Do you need to turn off the Laura Story? She sings a song called "Blessings".

The song is about how God uses the things that look bad in our life to bring us blessings. This is a more than a valid point. Still, do you need to turn off the Laura Story?
Prov 19:3
[SUP]3 [/SUP]The foolishness of a man twists his way,
And his heart frets against the Lord.
NKJV
[SUP]3 [/SUP]When a man's folly brings his way to ruin,
his heart rages against the Lord.
ESV
This speaks of a person that due to their own foolishness, they end up in ruin. They then turn around and attribute it to God.
What if some of the bad things in our lives have more to do with our own bad choices? What if the ruin is self inflicted?
What if instead of rushing to turn on the Laura Story song after something bad happens, what if we need to rush to our knees, repent, and seek forgiveness? (I know a nuance hunter is thinking..Well we need to rush to our knees either way. Yeah I get that. . Just stick with me.)
It's so easy to live in a state of self deception, where we think all the bad stuff has nothing to do with our actions and decisions. As a result we rush to avoid attributing these things to our own bad choices. Indirectly we blame it on God, and well..we turn on the Laura Story. And we go about our merry way, thinking it's one of the "blessings". When in fact it may be a HUGE wakeup call to change, repent, and shift directions.
