HOWEVER, is the question truly pertinent? Though the nation of Israel is God's chosen group for the lineage of Christ (obviously the greatest honor) they are by no means less human, less sinful, less prideful, or less unfaithful to God. If anything they are the chief of sinners for their rejection of Christ to the extent as it was.
