And here we disagree, my friend...

Deu 5:29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

And this was the One who became Jesus Christ saying this.
Don't you understand that the Law represents Jesus? The only one who can keep it perfectly?

The Law of God is as sacred as Himself! It is a revelation of His will. A transcript of His character. The expression of Divine love and wisdom. The harmony of creation depends on the perfect conformity of all beings, of everything animate and inanimate, to the law of the Creator. God has ordained laws for the government, not only for living beings, but of all the operations of nature. Everything is under fixed laws, which cannot be disreguarded. But while everything in nature is governed by natural laws,,, man alone, of all the inhabitants of the earth, is amenable to moral law. To man, the crowning work of creation, God has given power to understand His requirements, to comprehend the justice and benificence of the law, and it's sacred claims upon him; and of man, unswerving obedeience is required.
Michael50,
you have posted that Ellen White was an inspired and authoritative SDA prophetess.

in the future, would you please CITE YOUR sources so that you are not causing people to believe what you posted is your own writing?

You know, I'm not sure if you're saying this, but it seems to me that when people say the Bible proves we can't keep the law that we no longer are supposed to even try. Now surely that can't be true. If we don't even try not to lie, steal, commit adultery, etc., where in the world is that going to get us? Clearly that's not what God means by our no longer being under the law because that wouldn't make any sense!

Jesus always told those He forgave their sins to "go and sin no more." What in the world do we think that means? Obviously, since the Law is our schoolmaster and tells us what sin is, He is telling us to keep the Law! In other words, follow the Law which tells us not to sin! So obviously God DOES expect us to not sin. Yes yes yes, we clearly needed and need an advocate in Christ because we're so freaking imperfect. God has not yet completed His good work in us, but through Christ Jesus He will. But again, that means that we must keep the law and strive through Christ to live our lives free of sin.
Nobody is saying grace gives us permission to sin. Nobody is saying not to try to please God. Nobody is saying sin all you want and you'll be ok...What we are saying is this:
Isaiah 64:6
But we are all like an unclean thing,
And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags;
We all fade as a leaf,
And our iniquities, like the wind,
Have taken us away.

You can try all you want, it's not going to get you anywhere!

We should pray to become more righteous, but, that is not done by THINKING we are to keep the Law, that is, the commandments of Moses. We become more righteous, that is, 'right standing with God,' by accepting His grace, His mercy, and, His Love for us as we go through our lives , led by His Spirit in us and, sure, you will OBEY the Law too :)

I believe, the person who was thrown out from the wedding--in Jesus' parable in a couple of the Gospel books-- and made to go where there is 'weeping and gnashing of teeth,' came to the feast without being in right standing with God. The man did not obey what was to have been said is the wear for the wedding, and, I believe, this disobedience, simply, meant that the man was disobeying God. God is soooo against disobedience by us, His children, 'that,' and, complaining and murmuring, God HATES that !!! The Lord leads. YOU go where He leads YOU in your life, period :)

And, let me remind you, YOU have The Son , so, you are freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee , so, go, in the Spirit, His way for you, KNOWING it is good, it is goodness, it is not just the BEST way for your life, it is the blessed way of your life. Oh, sure, YOU can go your own way, but, that would be a secular choice, and, certainly, NOT sweet music to God's ears :( So, RESIST the Devil, singing in your ear," pa-DA-DA-up-Ah, pa-da-DA-Up, AH , YOU CAN GO YOUR OWN WAY, go your own way."

Even, IF that way from God is putting you into a 'rainy day.' ;) For 'sunny' is around the corner :)

Peace be with you, Apostle Paul wrote chapter 7 in accordance to the Law of Moses which he was previously living by before coming to faith. There was a struggle with sin in his life previously and sin was the culprit. But remember he continued his confession further in chapter 8 that now he belong to CHRIST with no condemnation, by faith. And verse 2 he mentioned about the 'Law of the SPIRIT' (HOLY SPIRIT). Further he goes on to share how to continue to live without facing second death. Working towards the things of the flesh brings death again (second death) and Working towards the things of the SPIRIT brings life.
Previously i was happy that i was excused of sin as a christian because of chapter 7 and i share with others too to excuse myself. But other Scriptures in the New Testament accused me and also i did not like what i was doing and saying to others a slave to sin again? Then i decided to continue reading chapter 8 and i wanted to know what Apostle Paul says further.but was unable to understanding what he was saying actually and it confused me and being tired and worn out, i kept them aside for some time until the revelation comes. Indeed it came when GOD open my eyes of understanding and the HOLY SPIRIT guided me through chapter 8 as i read.
Before i came to faith chapter 7 was true in my life. i was struggling and a slave to sin and sin was the culprit.
But chapter 8, after coming through faith and belonging to CHRIST, there is no more condemnation for being a slave to sin anymore because CHRIST have defeated sin and death (As it is written; "sin has lost it's power and death has lost it's sting.")
Then verse 2, i discover that it is not the end of the story yet from condemnation because there is Law of the SPIRIT that sets us free, given from the KING of Kings and the LORD of Lords, the 'New Covenant order' in front of me that i must continue to practice (workout my salvation with fear and trembling) because they are spirit and life for my soul (spiritual element in the Temple of the living GOD).
If i ignore and work to the things of the flesh like this world because i am still in this world, then i will know, am facing second death in hell.
Then Chapter 7 will remain in me and am a slave to sin. Who is the culprit now after tasting grace and truth and knowing sin and death have no power over me? i have been lukewarm.
As it is written; 'A dog who has gone back to lick it's vomit.'
As a Christian are we enjoying life here on earth, like the world does because CHRIST gave us freedom?
Then we are still towards the things of the flesh and in danger of second death in hell.
Do you know that working towards the things of the SPIRIT is very difficult because the formula is, you have to forget 'self' and carry your own cross. This were i am struggling too and seeking for HIS mercy and help.
Thank you and may GOD the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST bless you in spirit and truth.

Peace be with you, the Law of the SPIRIT of the New Covenant begins from JESUS's Sermon on the mount (Matthew chapter 5) onwards. Also in other Gospels as well HIS teachings which teaches practices of true repentance to prove GOD's love for others in you and through you. All these things written in the New Covenant are to abide because they are spirit and life which comes from the HOLY SPIRIT who gives life. They are written for individuals and the church to come into one order of an established Kingdom.
Many believers of the way, the truth and the life are ignorant to the New Covenant order which the citizens are to abide and are to be shared from generation to generation for them to also abide in all of them. No one can say I didn't know to GOD because the New Covenant was completed with a great sacrifice by the laying down of one's life and the shedding of their blood (life). It is all documented and no one can deny or nullify them and is even available for all for free.
