well, i've been watching that trial on CNN.
i was neutral, even leaning toward Zimmerman being guilty of murder (premeditated or second degree).
but, at the end of the day...it looks as though the most they're going to get is manslaughter (which thanks to His Majesty Jeb Bush brings the same sentence as murder, since a gun was involved).
in reality, if the media hadn't stoked this into a hate crime (recall the Black Panthers were calling for the streets to run with blood)...it looks as though the self-defense plea would have been the verdict.

the evidence is pretty compelling for self defense.
i dunno.
i don't have a horse in the race, but i wish ppl would clue in to the never-ending plan for race wars in the US.

What's so scary is there have been multiple reports of whites being physically assaulted "in honor of tryvon".
Those assaulted are innocent and have nothing to do with the case.

I had the same reaction you did.
I've watched some of the trial. It's a jaw dropper.

I was in a cafe with a television and was watching Travon's life long friend was testifying. They said she was the last person
he spoke to before he died. The camera would scan his parents now and then and of course that was sad.

I was also listening to the people around me (I was alone, and I'm nosy) of course everyone had a different opinion. He was racial profiling he should get the death penalty. I heard others say he was defending himself. I don't think anyone is going to have the same opinion, but to say we should riot is horrible and irresponsible.

The only two people who know what really happened are the two involved. I do thing George Zimmerman was harassing him and playing vigilante. But I really don't know what punishment he should receive.

I can only answer this the best I can. Watch someone get mad at this, I'm sure. So somehow instead of attacking the negative stereotype of black people being hoodlums that is perpetrated in the media, we now attack people who have nothing to do with Trayvon. This is just another sign of doing "what is right in our own eyes". It is sickening. What should be attacked by Jaime Foxx are people who are not like Paula Deen, but the black culture and media that makes us look like minstrel shows. Rappers brag in their songs about their guns and strippers, yet when you say something about that it's being "intolerant". I consider that racism, as that is being pejorative to black people. It says that black people are nothing but ignorant thugs and promiscuous girls, not future upstanding citizens. Yet somehow that doesn't get attacked.

I am grieved by Trayvon all the way and hate how this came to be. Attacking his accused killer will not fix the problem. Not when we have music and entertainment perpetuating stereotypes that are absolutely destructive. Those must be torn down. That is to me is the tragedy with our culture.

he had legal concealed carry and was trained.

Yeah, Trayvon's family has nothing to do with these riots. Trayvon's family is just grieving the loss of their son. They don't even believe this was a racial "hate crime". Which leads me to my point. Since when is a hate crime only when it involves race? Anyone remember the Darrion Albert trial? I hardly remember seeing Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson up in arms about that case. The Chicago violence isn't what we are picketing and going after at the end of the day where kids are dying at the drop of a hat. But because this is a "hate crime" involving the races, this is heinous?

Another thing to also remember about Jaime Foxx is that this was said on BET. BET (Black Entertainment Television) is seriously the most obscene and corrupt television network in my eyes on television. At least it is right up there to be honest. BET & MTV both know they are spreading lies about people. These are also the network that allowed so many other inflammatory words that came from people like Rick James before he died and all. These 2 networks have been absolutely pushing things like promiscuity and profanity on people for generations. These networks with all their music videos okay people saying the N-word or calling girls "Hoe". (Sorry about the word if it's offensive here. I didn't mean for it to be used that way). Then they get mad at other races when they say it. Don't say it at all! My spiel on that.

So that is another add-on from my point. Once again, the black culture points the finger of the problem towards another instead of at ourselves. Yeah, racism is still prevalent especially in the South, but I have to admit that black people play into the racism by its negative portrayal of black men and women. It's only getting worse too. We are now having a record number in the black community of unwed mothers, teen mothers, AIDS, abortions. This is terrible here. Yet it goes silent with every music video played on BET.
