are aspects of trying to follow the law. And not trying to learn who and what God is..

Which is why Paul said the law can only kill..

What works is getting to the heart of the matter.

So which one are you doing?

Are you looking at the commandments to keep and obey them,

Or are you looking at the pure, honest, true, lovely things thinking on those?

You mean to tell me that you can't help having thoughts of murder? That you have no control over the fleshly desires by the Spirit that dwells in you?

That's exactly what I am telling you. You can't help what thoughts come into your head.

But what you can do is turn your thoughts away from yourself and what is going on inside your head, and turn them to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is your ever-present, ever-ready Help.

He helped you once, in a grand fashion, I am guessing. Why would you turn from Him and rely on your own self after this? Or have you ever relied on Him?

False religion? Have no clue what your talking about. well, other then your false religion of works.

Your right, that is the heart of the matter. But if people do not see their need for him, they ARE not going to seek him. Instead they are going to do all they can to find what fills that deep dark void in their inner being. Through drug use, Sexual immorality, Alcohol, Coveting (buying things you don't need, but you think will make you happy) etc etc. Thats is why the world is the way it is. They have hardened their heart to the truth of their need for God to fill that void for them. for only he can do this. Why else do you think wealthy people who have everything the world thinks would make ANYONE happy commit suicide? Non of the things in the world can make us happy and fill that void!

What Does fill the void? GOD, through Christ. What happens when that void is filled? The seeking for anything and everything we THINK will make us happy goes away, and with it all the garbage that goes with it. The need for drugs and alcohol, Sexual stimulation anyway we can get it (apart from Gods way) and owning things which we do not need goes away. We start to have faith in God as we see him work in our lives and those around us, We learn to trust him, and doing this causes us to trust self less. Why? We realize our way does nothing but bring harm and pain to ourselves and those around us. Gods way brings joy and peace and a rest that surpasses all understanding.

It is not the law which makes us righteous. it is God working in and through us which makes us righteous. As we trust him in the law of FAITH!

The jews did not get this, they thought the law was the way. The church did not get it, They wanted to return to law and ceremony and tradition. And before I was saved, i did not get this, I did the same thing, plus all my sin, in a means to fill that void that only God can fill!
