WASHINGTON (JTA) — Samantha Power, President Obama’s nominee to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, said she would press for Israel to have a rotation on the Security Council.

“The Security Council seat is one that has eluded Israel, despite its many contributions across the years, and I commit to you wholeheartedly to go on offense,” Power told Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, during her confirmation hearing on July 17

Cass Robert Sunstein[1] (born September 21, 1954) is a US legal scholar, particularly in the fields of constitutional law, administrative law, environmental law, and law and behavioural economics, who was the Administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in the Obama administration.[2] For 27 years, Sunstein taught at the University of Chicago Law School.[3] Sunstein is currently the Robert Walmsley University Professor[4] and Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law at Harvard Law School.

Marriage
In a recent book, Sunstein proposes that government recognition of marriage be discontinued. "Under our proposal, the word marriage would no longer appear in any laws, and marriage licenses would no longer be offered or recognized by any level of government," argues Sunstein. He continues, "the only legal status states would confer on couples would be a civil union, which would be a domestic partnership agreement between any two people." He goes on further, "Governments would not be asked to endorse any particular relationships by conferring on them the term marriage," and refers to state-recognized marriage as an "official license scheme."[18] Sunstein addressed the Senate on 11 July 1996 advising against the Defense of Marriage Act.[27] Cass Sunstein was married to Samantha Power in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Ring of Kerry, Ireland on July 4th 2008.

Conspiracy Theories" and government infiltration
Sunstein co-authored a 2008 paper with Adrian Vermeule, titled "Conspiracy Theories," dealing with the risks and possible government responses to false conspiracy theories resulting from "cascades" of faulty information within groups that may ultimately lead to violence.

In this article they wrote, "The existence of both domestic and foreign conspiracy theories, we suggest, is no trivial matter, posing real risks to the government’s antiterrorism policies, whatever the latter may be."

They go on to propose that, "the best response consists in cognitive infiltration of extremist groups",[28] where they suggest, among other tactics, "Government agents (and their allies) might enter chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups and attempt to undermine percolating conspiracy theories by raising doubts about their factual premises, causal logic or implications for political action."[28]

They refer, several times, to groups that promote the view that the US Government was responsible or complicit in the September 11 attacks as "extremist groups." They also suggest responses: "We can readily imagine a series of possible responses.

(1) Government might ban conspiracy theorizing.

(2) Government might impose some kind of tax, financial or otherwise, on those who disseminate such theories."

Conspiracy Theories

Abstract:
Many millions of people hold conspiracy theories; they believe that powerful people have worked together in order to withhold the truth about some important practice or some terrible event. A recent example is the belief, widespread in some parts of the world, that the attacks of 9/11 were carried out not by Al Qaeda, but by Israel or the United States.

The first challenge is to understand the mechanisms by which conspiracy theories prosper; the second challenge is to understand how such theories might be undermined.

um.....is the following a conspiracy?

They go on to propose that, "the best response consists in cognitive infiltration of extremist groups",[28] where they suggest, among other tactics, "Government agents (and their allies) might enter chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups and attempt to undermine percolating conspiracy theories by raising doubts about their factual premises, causal logic or implications for political action."[28]

Talmudics have all this power but they haven't been able to grab one of the musical chairs in the entire existence of the UN?

Security Council, dude.

The Five permanent members: China, France, Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, and the United States

10 others "rotate".

Israel will eventually end up on the permanent council.

why i do not know since it refuses to abide by ANY resolutions.
including declaring it's borders; admitting it has nukes (thereby just nixing the NNPT)

they haven't needed nor wanted to join (reasons stated above) - it would have to abide by the *cough* rules of the private Corporation - The United Nations.

there's been nothing from the UN for Israel but appeasement for everything they want to do.

but....the times they are a changin'...it's time to take the reins.

just imagine what an Israeli VETO means.

like...seriously bud. s'not hard.
take a look at America....ya think it's yours? LOL

Israel is above all nations at the UN, immune to accountability.

who owns the UN?

The name "United Nations", coined by United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt:rolleyes: was first used in the Declaration by United Nations of 1 January 1942, during the Second World War, when representatives of 26 nations pledged their Governments to continue fighting together against the Axis Powers.

States first established international organizations to cooperate on specific matters. The International Telecommunication Union was founded in 1865 as the International Telegraph Union, and the Universal Postal Union was established in 1874. Both are now United Nations specialized agencies.

In 1899, the International Peace Conference was held in The Hague to elaborate instruments for settling crises peacefully, preventing wars and codifying rules of warfare. It adopted the Convention for the Pacific Settlement of International Disputes and established the Permanent Court of Arbitration, which began work in 1902.

The forerunner of the United Nations was the League of Nations, an organization conceived in similar circumstances during the first World War, and established in 1919 under the Treaty of Versailles "to promote international cooperation and to achieve peace and security." The International Labour Organization was also created under the Treaty of Versailles as an affiliated agency of the League. The League of Nations ceased its activities after failing to prevent the Second World War.

The UN Charter, opened to the signature page, at the San Francisco Conference in 1945.

In 1945, representatives of 50 countries met in San Francisco at the United Nations Conference on International Organization to draw up the United Nations Charter. Those delegates deliberated on the basis of proposals worked out by the representatives of China, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom and the United States at Dumbarton Oaks, United States in August-October 1944. The Charter was signed on 26 June 1945 by the representatives of the 50 countries. Poland, which was not represented at the Conference, signed it later and became one of the original 51 Member States.

The United Nations officially came into existence on 24 October 1945, when the Charter had been ratified by China, France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, the United States and by a majority of other signatories. United Nations Day is celebrated on 24 October each year.

has the United Nations stopped a single war? EVER?

of course not.

that's where they PLAN them.

this lovely gift to the UN - from the Soviet Union - as the blood was running there.
and the founders of Communist Russia (ahem) were taking over here.
just like they said they would.

Swords to ploughshares (or swords to plowshares) is a concept in which military weapons or technologies are converted for peaceful civilian applications.

The phrase originates from the Book of Isaiah:
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. — Isaiah 2:3-4

now, Still....as an amil or post mil (non-dispy)...you understand what Isaiah 2 is about.
however, we have some who do not, and are busy with Tikkun Olam or it's counterpart.

a-a-a-a-a-and, just cuz i get a kick out of reading this again:rolleyes::

28 Tevet, 5768 / January 6, 2008

In the Name of the Lord, Eternal God

To The Honorable Mr. George W. Bush,
President of the United States of America,

Who comes seeking the presence of the Most High God, to Jerusalem, city of God, Divinely chosen site of the Holy Temple, eternal capital of our land, "the joy of the entire earth (Psalms 48:3)," may it be rebuilt and established speedily and in our days, Amen!

Esteemed Mr. George W. Bush, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal (Ezekiel 38:1), leader of the west!

Upon your arrival in Jerusalem you have the ability to make a declaration, as did Cyrus, King of Persia - whose memory is honored - who in the year 538 BCE returned the exiled nations to their lands and recognized the full right of the Jewish people to reestablish their Holy Temple, the "house of prayer for all nations" (Isaiah 56:7), and called upon them to return to their land,

And in the manner of Lord James Balfour of England, who in 1917, called upon the Jews to reestablish a national homeland in the Land of Israel.

And thus if you truly desire peace and benevolence, and you would be counted in the company of the truly righteous, we call upon you to declare to all the world:

The Land of Israel was bequeathed to the nation of Israel by the Creator of the world. Neither could I, as a son of my faith, nor the Muslims according to their faith, ever take away even the slightest grain from the Eternal's gift, which He gave to His people Israel, the eternal people. Thus I call upon all the nations to save themselves from certain doom, to return and recognize That this land is the exclusive rightful inheritance of the people of Israel, as is written in the Torah of Israel, which constitutes the very foundation of our faith, as well as that of Islam; and is the basis for the decisions of the community of nations. He who denies this truth endangers all life on earth.

I shall dedicate all my strength and resources towards settling the Jewish people throughout their entire land. I shall greatly encourage and empower the Jews all over the world to rise up to the Land of Israel and to settle it, to establish God's sanctuary in Jerusalem, to distance strangers from it and thus, I believe, I will be making a major contribution towards world peace.

I cannot simultaneously support the establishment of a foreign state for an alien nation in the Land of Israel, and I will not lend my hand to this wrong.

Or - Heaven forbid - you can choose the second option - to willfully aid in the destruction, under the guise of peace!

You certainly know what the God of Israel did to Egypt and Assyria and to all Israel's enemies from time immemorial: Do you imagine that you will be able to save yourself if you have come to implement a plan that intends to steal the land of "the people that survived the sword" (Jeremiah 31:1), and to cut off those who survived the Holocaust, to rob the land that was given to them by the Creator?

All of the peace treaties and initiatives which have been based upon the decisions of the government of Israel, indeed the entire Oslo process, and the 'Disengagement,' and the establishment of a terrorist state within the Land of Israel known as 'Palestine' - regrettably, all of these agreements are the result of a lack of sufficient faith in the Divine promises that the Lord made to the patriarchs of our nation, and all that is written in the Torah of Israel. Understand this well: the nations of the world cannot excuse their actions and their decisions on account of the weakness of Israel and her government. God ordained that the role of the nations of the world is to strengthen the nation of Israel. This will benefit all humanity and bring about world peace, as the prophets have foretold.

Do you imagine you can escape from the struggles in Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Egypt, and Lebanon, by offering up sacrifices of the Jews who are slaughtered daily by their enemies who speak of peace but live by the sword?

Upon your arrival in our land we would anticipate that you bring Jonathan Pollard home with you. Bring him home to Israel. He is an emissary of the State of Israel, and he acted on behalf of our people. Authorize his immediate release while you are yet in Jerusalem, before you return to the United States. This will be a positive step that will build confidence.

Remember our forefather Abraham, who pursued the world's four greatest kings in order to redeem his nephew from captivity. We cannot forget the deeds of our patriarchs, whose example guides us through every generation.

We are the loyal representatives of the Jewish people, the New Jewish Congress, and its court of law, the Sanhedrin, as well as the Temple and Temple Mount movements, but we merely reiterate herein what is public knowledge.

No government in Israel and no representative of the Jewish people has the power or right to alter, by even the slightest degree, our covenant with God and the words of our holy Torah, which are everlasting, as expressed by the prophets of Israel and even by the wicked prophet Balaam: "Then he looked on Amalek, and uttered his oracle, saying: 'First among the nations was Amalek, but its end is to perish for ever' (Numbers 24:20). Thus any desire, plan or agreement that challenges the eternal sovereignty and active possession of the nation of Israel over her entire land is utterly worthless, and has no basis in reality.

Therefore it behooves you to declare: "I, George Bush, Commander in Chief of the armies of the United States of America, will instruct all of my troops to protect the Divine rights of the nation of Israel, and remove from her any threat."

Before you is a choice: You can merit to eternal life, or be inscribed for eternal disgrace. Your fate and that of all those with you hangs in the balance of the destiny of our land.

"and you shall choose life!" (Deut. 30:19).

okay.

Israel is above all nations at the UN, immune to accountability.

who owns the UN?
But if they're above it, why is getting a seat on it of any concern, seein they already run the show?

samantha power is actually pretty well known to be strongly anti israel...

of course she knows she would never be able to get confirmed by the senate if she actually admitted to her previous history of anti israel views...after all hagel was just barely confirmed as defense secretary and power is much more strongly anti israel than him...

her sudden extravagant support for israel...a change of heart that conveniently happened just in time for her confirmation hearings...is an obvious ploy to keep her previous history of hostility towards one of our allies from completely disqualifying her...

also samantha power subscribes to a number of conspiracy theories herself...

this is all basically a case of a politician who 'doth protest too much' because she doesn't want to be exposed as a crackpot...

she has to have a fake change of heart and be extravagently FOR Israel to be confirmed?

again...thanks for doing the work.

just put the pieces together and you'll make it.
post all you want on Power.

i got a few things too.
we can see whether she's an antisemite tricking AIPAC or not.

israel is an ally of the united states...obviously a bias against one of our allies should be a disqualifying offense for someone seeking an important defense or foreign policy position... so this has nothing to do with any 'powerful israel lobby'...a theory that samantha powers subscribes to by the way...

here is some stuff about samantha power...obviously you are -way- off about her being '100% for israel'...

"Power has a long record of antipathy towards Israel. In 2001 she attended the United Nations' World Conference Against Racism (in Durban, South Africa), even after the U.S. had withdrawn most of its diplomatic participation once it became apparent that the gathering would give prominence to anti-American, anti-Israel, and anti-Semitic perspectives."

"Just months later, during a 2002 interview with Harry Kreisler, director of the Institute for International Studies at UC Berkeley, Power said that even if it meant 'alienating a domestic constituency of tremendous political and financial import' (i.e., Jewish Americans), the United States should stop investing 'billions of dollars' in 'servicing Israel’s military' and invest the money instead 'in the new state of Palestine.' Moreover, she accused Israel of perpetrating 'major human-rights abuses' and 'war crimes.'"

"In a 2007 interview, Power said that America’s relationship with Israel 'has often led foreign policy decision-makers to defer reflexively to Israeli security assessments, and to replicate Israeli tactics which ... can turn out to be counter-productive.' The United States, she explained, had brought terrorist attacks upon itself by aping Israel’s violations of human rights. More than once, in fact, Power has implied that Israel played a role in the Bush administration’s decision to invade Iraq in 2003. The author and retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Peters writes, 'I know of no instance when Power has vigorously defended Jews or Christians murdered or driven from their homes by the Arabs she wants to "save."'"

"In January 2008, Power wrote a Time magazine column (titled 'Rethinking Iran'), belittling concerns about Iran’s nuclear program, characterizing that program as a figment of George W. Bush’s imagination, and emphasizing the need to engage diplomatically with the Iranian mullahs. Wrote Powers: 'The war scare that wasn’t [a then-recent incident between Iranian speedboats and the U.S. Navy in the Straight of Hormuz] stands as a metaphor for the incoherence of our policy toward Iran: the Bush Administration attempts to gin up international outrage by making a claim of imminent danger, only to be met with international eye rolling when the claim is disproved. Sound familiar? The speedboat episode bore an uncanny resemblance to the Administration’s allegations about the advanced state of Iran’s weapons program -- allegations refuted in December by the National Intelligence Estimate.'"

israel is an ally of the united states...

is it?
rubbish.
israel is an enemy of the united states.

obviously a bias against one of our allies should be a disqualifying offense for someone seeking an important defense or foreign policy position...

criticizing Israel's policies and illegal lobbying shouldnt be a disqualifying OFFENSE FOR ANYTHING or anyone.
land of the free and home of the brave, huh?

oh yeah..i see it.

so this has nothing to do with any 'powerful israel lobby'...a theory that samantha powers subscribes to by the way...

'powerful israel lobby'. in quotes no less.

oh look. they talked it over and decided he wasn't a NAZI because he said the 'pro-Israel lobby has a powerful voice'.

isn't that GREAT?
an American gets to voice his opinion about what goes on inhis own country.

without being branded a nazi jew-hater (barely)

you know, his language needs some POLISH, but hey! we say he's okay:

Chuck Hagel 'not antisemitic for saying pro-Israel lobby has a powerful voice'

Ex-adviser Aaron David Miller says Hagel's language could do with a polish but that he is voicing a truth others will not confront

Chris McGreal

guardian.co.uk, Monday 7 January 2013 21.39 GMT

Hagel was criticised for claiming that the 'Jewish lobby intimidates a lot of people.'

does AIPAC intimidate a lot of ppl rachel?
the answer is yes.
don't bother responding with any other answer - it would be lying.

The author of a book that quotes Chuck Hagel criticising the influence of the pro-Israel lobby in Washington has defended him from charges of antisemitism, and said the president's nominee for defence secretary was speaking a truth many other politicians will not voice.

defending him?
from CHARGES of antisemitisim?
who is he being defended from?
who is making such an accusation?
why is he being charged with such an inflammatory label?
because he told the truth (course, he needs to say it NICER).

Aaron David Miller, who served six US secretaries of state as an adviser on Arab-Israeli negotiations, told the Guardian that Hagel's use of the term "Jewish lobby" to describe pressure groups was mistaken, because active support for Israel is much wider in the US than the country's Jewish population.

ack.
ya...xtian zionist fanatics i reckon.

But he said that Hagel was describing "a fact" when he spoke about the considerable influence of the lobby on Congress in an interview the then senator gave in 2006 for Miller's book, The Much Too Promised Land..

oh....so the jews get to set the parameters of discourse.

"considerable influence of the lobby on Congress"

hey....didn't miller just say that wasn't true?

Critics have been agitating against Hagel for weeks, focusing on his statements about Israel, including to Miller about why as a senator he declined to sign many of the letters of support for Israel distributed by the influential lobby group, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (Aipac), on Capitol Hill – including one giving unconditional support to Israel when the second Palestinian uprising erupted in 2000.

1984 and nothing less. i dont do double speak.

ya.
how DARE you not give UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT TO ISRAEL.

how DARE you.
who cares if youre broke; if israel spies on you; if your men die in her wars; if she robs you blind.

"The political reality is that … the Jewish lobby intimidates a lot of people up here," he said.

GASP!

hand-wringing! wailing! it's Hitler all over again!

just LOOK what this AMERICAN had the nerve to say:

the Jewish lobby intimidates a lot of people up here

oops.....time to go before the ADL and all the others for senstitivity training or whatever other crow and garbage your politicians are forced to eat before they are approved. - kosher.

whatever - it's your country....er....no...it isn't.

but...WAIT FOR IT -

Hagel later apologised for the use of the term "Jewish lobby", saying he should have said "pro-Israel lobby",

oh course he apologized.

if you are willing to play that game, have at it.

tell me -

1) there is an Ìsrael Lobby
2) for a self-proclaimed Jewish State
3) which influences american policy to her detriment.

various op eds and news pieces from the Jewish state:

Because our Jewish state needs no American affirmation of our right to exist.
"Politicide: The attempted murder of the Jewish state
Livni: 'Jewish State' Second to Democracy
After 65 years, the Knesset will consider a law to officially designation Israel as a Jewish State
Op-Ed: Israel Doesn’t Need Anyone’s Recognition - except unconditional support from America..and in the right tone of voice with exactly the right terms. or else.
Haaretz: Russia's refusal to refer to Israel as a "Jewish state" leads to failure of Quartet meeting

- what - Jewish State but NOT a Jewish Lobby for that State.
okay
sure

an issue of particular sensitivity because it touches on antisemitic tropes about Jewish control, but also because it is inaccurate, given the wider support for Israel among Americans, notably Christian evangelicals.

ya....those people.
xtian zionists.

why does she keeping saying it.

The speedboat episode bore an uncanny resemblance to the Administration’s allegations about the advanced state of Iran’s weapons program -- allegations refuted in December by the National Intelligence Estimate.'"

For Samantha Power, Support for Israel Is Deeply Personal — and Proven
U.N. Envoy Wins Over Jewish Community With Track Record

Published June 15, 2013, issue of June 21, 2013.

During a White House meeting with Israeli officials in 2009, Samantha Power, like any other proud mother, pulled out a photo of her infant son. In speaking to the admiring crowd, she added a surprising detail: Her son, she said, is a descendant, from his father’s side, of the Vilna Gaon, Rabbi Eliyahu ben Shlomo Zalman Kremer, the 18th-century Jewish sage who is considered the greatest talmudic scholar of his time.

This impressive lineage — a product of Power’s marriage to prominent law professor Cass Sunstein — offers some insight into Power’s personal sense of connection to Jews. But it is not the key to understanding her strong backing within the Jewish and pro-Israel communities, despite past statements that have been seen as:rolleyes: critical of Israel and of the American lobby that backs it.

Power, who was recently chosen by President Obama to serve as the next ambassador to the United Nations, has made inroads to the community, thanks to her hands-on work in support of Israel at the United Nations and at other international forums.

“Her starting point has always been, ‘How do we work together to overcome obstacles and to ensure that both the United States and Israel get out of these U.N. situations with the least damage?” said Dan Arbel, who served as deputy chief of mission at the Israeli Embassy in Washington. Arbel described his work experience with Power as “very collegial, friendly and frank.”

is it?
rubbish.
israel is an enemy of the united states.

criticizing Israel's policies and illegal lobbying shouldnt be a disqualifying OFFENSE FOR ANYTHING or anyone.
land of the free and home of the brave, huh?

oh yeah..i see it.

'powerful israel lobby'. in quotes no less.

oh look. they talked it over and decided he wasn't a NAZI because he said the 'pro-Israel lobby has a powerful voice'.

isn't that GREAT?
an American gets to voice his opinion about what goes on inhis own country.

without being branded a nazi jew-hater (barely)

you know, his language needs some POLISH, but hey! we say he's okay:

does AIPAC intimidate a lot of ppl rachel?
the answer is yes.
don't bother responding with any other answer - it would be lying.

defending him?
from CHARGES of antisemitisim?
who is he being defended from?
who is making such an accusation?
why is he being charged with such an inflammatory label?
because he told the truth (course, he needs to say it NICER).

ack.
ya...xtian zionist fanatics i reckon.

oh....so the jews get to set the parameters of discourse.

"considerable influence of the lobby on Congress"

hey....didn't miller just say that wasn't true?

1984 and nothing less. i dont do double speak.

ya.
how DARE you not give UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT TO ISRAEL.

how DARE you.
who cares if youre broke; if israel spies on you; if your men die in her wars; if she robs you blind.

GASP!

hand-wringing! wailing! it's Hitler all over again!

just LOOK what this AMERICAN had the nerve to say:

the Jewish lobby intimidates a lot of people up here

oops.....time to go before the ADL and all the others for senstitivity training or whatever other crow and garbage your politicians are forced to eat before they are approved. - kosher.

whatever - it's your country....er....no...it isn't.

but...WAIT FOR IT -

oh course he apologized.

if you are willing to play that game, have at it.

- what - Jewish State but NOT a Jewish Lobby for that State.
okay
sure

ya....those people.
xtian zionists.

if you want to claim israel is an enemy of the united states then i am sure you can support that by posting some congressional declaration of hostility...right?

because i can list numerous congressional bills from just the past few years that show that the united states and israel are allies...such as this one...

"H.RES.813 : Expressing vigorous support and unwavering commitment to the welfare, security, and survival of the State of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state with secure borders, and recognizing and strongly supporting its right to act in self-defense to protect its citizens against acts of terrorism."

get your facts straight...

defense secretaries and united nations ambassadors have a -job- and part of that job is getting along with our allies...if you can't do that...then you aren't fit for the job...which is why israel bashing is such a cause for concern regarding those nominated to these positions...

also if the 'israel lobby' is so powerful then why are pro israel lobbying groups some of the most widely criticized? here we go with the alex jones paradox again...'the israel lobby is so influential that nobody can talk about them being influential'

OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.......she attended an anti-racism conference after racist israel and her big dog america (under the AIPAC leash pulled out).

God forbid.

can you imagine.

i bet she has a swastika tattoo.

MIND YOU - MAYBE SHE WILL REMAIN TRUE TO THOSE (fake) CONVICTIONS...LET`S FIND OUT.......

Zone, what the heck is wrong with you? There is really something sick about your constant Israel bashing, and your dumb theory that the jews in Israel aren't really jews. We KNOW that the jews there are not believers in their own Messiah, Jesus Christ, and we also know that they will accept the anti-christ as their messiah, BUT a remnant WILL believe and look on Him whom they pierced. You are really playing with fire by constantly bashing them. Why aren't you just content on letting the Lord deal with them?

i never said samantha power was an antisemite or a 'jew hater'...i said that she was strongly anti israel...you really have taken to blatantly -lying- lately...

i think your postmodernist frankfurt school conspiracism has finally eroded any respect you once had for truth...

what i have shown is that samantha power has an axe to grind with one of the united states' allies...and that she is now trying to make up for that with desperate and extravagant statements in order to avoid her being disqualified by the suspicion that she may be unable to do her job due to a hostile attitude towards an ally...

you could read this book if you care to - as you know written by Jews, so take it up with them:

The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy[1] is a book by John Mearsheimer, Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago, and Stephen Walt, Professor of International Relations at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, published in late August 2007. It was a New York Times Best Seller.[2]

The book describes the lobby as a "loose coalition of individuals and organizations who actively work to steer U.S. foreign policy in a pro-Israel direction".[3] The book "focuses primarily on the lobby's influence on U.S. foreign policy and its negative effect on American interests".[4] The authors also argue that "the lobby's impact has been unintentionally harmful to Israel as well".[5]

The authors argue that although "the boundaries of the Israel lobby cannot be identified precisely", it "has a core consisting of organizations whose declared purpose is to encourage the U.S. government and the American public to provide material aid to Israel and to support its government's policies, as well as influential individuals for whom these goals are also a top priority".[6] They note that "not..every American with a favorable attitude to Israel is part of the lobby",[6] and that although "the bulk of the lobby is comprised of Jewish Americans",[7] there are many American Jews who are not part of the lobby, and the lobby also includes Christian Zionists.[8] They also claim a drift of important groups in "the lobby" to the right,[9] and overlap with the neoconservatives.[10]

Mearsheimer and Walt argue that "No lobby has managed to divert U.S. foreign policy as far from what the American national interest would otherwise suggest, while simultaneously convincing Americans that U.S. and Israeli interests are essentially identical".[25]

They argue that "in its basic operations, it is no different from interest groups like the Farm Lobby, steel and textile workers, and other ethnic lobbies. What sets the Israel Lobby apart is its extraordinary effectiveness."

According to Mearsheimer and Walt, the "loose coalition" that makes up the Lobby has "significant leverage over the Executive branch", as well as the ability to make sure that the "Lobby's perspective on Israel is widely reflected in the mainstream media."

They claim that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in particular has a "stranglehold on the U.S. Congress", due to its "ability to reward legislators and congressional candidates who support its agenda, and to punish those who challenge it."

Former US Congressman Howard Berman Joins Lobbying Firm
Published on 27 March 2013 @ 6:21 pm

Former United States Congressman Howard Berman, a California Democrat regarded as a strong proponent of intellectual property rights protection, has joined law firm Covington & Burling LLP’s global public policy and government affairs practice.

According to the announcement from Covington & Burling, Berman will join former US Senator Jon Kyl, an Arizona Republican, in the law firm’s Washington DC office, which includes former US Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff; Stu Eizenstat, who served in three American presidential administrations in roles that included ambassador to the European Union; and former Deputy US Trade Representative John Veroneau. He will also work with the law firm’s public policy practice in Brussels.

guess who else is a 'partner in that LOBBYING FIRM:

John Bolton is currently a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI),[6] frequent op-ed contributor to the Wall Street Journal and the National Review, Fox News Channel commentator, and of counsel to the law firm Kirkland & Ellis, in their Washington D.C. office.[7] He was a foreign policy adviser to 2012 presidential candidate Mitt Romney.[8] He is also involved with a broad assortment of other conservative think tanks and policy institutes, including the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA), Project for the New American Century (PNAC), AEI, Institute of East-West Dynamics, National Rifle Association, U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, and the Council for National Policy (CNP). Known for his strong views on foreign policy, often equating diplomacy with weakness and indecisiveness,[9] Bolton is often described as a neoconservative,[10][11][12] though he personally rejects the term.[13]

Bolton has been a prominent participant in some "neoconservative" groups such as the Project for the New American Century (PNAC), the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA), and the Committee for Peace and Security in the Gulf (CPSG). But Bolton disputes the label "neo-conservative" attached to him,[10] pointing out that he was a conservative since high school, when he worked on the 1964 Goldwater campaign.[34]

Bolton was formerly involved with the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), Federalist Society, National Policy Forum, National Advisory Board, Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, New Atlantic Initiative, Project on Transitional Democracies.

israel is an enemy of the united states.

Mearsheimer and Walt decry what they call misuse of "the charge of anti-Semitism", and argue that pro-Israel groups place great importance on "controlling debate" in American academia; they maintain, however, that the Lobby has yet to succeed in its "campaign to eliminate criticism of Israel from college campuses" (see Campus Watch and U.S. Congress Bill H.R. 509). The authors conclude by arguing that when the Lobby succeeds in shaping U.S. policy in the Middle East, then "Israel's enemies get weakened or overthrown, Israel gets a free hand with the Palestinians, and the United States does most of the fighting, dying, rebuilding, and paying."[24]

also if the 'israel lobby' is so powerful then why are pro israel lobbying groups some of the most widely criticized?

Yes, all criticism of Israel is anti-Semitic!

By BENJAMIN KERSTEIN

05/20/2012 22:31

That is to say, the historical circumstances under which Israel and the Jews exist in the world today render any non anti-Semitic criticism of Israel impossible. A protester calling for a boycott of Israel

‘But surely you don’t believe,” they always ask you, “that all criticism of Israel is anti-Semitic?” It is a noticeably patronizing question, of course, in that it is obviously an admonition that all civilized, thinking people must answer “no” or “of course not.” It is an important question, however, because of its real answer, which is unequivocally and unquestionably “yes.”

The idea that all criticism of Israel is anti-Semitic horrifies some, offends and mortifies others, and terrifies still more. The usual reaction to it is something along the lines of “how can you say that?!” Nonetheless, it is exactly what I am saying in regard to Israel and its critics.

I do not speak, however, of intentional or conscious anti-Semitism (though it is a major factor), nor of inadvertent or ignorant anti-Semitism (though this also plays a mighty role). All criticism of Israel is not anti-Semitic because of hate, or prejudice, or malice, or stupidity, or indeed any of those very human vices so often regarded as the devil’s work by upper-middle-class liberals.

All criticism of Israel is anti-Semitic because of the specific historical circumstances under which we currently live. That is to say, the historical circumstances under which Israel and the Jews exist in the world today render any non-anti-Semitic criticism of Israel impossible. And, ironically, these are circumstances that Israel’s opponents have themselves created.

To hold that this is not the case requires acting – and demanding that others act – as if these circumstances do not exist, even as they sit as patiently as a pachyderm in the parlor waiting for us to notice them and, sometimes, when our self-willed ignorance grows too infuriating, murder our children and set off bombs in our streets.

Nonetheless, these circumstances are not complex, nor are they numerous. They are simply these: A large portion of the world, West and East, has come to believe that Arabs and Muslims have earned the right to murder Jews.

Derived from this right, they have also come to believe that the destruction dismantling, and erasure of the State of Israel, and the slaughter, expulsion, and/or perpetual subjugation of its Jewish population are entirely legitimate and indeed desirable.

The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy < [AIPAC among hundreds of other NGOs and fronts]

The book describes the lobby as a "loose coalition of individuals and organizations who actively work to steer U.S. foreign policy in a pro-Israel direction".[3] The book "focuses primarily on the lobby's influence on U.S. foreign policy and its negative effect on American interests".[4]

Mearsheimer and Walt argue that "No lobby has managed to divert U.S. foreign policy as far from what the American national interest would otherwise suggest, while simultaneously convincing Americans that U.S. and Israeli interests are essentially identical".[25]

Mearsheimer and Walt decry what they call misuse of "the charge of anti-Semitism", and argue that pro-Israel groups place great importance on "controlling debate" in American academia;

The March 2006 publication of Mearsheimer and Walt's essay, "The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy", was highly controversial. The essay's central controversial claim was that the Israel lobby's influence has distorted U.S. Middle East foreign policy away from what the authors referred to as "American national interest."

Alan Dershowitz opined that criticizing the Israel lobby promoted a charged debate about what constitutes antisemitic conspiracy theorizing;[32]

Former U.S. Ambassador Edward Peck wrote that "The expected tsunami of rabid responses condemned the report, vilified its authors, and denied there is such a lobbyvalidating both the lobby's existence and aggressive, pervasive presence and obliging Harvard to remove its name."
