The entire ministry of Jesus was under the Mosaic Law, defining the truth to the individual, when at Mount Sinai, the law was given to the nation of Israel. The New Testament took effect with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

Great post! The Gospels are indeed doctrinally in the Old Testament while they are in a collection of books called the New Testament. It was not until the death of Jesus that the New Testament was brought in. Now Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are Biblical records of Biblical History, but again they are doctrinally in the Old Testament under the Mosaic Law. After the crucifixion; the death of Jesus (who is the testator), was when the New Testament doctrinally came in. In that it came into effect.


15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

It's amazing to me that the verses that Paul wrote about running the race, and fighting the good fight, etc....

Paul was addressing believers! Not only in those passages, but he address believers with a list of sins that will not enter into the KINGDOM. Not sure why so many are willing to ignore those verses.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
1 Corinthians 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

The perfect LAW of LIBERTY, isn't about being at liberty to sin, but being FREED from sin.

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

I like that "law of liberty" thing. Once we were under the law. We had to look up to Jesus. He lifted us up, and now we are over the law, and we can see it from His vantage point. It's a pretty site. Being over the law and seeing it clearly IS the law of liberty! Thank you sister thank you!!!!

I may not be posting a lot, but I am reading the posts. Thank you all for the posts. I am gaining some very thought provoking insights on not only of God's wisdom in interwovening His word, but how it has all been foreordained throughout the ages.

This scripture was quoted to Herod by the wise men seeking Jesus. Don't ever let anybody tell you that the Gentiles never had the writings of Moses and the prophets. They did, through the tribes captured and dispersed throughout the nations after being captured by the Assyrian Empire.
