A Christian knows Jesus and Jesus knows Him.
Maybe first you have to confess your sins to the Lord himself and cry out to Him to save you.

Ronnie, how often do you read your Bible? The greatest words of wisdom can be found directly from God, so digging into the Bible would be a great start. Some of my favorite bits of wisdom are regarding love. In studying the life of Christ, and God himself, you will find that at the root of both is love. Satan has been waging a war against love for ages, and now days it seems that He is trying to replace the meaning of the word 'love' with an emptiness. If I could give you any simple, straightforward, words of wisdom I would encourage you to seek the true meaning of love; the only place you can find that is God, and the Bible is the best place to start.

1 John 4:8 - Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 -
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away

Love is.

Lightningclap0002 thanks that's the first scriptures recited to me that actually make sense. And lenardronaldo thank you to the first thing I did when I decided to embrace Christ and god was to repent my sins, but I do consider my self to have live a fairly sin free life well from 18 to my age now 28 . 16-18 I was mixed up in drugs so sinned alot during those two years.

What types of questions are you asking?
Some types of questions don't necessarily have like a clear yes no type answer.

Want to get closer to God? Read your Bible every single day and obey it!!! Nothing can replace the pure word of God. Not documentaries about the Bible, not books about the Bible, not devotionals, not preachers, not church attendance, nothing at all can replace reading the pure word of God for yourself. EVERYDAY. And obeying it. Those who obey get the Holy Spirit.

Acts 5:32 We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him."

Job 23:12
I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.

Don't go around judging everybody else's backyard, the Bible is to help you clean up your own :) Get in the word and read your heart out! And I would start with the New Testament, from Matthew through Revelation. God bless you!!

I understand how difficult it can be to get straight answers from a site were there are people from different backgrounds, different beliefs and faith's and religions. Hence why you never get any straight answers. But my advice is, ask the very God who created you personally. You will not get fake answers, or irrelevant answers, or derailments from God himself. Also people here are at different levels in there own Christian journey. So the best thing for you to do is to seek God himself for answer to your questions about the very God who created you.

Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be
opened to you.

James 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your
passions.

This is what God want us all to do. Confide in him, ask him. You are not going to ask a Plumber how to make a circuit board for a laptop are you? You going to ask the right person who will know 100%. Hence God with your questions. Pray, believe, thank, and then thank and praise him when you receive.

God bless. P.s I'm not saying not to listen to other people for there advice, you may not listen to me if it's your wish. I know there are those who you can listen to for good advice. But Best advice you can get, is straight from the horses mouth per say.
God.

Ronnie,

Do NOT expect to get consistent advice from a Christian Chat site. You need to find a good solid church with sounds doctrines with a reputable minister and go fellowship there. Speak to the pastor. Join a prayer group. Chat rooms such as this are overflowing with people who claim to be Christians but actually hardly even understand or apply the basics of Christianity. This is just not the place to get help such as you need. Also, get into those scriptures and dig deeply. Pray fervently while doing so. But get into a real church! This is NOT a church.

I wouldn't rule out directly that CC can't be a church. Church is simply the body of believers in Christ where He is the head of it.
So every fellowship or gathering or meeting of believers 'do have the potential' to become a church, no matter it has a building or not.

Agree with Shiloah.

You can get good advice here, but not good "consistent" advice.
There are many people here who are not Christians at all;
there are people here who are only here to troll and disrupt things;
there are people here who have only been Christians a short time;
there are people here who mean well, but have had little training in the scripture;
there are people here who are very studied in the scripture, but who disagree on things.

There are all different kinds of people here.

You can come here for prayer, and fellowship, and to make new friends, and maybe even to get some advice...
but advice across the board is not going to be consistent.

God Bless

First off, to receive a straight answer, you must ask a straight question.
What is your question?

By reading a couple of post..I believe you got some straight answer. Number one is definitely without a doubt, you need to find the right church home. I believe this is your biggest problem. You need to find a place that giving you sound doctrine, good worship environment, and loving church members. In the meantime, there are some good online ministries where you can watch videos/sermons for free. I would suggest Charles Stanley at intouchministries..This church has free video and audio archives. A lot of his sermon topics are somewhat centered around questions..so I think it would be good for you. If you are trying to get "closer" to God I suggest implementing fasting on a regular basis. Good Luck

You're not getting answers because many Christians think either spouting scripture mindlessly, using empty Christian cliches or always trying to be positive are valid responses. Few like to be honest and put any thought into their answers. Also, if your questions were based around your marriage problems, that only adds to the problem. This is a subject that comes up constantly on here and after a while people get tired of repeating the same responses in a new thread every few days.
