Could this attitude make a person feel like a very serious issue to them is being ignored by a parent?

A first comment of "I'm a girl" may be just a random comment with no intended meaning from the speaker as to a serious comment, though i'd be really careful with this as even one comment like this could be a persons way of opening up to you and seeing what your reaction to the comment is and they may never talk to you about it again even though they are in fact dealing with something. The article seems to suggest it takes a different turn then the comment though, to the point where the child was actually becoming upset about people referring to him as a boy. I love children but so many parents are bringing theirs up to be self-entitled little brats. This isn't good for the parents and it certainly isn't good the the child(ren). They need loving discipline to correct them from harming themselves and others and doing stupid things.

Some of us may have never heard of "grabbing the 2x4" to discipline a child. Pardon me for jumping to a conclusion. Although, maybe you should have stated in your reply to me that it was only a figure of speech. You only defended your logic of grabbing the 2x4 so in my mind you confirmed that you thought beating a child with a 2x4 was okay. I still disagree that spanking a child for this is okay.

I have issue with the public school telling children to treat a male like a female. What this does is it pushes kids, who are innocent of understanding long-term consequences of choices. It urges children to normalize what is not biblically acceptable.
Where will the boy go to use the restroom, now? The little girls' room, or the boys'? This was a pain to deal with at my last job. People who cross-dressed would try to use the restroom in the women's bathroom. Not cool.

I realize that people are wired different and that early life situations can flip the cognitive switch in a different-than-others way. But the story refers to a five year old, not a teenager, who just decided. Regardless, who calls the shots, the child, therapist, the school, or the parents? The parents are wrong, clearly. The authorities, after the parents, are to blame for not coaching the child in the right direction. Even if the child eventually chooses his own way, at least the parents could rest knowing that they tried, rather than just cave. And did you read about children being given hormone thwarting drugs-- to change the his sex?
Ok, science is good in making things possible. I am amazed at this! But just because we can does not mean we ought.

I said I was gay meaning I am attracted to the same sex. I really don't see your point in addressing my being gay at all in this thread. The Bible does not say transgender but Jesus did say there are those who are born eunuchs. Which does include intersexed people.

In case you missed it, which apparently you did, I mentioned my being gay because I said I grew up in a great Christian home. I was using myself as an example to say that no matter how Christian someones parents are the person could still end up becoming something seen as unfit by their parents. The exact opposite is true as well. You know though I really am tired of people questioning my relationship with God and whether or not I am a Christian. I'm tired of it and if you don't want me to call myself a Christian then I won't. I changed my profile to say not Christian. Although, I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to keep this account. I hope you and everyone else will be happy. I will just burn in Hell to appease everyone. That's clearly what everyone wants. I am so sorry for trying to be a Christian. If people really wanted me to find God then how about they stop automatically saying I am having sex outside of marriage. I'm starting to feel anytime I use the words I'm gay that I need to quickly add that I am a virgin. Seriously, though what business is it of anyone on here if I have been with a guy? That is between God, that guy, and me. No one on here needs to get that personal with me.

What path am I on? Is anyone here even reading what I am saying or are ya'll just picking out certain things. I have never been with a man. I have never been with a woman. I have never kissed either gender. If my being attracted to guys, something I can not control, is my being on the wrong path then I really don't think anyone here is on the right path. If you can control who you are and are not attracted to then please share the secret. I know I am not the only one who wishes to control this. Please don't say prayer either because I have prayed and I know others in my position who have prayed and yet we still find ourselves with these attractions. We still find ourselves being accused of being sex-crazed homos just for saying "I'm gay."

There was never any harm done. I never gave it a 2nd thought I was just responding. But there was never any reason to say sorry really.
