I agree with you again, we are to follow the Lords rues, and the man being the 'head' is not about forcing anyone to do anything...

Infact, being the head is actually a servant role...think about that Ress??

No, you never explained what you meant by "status" or "function." We all share the same status – none of us is any better than anyone else. As for function, we all do what needs be done. I am single, so I need to do all the things a person needs to do to take care of himself.

It doesn't matter whether or not "headship" is a dictatorial role, because Jesus is the head - not us.

I think a lot of men use that statement of Paul's as an excuse to force their wills on women, rather than to love women as themselves, as Jesus commanded.

I cant really say I have a firm position in this particular subject matter, but I do have a view on it...For me, I really put alot of stock in The Sovereignty of God in all things, so having said that, the next step, for me, is weather I think Paul was speaking for God in His letters or not...Personally, I do, so the next step, again, for me, is stepping back and excepting Gods dispensing of Gifts, races, genders, locations, cultures, what century he places us in, and so on, as being all in His Will to manifest His outcome...With any life He brings to this planet, he gives that life specific circumstances to both work with, and humble ourselves to...He made me a man, and man with certain gifts and disadvantages...He made me an artist with an Artist mind, he birthed me into a bad environment, and He showed me a way out, He did this, and He did that, so I could do His will...The Bible He gave me is to guide me through this journey, stating to me, how He wants me to live, and what he want me to do...For me...I cant cherry pick which verses I want to except as they stand, and which ones I want to inflict my own personal, or cultural views upon, or try to intellectually rearrange them to suit the times I live in...God has me on a very, very short leash, because if He lets me run lose through the garden, I will piss on everything in sight...So I have to stay as close to what Scripture states as to what God wants me to do in this life, and submit myself to the position He has placed me in...So if God in His mind made me this, and He made you that, He has given us the instructions to work with, for, both this and that. Gods social structure is in the best interests of His plan... It may seem vague, but its the best I have right now...Great post, I learned a lot, thanks...God Bless

when i read this, i thought i was in gods garden this very thought made me think yikes and i felt like had sinned for even thinking such,) a guy has got to wee wee some where but not in gods garden, if you mean your under a leash thats simply not true because if you are under gods will, not leash as you put it ,your free to do what ever because your not doing no wrong and your sticking to gods words, now please i enjoy reading your posts but please do not put them thoughts in my head again please

Sorry brother, dident mean any offense... But I do require a very disciplined walk, perhaps I could have found a better way to convey thay...I guess my attempt at humor dident quite hit the mark...

Not at all, I Love The Lord, I choose to walk a very disciplined walk through the Scriptures to please God, thats my choice...Sinning is a choice, and I chose to do my very best to stay from it...I thought my post was articulated to express that, but I guess it dident...

A sentence here in this post above seems to have offend a few people in this thread...Quote..."God has me on a very, very short leash, because if He lets me run lose through the garden, I will piss on everything in sight"...I really am sorry if my off beat sense of humor was offensive to anyone here...No offense intended...

How on earth would that have offended anyone? It seems that people take a word out of context and make it sound alot worse than it really is, allowing themselves to lose focus on the beautiful message being transmitted in the whole comment! LOL I find it very immature and funny how "grown ups" can be so upset by such a simple comment. Keep on keeping on, brother. Just try not to piss on everything in sight! ;)

Why dont you stop looking for a reason to "correct" people and look deeper in the post to understand what was being said. You're 40! Surely you can look deeper into the comment than that one line you plucked out. Piece it together with rest of the comment and you'll see that he didn't mean any harm to the Lord. Gee Wizz lol

Actually, I thought he was correcting him for not showing reverence? Someone like that obviously doesn't fear the Lord much.

Do you guys have absolute nothing better to do then sit around your computers, and find ways to step up on a soap box and judge someone else's post?...The post was about should woman keep silent in the church, my reply to this topic, was that, I feel the Scripture has the last word on this matter, NOT ME, one sentence that was meant in a humorists fashion has been singled out the post, and the rest of the post left unread, or somehow misunderstood...Thats some real childish stuff there..Then even after an apology, from me, to anyone that might have been offended, you guys keep on with with your judgments...What a joke, insighting fights from behind the comfort of a computer...Its all new to me out here, but not very impressive...I had a private message from someone out here warning me about this particular click of people that I was attempting to defend because I felt they were being bullied, on another thread...Man was he right, and man was I wrong! in my world an apology stops the enemy in his tracks, here, it just wakes him up...Give it a rest...

As to the post at hand, I feel Scripture speaks to us, and demands we discipline ourselves to its instructions...Period! As for this sentence that has drew so much fire...Get over it, I already apologized! I am a little late to these posts but I can tell you that 1Corinthians 14:34-35 which deals with women in the Church is currently thought to be added by Scribes and is believed to not be part of Paul's original text. Biker Dave

why apolagise only to carry on with an attack, looks like you cant handle correction to me, i rebuked you in the name of love, so you could explain what you said so that other who would of been offended by your comment may not hate you or bear a grudge, for your comment.

you apologized for your remark i excepted youR explanation , (i have not carried it on you have ) and now your out to publicly make everyone think because you have had a private message from someone claiming that i am a trouble causer or what ever is claim is , you can make everyone else think that i am, (obviously its about me because you only defended me and another person in the thread your talking about and that other person is banned, and the way i see it if a brother is spreading rumors about me to you behind my back then hes not a brother because a brother goes to a brother when he has a problem and talks about it (he does not hold grudges about a brother, that is clearly written in the bible, i did the right thing to rebuke you brother and if i have a problem with you i will always tel you, and not go and send other people a pm (think about this brother, the enemy plants hateful thoughts in your head about another brother so that you have hate in your heart, you should say what it s you think i am brother before your hate toward me grows inside you and ends up causing you to fall, feel free to rebuke bro, peace be with you in the name of the farther the son and the spirit,

ps how do you think a godly women would feel about your joke would you like them to be offended, you can not joke about pissing in gods garden, im a brother not a hater,

A good christian handles rebuke you did you apologized now you attack me more, be sincere my friend, dont let the enemy win by keeping hate in towards another brother what was the other brothers claim about me, that makes you think boy was he right,
