Sure it is. You can be a believer and have the theology right, but get stuck in matters of dogma. MOST people who say a lot of their teachings aren't Christian, never looked into their teachings. They just know it wasn't what they were taught. Thus they freak out if something different shows up.

Here's one to start a ruckus, Catholic teaching on WORKS is 100% Biblical as a faith, (individuals may screw it around a little...) and the Protestant teachings will send people to hell. :) But, I wouldn't say protestants aren't "Christian".

By the way, what is a christian? If you get a room of 100 "believers" and ask for definitions you'll get 110 different answers. Who can determine who is right. rofl. It's such a narcissistic conversation, "who is Xian"? It's assuming you, the asker are.

I have to agree...Past the Gospels, and the new Testament as a whole, we are saturated with doctrine, and it was all interpretations of what the bible states, from minds that were ingulf in cultural stimulations of those times, that did effect the mind sets of which ever scholars that were dealing with this subject, of that time in history. I have spent a lot of time visiting different churches around California, myself, I go to a Calery Church where the service is all centered around Bible study. I have never heard anyone point their fingers of damnation at anyone, there to busy studying scripture. I seen Calvin based churches point men and woman straight to the fires of hell, not to say they all behave like that, but I have witnessed it. I have some very close Catholic friends that walk the walk, and serve Christ without reservation. I mean this idea that one set of man's interpretations about what Scripture states, IS Gospel in full, is crazy in my mind, Scripture states what it states...And it sure dose spark the fire of hell amongst fellow Christians...If theirs no Peace, Christ's not in it in my view...The world will pull you in every time if you dont keep your guard up, and they will use every tool at hand...We only have one Bible out here, if we read it ourselves, and let Christ guide us in how it translates to the heart, I think we would be much better for it...Just my take on it.

My trust is in God, the creator of all, and God knoweth mine enemies, I do not need to know them.God protects me and has all the days of my life, and have suffered in the flesh.

Sad...How would you ask them to worship the True God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, If you do not know what god they are worshipping?

Therefore All are loved through by God, as God loves all as in 1 cor. 13:4-13. This type of love is shed abroad in ny whole new being in the Spirit of God.
Does this answer your ?

Nice try, but I will just accept that we will not receive a direct answer from you.

either we have attitude problem or a perception problem. This is flesh revealed in truth.
So does God himself have either of these? I think not?
So maybe if we all learn what this below means
Matthew 10:16-20

Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]16 [/SUP]Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. [SUP]17 [/SUP]But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; [SUP]18 [/SUP]and ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. [SUP]19 [/SUP]But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. [SUP]20 [/SUP]For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

do you think we might walk in truth and love as God does?

I am just giving my opinion, but since you are asking of attitude or perception problem.

How would you know the meaning of the verse you provided...it is talking of sending sheep to wolves...
(sheep vs wolves - enemies)
you yourself admit you do not need to know them...

They do not believe in salvation by faith which is key to salvation. If they do believe in salvation by faith they are no longer catholic even if they go to a catholic church.

Being a Catholic I fail to see how this statement works out.

The teachings of the Catholic church can be seen as secular but fundamentally we are all the same with a common goal.

ALL Churches in all dominations have their precentage of members offering lip service or living on the lip with their faith, this is natural to allow growth of congregation and facilitate their own spiritual growth.

When you enter into the Catholic Church only 1 thing is fundamentally required. That you open your heart and openly invite Jesus to be active in your live and that He fill you with the Holy Spirit. This, would be the case in all Christian communities as is the basis of our faith provision across the board.

The sacraments of the Catholic church (related to as milestones on your faith journey) are designed to facilitate a syllabus of teaching, understanding and growth both within the community and spirit. It is widley believed recieving Baptisim, Confirmation confession etc is a way of strengthening your faith, NOT QUANTIFYING IT. They allow interaction for the many on a community basis. It is not a ranking system whereby Salvation is obtained. nor are they exclusive and closed.

We do believe and teach that acceptance of Jesus as the Risen Lord - Our Saviour - Redeemer of sins and an openess of heart and acceptance of the Spirit is the path to Salvation. Remember here - we are all bound by the same Scriptures:

understand and embrace. It echoes Jesus’ own words recorded by John: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me" (Jn 14:6).

When we think on of commonly shared "sacraments", Baptism, Confession of sin & guilt and Communion, upon which we are all as Christians to participate in actively, it is easy to see how tradionalists can intrepet this to mean all of these MUST be completed in order to gain Salvation when related to the Scripures:

  • He who believes and is baptized will be saved. (Mk 16:16)
  • nless you repent you will all likewise perish. (Lk 13:3)
[*][H]e who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. (Jn 6:54)

This leaves me to say that the Catholic church is not a closed shop - 1 route to Heaven via a Life-long learning program of REQUIRED sacraments and steps but is an accepting faith community who fundamentally believe what we all should:

Invite and accept Jesus into our lives as our Saviour, Died & Risen for our Salvation.
Allow Him to pour out the Holy Spirt within you and live within the Spirit as your Faith facilitor.
Trust in God for all things that he will look after his children.
and live your life in Discipleship with Jesus.

In reference to your statement - I quote a song which sums up the Scripture I have included:
"Only by Faith can we enter - Only by Faith can we stand.
Not by our human transgressions, but by the blood of the lamb"

Great post!

As a former protestant, I look at my conversion as a deeper walk with Jesus. Nothing has been subtracted, but much has been added!

It is God the Father's doctrine of Love, as in 1 Cor. 13:4-13, sorry you apparently do not have or received this type of Love.
I Love you no matter what way you try to slice, dice and or cube, nay replies I have made. It is quite okay.

Do you not understand yet, GOD is my life and leads it, "I" am out of the way hidden in Father through Christ
1 John 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

It is not fair to bring in "Allah", the god of Muslims in the things that concerns Jehovah GOD. Allah is very different from Jehovah. They are pleased in different things, have different commandments and treat their people differently. Making or thinking of them being one is bringing in contradictions.

The question is in follow up in tab no 20 of this thread. Pope kissing the Quran.

And catechism no. 841*"The Church's relationship with the Muslims". "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."

so is it fair to ask now if the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the same God of the of the Muslims?

And your answer to this question is just the tip of the iceberg.

First, I would like to say that just because someone profess something does not mean it is right or he is true. For example, a young man can profess love to a young woman, while in fact, he is lusting for her. Muslim's profession of faith in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is just because they do not know whom they worship. Forgive my statement; It would be sensible if they would profess to believe in the God of Abraham and Ishmael because they do not believe in what the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Jesus Christ necessitate us to believe in.
secondly, just because the Pope or some regarded great men of God have been seen kissing or live kissing the Qur'an does not make it the word of God.
Third, We are talking of Islam as a religion that makes our beloved brothers to be Muslims. I hate this religion and love those who it has so grasped and deceived.
Fourth, there is enough evidence out there that shows that the Allah of Islam is different from the Jehovah God (in essence). This evidence is mainly from the Qur'an itself.

Who then is your God?
Is your God the same god of the muslims?

Well if you desire to think this way then you go right ahead, free will, free choice, see you at Judgment. praying for you to be justified by Faith in the finished work of Christ unto Father of lights, being in the Covenant of Abraham, and order of Melchizadek, having our high Priest that lives forever which is Christ
Thanks for your care Love homwardbound

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! are you just an accuser like the adversary?

My God is the creator of all, the Father of Jesus Christ, whom all have access to through the Son Christ through the cross, that includes dead to flesh and resurrection to Spirit of God, being born again to the creator. being justified in Spirit.
1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Praying for your happiness in Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Am I accussing or asking?

You have insisted that your God is the creator of all and i agree with you, muslims too believed that their god is the creator of all, but tell me honestly do you think you and the muslims worship the same God?

Most Christians know only the tiniest fraction of what Jesus can give them. This includes Catholics. We all need to follow Jesus until we have left the thoughts of men behind.

...we know that “all of us possess knowledge.” This “knowledge” puffs up, but love builds up. If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know. But if anyone loves God, he is known by God. 1 Corinthiasn 8:1b-3

thank you for your prayer.
But instead of praying for me, pray for those who worship false gods, to come out of unbelief and worship the true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and believed in his only Son our Lord Jesus the Christ.

"The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."330

Based from the above catechism of Catholic Church,

"... together with US they adore the one, merciful God..."

Do catholics and muslims worship the same god?
